Funny that I was about to deposit some money to bet on CS matches but guess what? your post kinda motivated me not to do it. I do not gamble however sports betting is something I think I will keep on trying with some parlay bets. I was going for 4 matches with odds like 6x or something. Pretty worth it giving it a shot with $50, but in the end the chances of winning it is just 25%. Mathematically, it's still huge profit.

Have you ever had that feeling? after a crazy losing streak, the feeling that a win should be close is what makes us lose more.

Yesterday i did it again, made 1 deposit to the casino, and after losing all then i started making more deposits, it was that feeling that made me depo 6 times, and the win never came. Sometimes we need one of those reality shots to understand the danger behind gambling. This time i lost a big amount learned the season and walked away. But in the end, i leave with that same feeling, a big win should be close, but it doesn't worth to keep trying.

I never felt or thought like that when making another deposit, because for me when making another deposit it makes the game like going back to the beginning and cannot be associated with the previous bet. It's a different case when I bet on a dice game, and always multiply it when I lose until it keeps increasing, if that's the case then the feeling or thinking that victory is near can happen, but not about making another deposit. But indeed, feelings and thoughts like that will only trigger us to continue betting without having a good plan to stop, and only a complete defeat and or bankruptcy will make us stop when we experience those feelings and or thoughts.

I think the effect of this was over confidence, you so much believe on yourself that winning is possible that was why you kept having that thought and mindset that a winning is possible, but has also forgotten that it doesn't work that way because the time you felt that a winning is possible the more you gradually drive yourself into making a uncontrollable deposit without knowing that it's just a feeling of becoming greed as well as chasing lose. I know it's hard to understand that you aren't chasing lose, and at your own you would feels that you are normal and gambling fine, but to me what I should have done is that after making first and second deposit and the results didn't come as expected then I had to limits or if my weekly or monthly funds has been exhausted then I quit playing.

We should not do this its risky; its chasing our losses and a cardinal rule in gambling: once you fall to this, you will not accept your losses and will keep trying to regain your losses, and you are not playing for fun anymore but playing for money.

It's not worth chasing your losses; its been proven that once your motivation is to win to gain your losses you losses concentration and you will keep making mistakes and careless with your bets, you can hardly made a good judgement on your bet and from this it will result to a lot of losses, that will eventually lead to regret.

Feelings have nothing to do with gambling. It is all about math. If you keep trusting your feelings you will end up poor very quickly so you better not do that. A big win might happen when you feel it but it doesn't happen because you "felt" it. It happened because you were lucky. As long as you have this knowledge, you won't make any mistakes. "I am the chosen one", "It is my destiny to get rich", "I feel it this time I'll make it" and such similar crap are very dangerous thoughts which force you to take the risks you shouldn't be taking and then, obviously you'll lose lots of money.

I also often feel that way when gambling. When I lose, I always think that if I try again, I will definitely win and get my money back, but in reality, I keep losing. Now when I lose and my deposit is gone, I better stop even though I still feel like I will win, maybe that can be called greed in gambling.

I hope you can learn from your experience, losing 6 times in a deposit in my opinion is a big loss, if you do that continuously, you will definitely lose and it will ruin you.

Don't ask about this, because I've experienced it and it's like that, which has the feeling that victory is near until it continues to deposit several times the victory never comes, finally I said it was a bad day and I was too greedy.

Sometimes our hunches are always followed, but we forget that the victory in gambling is uncertain even though we make several deposits, so it is better to take a break than to continue that the money is getting thinner.

There is not a single gambler in the world who has not experienced such a feeling. It is this feeling that lets down all gamblers, losing more and more.

Yesterday i did it again, made 1 deposit to the casino, and after losing all then i started making more deposits, it was that feeling that made me depo 6 times, and the win never came. You should have stopped after the 1st deposit, not after the 6th. You should always "have in mind" a stop limit, after which you "hardly" interrupt the game.

The feeling of an upcoming big win is self-deception, an illusion invented by gamblers. Such an upcoming win would be real only if the casino's algorithms had "just a little bit more we will give @seoincorporation the jackpot." Smiley

LOL, I did it multiple times --pretty close to six deposits in a row, but I forgot the exact number.
Luckily, I never deposit large amounts, probably only $50 per deposit, so about $300 total, which isn't a big deal. The reason, though, is because of a losing streak where my deposits vanished in just half an hour or so. That triggered my frustration since I didn't get enough playing time.

Fortunately, I can usually recoup 60%-80% of what I lost and call it a day. It's dangerous to keep a balance in an exchange since players can easily get frustrated like this.

I think most of us especially gamblers who are involved in online casinos have experienced or even often experienced this and I am sure that those who most often experience this scenario are gamblers who are so obsessed with winning, with the scenario of feeling that it is time for victory to come just because you have passed several defeats that you think are the limit of your defeat, I have also experienced this incident which made me lose more money than I could afford to lose.

It can be said that this feeling is still quite normal if it happens to you once or twice but if it turns out that the same incident occurs more often then it means that you are a gambler who is unable to learn from experience, it should be from one or two incidents that can tell you that victory in gambling depends on how much you have lost at that time and also this incident should also make you know that feelings, hopes and beliefs do not guarantee victory.

