An incidence that happened recently as shown in the picture below where a gambler collapse and later died after winning $2.5k  on his bet sparks the question;
It's rear to hear this kind of news. Though I have heard news like that but haven't seen it before. But it is funny how happiness of $2k can kill a man. I just wounder the level of poverty this person have gone through before wining this amount.

1. Do you stake to win an amount you're not emotionally ready to receive?
This is indeed a funny question, I don see any amount too big or small for me. There is no amount I can win that will make me go gaga.

This is no longer new these days things are really happening, both failure and success initiate emotions to us as humans such that an overly reactions and actions can become problematic which can end up taken our or cause la negative effect of us, I have heard of a story of a man who never believes that in his life time he could afford to buy a car and when this eventually happened, the very day the man bought the car, out of so much excitement he got drunk and had a fatal accident and died that same day, good thing has now turned to bad, what a world, if not for over excitement probably which might have affected his health, maybe the man has an underlying health issues that was triggered by his reaction. People tend to react differently over the same thing, people can never be the same.
You are right on which this doesnt really only talks about good situation but also in bad situation as well on which this one is really just that normal. Whenever a human being is really that having that kind of sudden burst of emotions on which it do really comes into a point that he do loses up his cool or emotion control then this is something that could really affect out negatively or simply on the body situation
you do currently have. If you do have some health issues then this would really be that a huge risks into you whether the situation is really that positive or negative. Just like been said by others that having up some control would really be that recommended so that whenever it do happens then you wont really be finding yourself that overly reacting.

It is really just that sad that there are people who dies because of the excitement and gladness that they do had specially on the time that hitting up that huge wins. It would really be just thst
such a waste if they would really be having that kind of ending on which they cant really be able to cherish out those wins because they had died literally.
So arent we really that liking for it to happen?

I know that this can only happens to poor gamblers who have not seen huge amount of money in their possession so when they see big amount, it normally affect their psychology and with the anxiety they collapsed and died. I have seen such situations in my region. But for those who have been seen huge amount of money didn't have such cardiac arrest instead they will be more excitement for that. According to a lecturer, the way sadness killed people also happiness also killed. And there is no way such can be avoid. Unless we know it that the person might be affected so we give the person little by little.

Besides that, no one will know when he will die. If someone gets too excited or too happiness, that can affects to his health which can cause to death. Heart attacks is one thing that often happen to many people which makes that person die suddenly without any cause.

Over excitement is very bad for the heart. It can cause cardiac arrest instantly and someone is no more. Sometimes we need to control our reaction to things from the little things that happens around us to help us be more moderate when handling bigger excitements or disappointments that comes our way. It's quite a kitty that the man did not live long enough to even enjoy his wins.

Furthermore, people should prioritize regular medical checks in order to be in good health condition, because bad health most times contributes to the body not handling emotions properly since they body is in a deteriorating mode already, so any other pressure on it would have a disproportionate effect.

I don't think a healthy person will just collapse and die after winning some huge amount of money on bet.
It could be that the victim has some kind of sickness or desease such like heart attack, high blood pressure HBP etc or some kind of sickness that could cause such tragedy maybe due to the over excitement of the bet he won or when the goodnews came to him that he just won a huge amount on bet could come as a shock to him which might lead to his sudden death.

We should always advise our brothers with such sickness like HBP not to be gambling it is very risky.

For me I don't think there is any amount of money I will win on bet that will ever me collapse I will just be overwhelmed with joy and happiness, if I collapse and die who will then enjoy my money?
Yeah it's hard to believe if a healthy person can die in a second just because he won a lot money.

He must have at least heart attack history or other disease that make him can be like that, unfortunately most people will not tell their diseases because it's not important or they worried if other people will stay away against them.

Just like people with HIV, even it's not easy to spread the disease, but most people don't want to touch or getting close with HIV people.

this is usually the story
unfortunately
you transform 10k into 100k, 100k into 200k just to lose it all trying to make 400k
many stories like that
probably turning 10k to 100k would already be enough and a huge win

when it comes to gambling it is better to stop before you want.

The increased dopamine levels in the brain often make a person so confident with the next result, like feeling great or like successfully cracking the code for the next success, so there is no doubt at all for them to try to get more instead of securing and cashing in the amount of winnings they have already got to enjoy. Sometimes even though a gambler already knows that the current result cannot be used as a guarantee for success in the next session, such actions are sometimes difficult to avoid. But of course having the right understanding and knowledge about what and how gambling really is is much better than you not knowing anything. Because actually getting 10x the amount of capital is already a very big profit.

