That's right, at this time the percentage of successful projects is very small, so it's very difficult for investors and bounty hunters to find good projects. even scam projects are now made so good that they can fool investors.
You're right.  Now is really a bad time for investment in ICO.  Very few good projects worth investing in.  And I advise you never to invest all the money in the ICO.

I don't think it's true, there are still many ico paying. and a little ico is a scam.
I think your statement is reversed.
indeed it all depends on the opinion of someone who experienced it, if the person meets ico a lot of scams, then it will say most are scam.

Saw this study on twitter... https://twitter.com/Zeex_me/status/978981735101878272

I've seen a lot of people asking about how many legit ICOs there are, so I thought I'd share

Quote from the article: "The study begins by breaking down ICOs into 6 groups: Scam, Failed, Gone Dead, Dwindling, Promising, Successful. “On the basis of the above classification,” they wrote, “we found that approximately 81% of ICO’s were Scams, ~6% Failed, ~5% had Gone Dead, and ~8% went on to trade on a exchange.”

"Scams were defined by researchers as “Any project that expressed availability of [an] ICO investment (through a website publishing, ANN thread, or social media posting with a contribution address), did not have/had no intention of fulfilling project development duties with the funds, and/or was deemed by the community (message boards, website or other online information) to be a scam.”

DYOR people ...
Not really 80% i think 90% are scam.

Now really many projects do not reach the soft cap and a lot of scam companies.  This is very bad.

The fact that a lot of ICOs are scams is setting a bad environment for even the good ICOs because less people trust ICOs this days and both the good and bad projects are seeing a lesson positive attitude from the community as time passes.

Now for a project to be regarded as an all star ICO, it has to be backed by the top ICO analysts in the business as well as recognized multi billion dollars companies as partners.

The market has changed and people are becoming more careful to be safe.

80% i quiet huge percentage that i will not go with but rather i think most ICO's fall within the groups stated above. That i why there i the need for each individual to be on his/her guard in order not to fall as a victim although i have been a victim for ones.

Wow, 8% actually made it to an exchange.  That's an insanely low number, but for some reason it sounds correct.

I have been in a few signature campaigns, and I refuse to advertise for any ico that even has a whiff of scam about them.  There are a lot of them that try to scam investors and anyone else who'll give them money.  Any data on which country has the highest proportion of scammers?  I'm thinking its probably russia.  They're at least as intelligent and most definitely more unscrupulous than most asians and I think they would have the highest number of ico scammers.

Regardless, all new ico's coming onto the market should be scrutinized.  Bitcointalk does a pretty good job of doing this and I have seen many topics here exposing scam ico's.  A lot actually.

Really, only 8%? That sounds really insanely low...where did you get that number from?

The ICO's I invested in all got listed at an exchange, so I would doubt that information to be correct.

Still would be interesting what's the source for that, maybe I just got lucky...big warning signal if that is true.

If we talk about the fact that most projects are cheating, then this is the case. But I'm not sure that it's 80 percent. In the current situation, there are very few investors in the market who are ready to invest their money in risky projects, which is why most projects can not collect the necessary money!

I agree, alas, but now there are a lot of scammers. There are also many projects that can not be realized because of poor conditions on the market. Alas, the situation in the market is bad.

Most of the projects really turn out to be scams. Now is a very difficult situation in the crypto currency market. But we must learn to choose the most good and reliable projects.

A lot of scam came out after the new year, when the market was at its peak. Now investors are very cautious about investing in the crypto currency, because the market is at the bottom. Therefore, now really worthwhile projects survive. And the figure of 80% is not relevant now.

Now is a very dangerous time for investments in ICO. That's why we have to be very careful when choosing a project. But I hope that soon everything will change for the better.

You're right.  Now a lot of scam projects and not worth immediately investing.  I advise you to check the company first.

Too many ICOs are produced daily, hourly. This confuses the ICO market> Many ICOs have no specific application, no clear direction. I really despise peers by making a profit from this. Using the head to do bad things is a shame. I hope the scams market will be reduced in the future to attract more new investors.

If saying that 80% of ICO are scams, that's not true. I trying to invest some projects and also take part in some bounty campaign, it has nice teams with many experts and well vision, but attracting investment is unsuccesful. And that's fail, not scam. That are two different words, cannot combine. Embarrassed

I believe that this percentage is much more than 80. I hope in the future to solve the issues of the scam at the state level and people will not lose money investing in scam projects

Maybe you are not lucky when you choose an ico project for your investment, you have be smart to get good and trust ico for investment, always have new ico and you can trust to get profit later. maybe you can check how the popular of owner and ico team before you joined and you can know it real person or not.