This is what happens when gamblers try to associate logical reasoning with gambling, thinking that if they've lost many times, then it is very likely that they are about winning. Gambling outcomes do not follow a logical path and have no sentiments that follow you that you should at least be compensated with one win after a series of losses. After a series of losses, it is still possible to still lose more if you are not careful.

If it is a skill based game that you have lost may times in, don't keep trying, rather try to stop and go sharpen your skills. If it is a luck-based game, it will not hurt you to try again another day.

Yes, the phenomenon described by the OP is very common and it is well known and has it's own name in psychology: The Gambler's Fallacy.

I have a very funny anecdote about myself trying to explain the fallacy to a friend of mine who is a scientist and is supposed to know about probability because he has studied the subject deeply, with no success. Even today, when I raise the topic again, he says that it is not a fallacy. Thanks God he doesn't gamble!

Yes, I have experienced something similar to what you have experienced before, namely experiencing a strong feeling that victory is near and I must get it immediately, indeed I have made quite a few bets at that time, but I don't know, my self-control has disappeared and the strongest is greed in getting the victory.
Certainly at that time I had played excessively, but if common sense has been poisoned by greed, then all there is is playing and playing without thinking about the risks that will come.
And in the end, after my money ran out, I realized that my actions were very wrong and fatal and I regretted it.

I can definitely relate to that feeling that the next win isn't far after a loss. It seems like the more you lose, the more you lose. The more confident you are that you "should" win. This can encourage you to continue investing. It's hard to escape that mindset. Because casinos are designed to put you in that position. A win always creates another bet.

It takes a lot of strength to walk away. Especially when you are dealing with a huge loss. But I guess knowing that the biggest victory may not come. Or is it not dangerous? That is the reason for this. Psychological battles are often harder than financial battles. For me, setting strict boundaries helped. But it's always a challenge. Thank you for sharing your story. It's a good reminder that taking a step back and realizing when possible is an important part of responsible gambling.

When you think that it is your right to win, or winning is a most in gambling, you will fail to stop the game at the right time. However, if you have gambled and have 3-4 consecutive losses, it is enough for you to close your gambling session and gamble some other time, maybe the next day. It is not be playing more that will make you win, instead it will increase your losses because yoy don't know if you are not on your lucky day. Furthermore, you should also know that winning is not by your own power.

It is a healthy mindset that makes you feel you should win a trap that keeps you stuck in the cycle of losing. I have found that if we are contented to think that we are owed victory. The more it will be difficult to quit. Especially after losing so many times. It's almost like the more you lose, the more you lose. The more certain you are that the next device or ball will pay for everything.

From my experience setting clear boundaries before starting work helps a lot. Specific loss limit or time limit It's important to know when to walk away. Gambling is unpredictable. And there is no strategy or effort that guarantees victory. So it's important to remember that. And don't pressure the loss in the hope that things will change, and perhaps it's best to walk away and come back with a fresh perspective. Ultimately, luck plays a huge role and we cannot control it.

You can't rely only on your gut feeling in gambling, although it also matters, but not so much that you risk your deposit. Risk management should be followed in any case, the deposit should be divided into many bets, but if you have had many losses, you can increase the bet a little in anticipation of winning, but you can't play for the entire deposit because you have lost many times before, this is when you start playing on emotions and in this case common sense can be switched off.

Its deceptive and a trap; that's the point that you are having a meltdown when you are putting in false hope; that's the riskiest time for you, and you could lose everything. its your low point if you keep putting in hope when you are losing a lot.

We all have this experience if we're playing for a long time. its kind of a wake up call, this makes us more wiser, more experienced, and more adaptable to what the worst in gambling can bring us, we have to face the problem in gambling and be bigger and responsive in the right way, not being lured by the attraction of winning hugr.

Maybe almost all gamblers have had such an experience. now we know how important it is for gamblers to limit their gambling allocation. never make a deposit exceeding what has been determined. indeed the most difficult thing is not making that limit for us, but trying to commit not to violate that limit.
Now I no longer have that bad habit. I make an allocation and try not to exceed it. unless I get an additional bonus from the office, I may add to my deposit amount  Cheesy

I have experienced something like this before where I believe that winning will be closer if I keep playing consistently, even though I have lost a lot. I see that it is a phenomenon where a gambler feels curious and believes that he can win if he can play just one more time, even though he already knows that he will lose more, but he keeps playing and forgets his rationality. This is something that often makes gamblers lose a lot, because they already know they have lost but still insist on playing, especially for people who usually play without a plan, usually they are the ones who are most often like this.

you know it's always said that the darkest part of the night is always an indication that it's about to dawn right? If you don't do the right thing the dawn will never come.

There's not guarantee that because you've lost four games that the fifth is going to be favourable or will be a win that will serve as compensation for the other games you've lost. If you think that way, you're going to experience failed bet more than the once you've won. Luck based games has a way of reflecting on the way we perceive certain games and sometimes our perception might end up true but outside of that, if you're gambling on an event that's not luck based, if it's not working up for you for a while maybe you could consider taking a break before you go broke trying to prove some superstitious concept.

Thing is that we humans tend to find patterns when there are none. We all know mathematically that the previous wins or losses do no influence the next game. But we keep thinking that if we have lost so many number of games, a win is reserved for us in the future. This is wishful thinking/gamblers fallacy and quite a few more cognitive biases.

I dont think such a dream should be hunted because that is what the casino wants you to do - its their business after all if you lose. Instead stop yourself and accept the loss.