No one has indicated what was the cause of his death; it could be that he died because of too much fun because of the large amount he won; his blood pressure could not handle it, which may have caused a heart attack.

There is a situation like that in which the blood circulation in the heart does not become normal due to too much fun, which causes the rapid pumping of the heartbeat in the heart. So the only sad thing is that he didn't enjoy or take advantage of what he won a large amount of gambling.
Besides that, no one will know when he will die. If someone gets too excited or too happiness, that can affects to his health which can cause to death. Heart attacks is one thing that often happen to many people which makes that person die suddenly without any cause.

I heard that a person can die while reading a newspaper without any cause. So heart attacks can be trigger by many reason and that can happen to anyone. What @OP tells to us can also happen to the gambler who win huge money because he is not ready to see that huge money in his account or his hands so that make him gets a heart attack. That is why we must prepares for anything that can happen to us when playing gambling.

But we admit that it is not easy to manage our emotion especially when we win the game with a huge money. That can make us become too happiness and lose control of our emotion. That can make us get a heart attack if we are not careful to take care of ourselves.

What that is more relevant about this would be the link and not the image. Post the link.

1. Do you stake to win an amount you're not emotionally ready to receive?
I have done it several times in the past on betting sites but I lost all, but I used small amount of money. The chance that I can win is little.

2. How much can come into your account at a spot that can cause you to collapse instantly
I can not collapse.
I haven't seen any amount that would make me collapse because I am always expectant of what I should earn or amount to win. Just as you said, before I have used small amount to place bet to win huge amount and I was eagerly ready waiting for the games to play and win all the matches but unfortunately, about 4 or 6 games terminated the match that was how I lost everything. Although it was around $400k to win but after then I never go that dipper staking much games instead I would prefer just 3-10 games with small odds to win a decent amount not more than $100 to $300 if stake with $20-50.

this is usually the story

But lot of gambler wouldn't want it that way instead they will want to turn it 10k to 1m which to me seems unrealistic even though there are people who are having that kind of luck but the risk factor is too high over there because they can turning 10k to 30k or even 50k is much more valuable and possible to happened so soon than longing to have a bigger share of what 10k would give directly to 1m.

Cases of dieing before even getting to receive the amount one has won in a bet is increasing by the day with some gamblers staking to win an amount that's above what Thier emotion can carry and when they win, some faint and die instantly because they've not seen such amount of money in their account

How can you make a gamble with a huge potential winning and you fainted or died when you later win the bet. It have the ticket with you all day so you are aware  that there is a possibility of you winning the ticket. Most people will have even start spending the money on their minds, how they will spend the money and what they will spend it on. Like me each time I made a bet I and it remains like 2 or 3 games to win I begin to put the money into calculations and things I can possibly spend it on, that already takes out the anxiety out of me.

There are some people who after placing there bet, they don't even bother to check there bet slip until the end of the day. So in cases like that there is always room for anxiety because imagine opening your betting app and you it credited already with millions definitely you will be overwhelmed but when your following the game it will be different.

I agree that dying from the joy of winning is a very unlikely event. Most likely, it is not true. Usually, joy adds positive emotions to us and it is not so easy to die from joy.
That is why I do not really believe in the news about dying from the joy of winning. Although, you know, winning very large sums is not always a positive event. This money will definitely change your behavior in a radical way. Starting from the fact that you will have to think a lot about your safety and ending with the fact that you will experience satiety from many pleasures.

Well, this is definitely something I have read before here in the gambling section of the forum, and keeping in the mind the percentage of people who are nowadays suffering from heart deseases and are overweight, I would not be surprised if this actually happens more often than we believe. Thought because of the source of the information being Facebook, I would rather to be skeptical of what information I consider to be true, coming from there.

As for myself, I don't think such a thing could actually happen to me because of my age and how psychologically feel most of the time. I believe I would rather feel a wave of dopamine invading my body and a rush of happiness, instead of misbelief and fainting on the place. Though, I know people in my family who could perfectly fall victim of something like this, because of their weight and age.

