I don't think that's the case, Slush created the stratum protocol and has said merged mining doesn't work (yet or at all I'm not sure).

That's luck your demonstrating. There is no waste, all work goes to btc, and all work goes to nmc, if it's merged mining. You don't have some go to btc and some go to nmc, if the pool is merged mining, all work counts to all currencies. There is nothing lost.

Your stats just show good luck for slush, and bad (or at least worse) luck for bitminter.

I switch a lot of miners to BTCmint, due 1%fee, even in getwork, Getwork support vía 80 port and the plus of NMC (As I say before, a strict proxy limits this miners to run on HTTP and 80 port)

NMC is getwork only. But you get them if you have NMC wallet entered. There were pitches, repitches to Slush(over 10 in last days) to get merged mining on stratum for nmc or nmc, dvcm, ixc. But Slush thinks that they are dead or not innovative enough. Now is hard to argue that NMC doesn't have a problem and others are hard to sell and brings something new but as long as you can sell them and get 10% extra I don't agree they are dead.

I have earned "a lot" by just playing with NMC on e-BTC...

Is there any chance that support for merged mining (e.g. NMC) over stratum will be added at any point in the future? It's a feature that the BitMinter pool has and I would like to see added to this one since getwork has been deprecated.

I came back to Slush after a 1.5 year hiatus. Is merged mining enabled on Stratum? I assumed it wasn't since I wasn't getting any NMC but on block 234890 I received a little NMC. Any ideas as to why? Is one of the Stratum servers doing NMC mining as well?
