I wrote him a PM here a couple of weeks ago, but got no response.

Better to use email I think. Smiley

No, I just asked why the pool has such a a large negative net balance and he explained about the older days when the pool was straight PPS and losing so much money.

Looks like the negative balance shrinks slightly each time we find a block.  We need MOAR HASHRATE!

If any of my BFL or TerraHash or KNCMiner or Avalon orders ever get delivered, I'll add lots more hashrate!

I did email back and forth with him (FireDuck) a few weeks ago, so he hasn't completely disappeared off the face of the earth....

Did he tell you that he's coming back/still caring for hhtt?

I think a couple of little changes here and there are needed, for example: when a dark background color is used, text should be white. Sometimes I have to reload several times till I get a light background because I cannot read it otherwise.

Profit and loss measured in blocks is hard to understand.

Last month pool hash rate is wrong, too low.

Things like these, nothing really big, just a little polishing here and there Smiley

By the way where is FireDuck and why hasn’t he been around here lately?

I'd like to know as much as you... but pool keeps hashing... its high-availability architecture is really resilient.

ps. and it keeps growing, this is what matters in the end, since it drives down variance.

So is my assumption correct that when the block we just found is confirmed  what we have in PPLNS will shift to  Owed? I was mining at this pool before the change over to PPLNS awhile back. I like this pool.

Edit: Never mind I got my answer already with a quick payout THX... By the way where is FireDuck and why hasn’t he been around here lately?

Because, just like in every other pool, your hash rate is estimated based on the frequency of work submissions.   It's not unusual to have such estimates vary by +/- 1.0% like yours is.  Plus at higher difficulties, 1 submitted difficulty 32 share might actually take 33 difficulty 1 shares to generate - there isn't necessarily a one-to-one correlation between what you produce and what you end up submitting (especially given hardware errors).

Estimates vary, and they are estimates, they are not precise.  Watch long enough, and you'll probably see your 5 minute rate sometimes hitting 14,000 and sometimes hitting 12,000.

how come my asic blade is reporting 13000+ Mh/sec and the site is only showing around 12500 and last day at 12200?

Variance I suppose, 13 GH/s is probably reported by your miner counting difficulty 1 shares, but you're probably mining with higher difficulty, so if you look at your graph you'll probably see times when you're hashing higher than 13GH/s and times when you're hashing lower.

cgminer before latest version was counting HW errors as good hashes, BTW, and so your hashing speed was reported as a little higher, while pool counts submitted and valid shares only.

Yeah,

anyway we're at 2.2 GH/s for the last day and, most important, to join this pool you don't need to ask for admission...  Roll Eyes

Only OP can  Undecided ... or mod.

Ok, we can't make 6 blocks each day even if we easily get accustomed to such a bonanza Smiley

Good thing is pool is growing, so difficulty increase is less scary for us.

Shares don't decrease in value, you just end up having less of them in the payout pool at any given time.  More miners mean that the lookback - (2*difficulty shares) - gets produced faster.  Assuming that you mine at a constant rate, this means that you end up having fewer shares in payout status because they are dropping off faster.

The higher the pool hash rate, the faster that shares drop out of payout status.  Over time, this should be balanced out by the pool finding blocks faster - overall you make less per payout, but the payouts should become more frequent.

Does your PPLNS share go down when new miners join the pool , my PPLNS share is decreasing , but I have not stopped mining ?

im gonna try this one out too as slush payout is too little in my opinion, should get about 1 btc every 3 days with my blade but its been 5 days and im on 1 btc, we will see

Just be aware that this is a "slow" pool, unlike the "rush" that Slush's pool tends to provide with quick blocks.

It normally finds about one block per day, and you won't move up the "sucker's list" as quickly as you think you should be moving upwards.  That's just the nature of this PPLNS - it takes a while to wind up it up, and an equally long time for it to wind down.

The 5 blocks today was VERY unusual...  Uh.....   Is that now SIX blocks for today?  Holy crap!

Recently found (and love) this pool and am dedicating enough hash rate to it to stay in about the top 11.   You've got to love the artwork, the operational smoothness, and the FIVE (count them, FIVE) blocks we found already today.

I too am a happy sucker...

BTW,

please note that last block has been paid in part because there are no more confirmed coins, but pool has 100 BTCs to be confirmed (120 blocks) then it will pay the remaining.

I'm writing this for the newcomers, because first time it happens it can be a little confusing to see what's going on Smiley
