The title of this thread is bit provocative, but the fact is that most people have a bad experience with airdrops. According to several airdrop hunters I spoke to, the majority ICOs don't pay out at all.

What's your experience with airdrops? Did you get scammed most of the times?
my experience used to be easy to get a gift from airdrop and not any problem. but if viewed now there may be a point, many who complain about airdrop because it is not paid at all. I myself have not played airdrop for a long time. and do not know if there is a deceptive ICO on airdrop. hopefully this can be used as a lesson, to be more cautious in the future in choosing the ICO airdrop to be followed.

I really had a very bad experience with the Airdrops, some ICO's didn't pay or some which pays the price of coin is very much low so that you can't sell them.

I fully support you in this, because today everyone who knows at least a little about the ETH platform and understands a little. Solidity is able to write their smart contracts and with great pleasure starts airdrops promising people mountains of money.

Today more than half of airdrops are scam or fails. That's why before perticipating  I deeply research the project. My advice is to pay attention whether the projects has a ready-made product as it is some kind of guarentee that it is not a scam as well as  long termed activity before ICO. It is an indicator that team goes stright to thir goal and will not give up.

I also think that 99% airdrops is a scam. The only thing that surprises me is that some people are ready to buy these scam-coins at a decent price. And some manage to resell the coins at an inflated price, although this is all full of fraud.

I agree that most airdrops are scam, that's why i don't participate in airdrops. I think that they only making big telegram group or big base of email for selling later. You don't need to invest anything in airdrops, so you can't expect to get some profit from it. Better do some signature or social media campaign , but first do some research before you join to campaign and waste your time for nothing.

Most likely the title of the topic is correct. But after all, no one forces me to participate in airdrops. I think that we should carefully select projects to participate in them.

I agree with you no one force us to join in that airdrops that why me i was carefully choose which one i want to join  because i know after the airdrop there is no exhnager too and no value at all thats why i join in airdrop only in a few only and i choose very carefully.

Rreally a huge number airdrops and most of them are scam, they don't even hide it - frankly require unique keys, wallet, or promoting projects which even not have goals apparently just collecting data about users. If you are to participate in airdrop in those projects which have already entered the market and obtained reputation.

I participated for many years in drops and did not earn so much here and decided that it was not much to gain from this until I got a good amount of money. Recently I stayed in business now, it motivates me.

I think scams are not 99%. Need to correctly choose airdrop and not be registered in all projects. Then you'll get more tokens)

Don't be a newspaper journalist. Don't invent sensationalist titles.
99% being scam would mean that only 1 in 100 ICO's is legit, and that is simply not the truth.
There are many scams, even more, projects that are not so serious, but there are many legit ones out there.
Try using services that track them and value them, you have them all over the internet, both for airdrops and for ICOs.

Not all of the airdrop is a scam. Only the results obtained from the airdrop was a measly token and when sold very cheap. And there are also airdrop when has been sent to participants of such token will be sold, but not selling coins for sale. First follow the airdrop is also the very easy requirement. Different if you follow a bounty campaign is definitely the rule would be more difficult if compared with the airdrop.

This is new to me. I did not know that 99% were scams. I have participated in roughly 20 Air Drops and got all except for Deep Onion. I don't understand why a crypto dev team would offer coins and generate them at no cost to the team, only to renege on a tipping form of adoption.
