In my opinion these coin are BTC, ETH and EOS, all of them has more potential to keep growth and the price will be going up multiple times in the long term. The market cap of crypto still very small compared stock market because crypto market still young just was born afew years ago, and in every years actually the price of BTC and ETH going up. When the market cap of crypto increase to more than $1 Billion, these coin will going up multiple times.
If you want to invest in a long term, then I advise you to invest in EOS. And I think in a year you will get a good profit.

I think the most reliable option is to invest in ETH or BTC. But I think it's better to invest in ETH.
Devide $500 to 5 parts and invest 100$ in 5 different new alts just come out to IDEX from "high" rated ICOs on icodrops and trading near ICO price. That coins have big chances to be listed on big Exchanges and make x2-x3 in near future
I do not think that this option is suitable for long-term investments. New altcoins grow rapidly in price and fall as quickly as they do, and then they do not rise again. It is better to buy time-tested coins - the top 10 on CoinMarketCup.
For a $500 with a long term hodling, try to consider IOST, EOS, SYS and NEO. These are the coins that are promising and will never fail you in the long run. Pretty good coins that anyone would want to consider right now. Some of these coins may actually end up giving a huge push anytime soon and for those who may be holding those after this little correction they have had, the next leg up may be a pretty one for most of them. There are some other coins like SC, COSS, and ENG which may be doing well. ENG after the last up from the ICO has been holding pretty strong after the last downtrend for most coins, and it simply looks like a token that is set for huge gain.

many altcoins have a good future and are suitable for long-term investments. such as Ethereum, BCH, and Ripple. The altcoin has a large volume and a clear concept and many believe in the development of the coin. but I suggest before you invest better the first analysis of the coin you will invest. do not originate investment without knowing the condition of the coin.

how if for example, you can divide your money into 3 or 5 parts and then you can use to buy altcoin for 3 or 4 altcoins and you can save the rest of money and only you use if the market is down too deep. I think you can split your money for $100 or $150 and I think it is better because you don't have to just one altcoin but you have at least 3 altcoins that potential to increase.
Well it's up to you but a smart long term solution would be 50-60% in major coins (BitCoin,Ethereum,Litecoin, as you wish) , 20-30% in a promising altcoin of your choosing (pick a coin which in your opinion is undervalued,has great potential or the team is planning to implement major features in the near future) and 10-20% in ICO (that's the hardest part as there are a ton of scams and generally weak ICOs, whether the idea is bad, the team doesn't have the experience or knowledge to pull it off or just the competition is too high). With your budget, maybe you can allocate to EOS and ADA. Just take a coin that is affordable, so you can get it in large quantities. What is your risk level? For low risk, my suggestion is to look at top 20 market cap and pick 2 to 3 coins for investment.

I don't really understand a good altcoin, but I see very good ethereum from other altcoins. because of rapid progress and great growth. currently some altcoin using ethereum platform. so I think ethereum is great for long term investment. besides these altcoins like ADA, TRX, LTC, WAVES. Also have the same potential in the future.