Interestingly enough, this happened in Nigeria, alledgely where gambling is a national amusement activity.
Facebook doesn't carry fake news from Nigeria especially news that is not confirmed doesn't easily been shared on social media because it would go viral, so while sharing a news over there people mind the source and authencity of the news before sharing. However, for me I wouldn't have that happened to me since I am opened and I know anything is likely to occur in gambling and I could play roulette or have some spin and hit what I didn't plan for so for that I am all ready like mostly prepared such thing may comes out without being caught unaware of anything so.

...Forget that one my friend, on the other hand I also quite agree with you that most likely people who experience such events seem to be people who suffer from heart disease, therefore with this incident then maybe this can be used as a lesson for all of us in the sense that when we have a disease that can be affected by anything that has the potential to be surprising then avoid that activity, not only about gambling.

Yes, it's all about chronic heart disease. And if he hadn't died from such a large winnings, it's possible that death could have caught up with him during sex. Despite the fact that these are positive emotions in both cases, they are in any case harmful to a sick person.

Honestly there is probably more to it then the news report says.  I'm not convinced just winning a huge amount of money will be solely responsible for someone dropping dead due to the heart attack or something else.  I mean yeah if ypu aren't healthy and apt to a health condition then winning something like this might not be the best thing for you health wise but for normal people, no it's not going to habe those effects.

It’s probably worth so much that it gave him a heart attack that is worth his life, literally. I think it’s unfortunate for him, but maybe he also has other complications that made it happen. I think it’s not just emotionally ready but physically because he might have some underlying conditions, you know.

Same thing I said the shock of winning probably triggered whatever was wrong with home health wise, people must always to be calm , it's possible he was sick or something, anytime you gamble remember that it's 50/50 and it's all a game of luck, you can either win or lose, gambling comes with a lot of emotional stress when you are losing and sometimes when you are winning you might get overexcited always put your emotions in check, so you don't end up having complex issues. What happened to this man is quite sad
This story might have been a fabricated story, but in reality something of this nature due occur, I have heard from people that a civil servant who has been retired from service of work for period of seven years and government fails to pay him his gratuities but after awhile  another new face of government paid everyone they owned gratuities, immediately they man got the alert despite that he has aged, the man collapsed and die, this story is applicable to op narrative, so story of op can be fiction or not, but it can happen to someone who has not touched big amount of money before, but if you do see large amounts of money, I don't think that out of excitement can make someone who won a larger money through gambling can give off immediately it saw what he or she wins in the gambling

I dunno where y'all see stuffs like this more often, cus I don't.. for the most part, only 2% of gamblers are reported with cases like this and it's usually tired to an already extending ailment, problems... whatever! It's a tragedy that he stayed alive although he didn't have much, but passed out when he finally got awarded of what's he's practically been expecting.

As long as I made the money the legit way, whatever billion, trillion it is, I ain't even changing my wardrobe for the next two months to avoid looking too conspicuous.. All I'm gonna do is sit back and draw a foundational plan on businesses at my reach to invest. Again, did the person in question really die of shock? Htf dies over 4m?

This means I would say that cases like this are very rare cases, because the scenario is unreasonable to make someone experience bad things because the results of his gambling are as he expected, it is very rare for something that should be happy to cause a disaster.

Yes, I rarely hear cases like this, there is a gambler who faints after he gets a big jackpot or maybe he already has a history of heart disease and when he goes to the casino he is in poor health. Grin
It is also strange to hear cases like this, but if this really happens, how unfortunate the fate of a gambler and his family is, instead of wanting to get happiness, they get sadness.

Of course, and I think quite a lot of people agree with me that it is an unreasonable event although yes there are some people who experience it but certainly only a small number of people. Because logically if victory actually causes disaster then what do you want from gambling, there is no way you gamble to lose right? Cheesy Forget that one my friend, on the other hand I also quite agree with you that most likely people who experience such events seem to be people who suffer from heart disease, therefore with this incident then maybe this can be used as a lesson for all of us in the sense that when we have a disease that can be affected by anything that has the potential to be surprising then avoid that activity, not only about gambling.

Yes if that did happen how unfortunate he should be he should get happiness and enjoy the results of the victory but he did not feel it and his family also felt fair in feeling the sadness of being left forever.
Yes you are right and this should be a valuable lesson for all of us if we are in an unstable health condition then we should just rest at home to recover our health and not force ourselves to gamble or do other activities because health is very important and when the body is healthy then any activity will be felt full of comfort and pleasure.
