Having the feeling of a big win should be close is what so many of us feel each time we are gambling, that's why each gambler has to keep aside the amount they are to gamble and stick by it, to avoid being tempted to gamble more because it's really hard to beat the feeling and thoughts of big wins is close by for us to get, while in reality it is not. It's hard to accept that anyway because, as we humans, we have the positive feeling that whatever we do will pay off, no matter how hard it is, we will keep on trying and believing.
It is that, let me try one more time, one more game, one more bet, one more play, that puts a lot of people in trouble. And without a proper support system, maybe a friend or a family member to tell you, 'okay, it's enough for now, take a break, try later.' That's how people shift gradually into gambling addiction.
The moment you're in a losing streak and that feeling of 'one more' comes in, know you're approaching the danger zone. I don't think you perceive when you are about to win, it just happens, and you're so shocked like 'Oh my God, I won the game", but when you're getting the 100% positive it will work, that's how it doesn't work most of the time. And if you move with that kind of energy again, 'Okay, let me try, it's going to work this time, I was so close, you see yourself going over.
So we must learn as gamblers, to tell ourselves the truth once we notice a losing streak and caution ourselves. Quietly exit the game and stop playing. Don't overspend. If you're out playing a game and you've exhausted it, go home.
Don't fall for the 'you're so close' and 'one more time' trick. It's not healthy.
