Overall, great tips to remember but I hope poeple/gamblers should take it seriously about the drugs and alcohol part, there are articles that I have read in the past that a lot of gamblers use alcohol and drugs as a coping mechanism for their gambling problems and as a result, it further worsens the problem, not only they have become gambling addicts, they also became an alcoholic or a drug addict too.

just an addition to the budget part, never use the money you can't afford to lose as a budget for your gambling.

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.

1.I don't really think that setting a budget would stop a gambler to become addicted. Having big wins at the beginning is what makes a gambler get addicted. This has nothing to do with setting a budget and sticking to that budget.
2.The gambling addicts could also take a break from gambling, but that doesn't help them to fight their addiction and re-evaluate their wrong decisions. Most gambling addicts have a lack of self-awareness and simply taking a break won't help in becoming more self-aware.
At the end of the day, there's no "red pill" that would keep the gamblers away from addiction. Everything is about mentality and being aware of your own behavior.

I've seen people run out to a pawn shop to sell their watch just to get money for another round because they reached daily limits on their ATM withdrawals. Setting a budget helps only until you get addicted so much that you completely lose control.
All the advice by OP is great and works, but only until you reach a point where you can no longer limit yourself. For instance, a normal gambler casually sits at the table and walks away after an hour or two, can leave the table after a win or a loss and feels fine regardless of the result. A light addict can't stop as long as he has money. When he loses everything is when the fun ends and he keeps thinking about ways to make the money back all the time. A hard addict doesn't leave the casino, he's taken out because he's drunk, out of money, or arguing and starting fights.

Setting a sufficient budget doesn't guarantee that you won't gamble, but having that mindset from the start will help you restrain your urges regardless of the outcome of the game. You will be able to create limitations and manage your finances because, in today's society, those who struggle with managing their finances when it comes to gambling frequently develop gambling addictions.
It is also true that someone shouldn't bet while they are intoxicated because they can make poor decisions that they'll later regret. When gambling, it's crucial to have a proper frame of mind so we can concentrate and make wise choices. I once gambled while intoxicated because I believed I might be luckier and braver when it comes to taking risks, but I regret doing so because I lost all of the money I had set aside for that particular day of gambling. To be successful in our gaming endeavors, self-control and discipline are absolutely necessary.

This is just the basics, but anyone should be aware of it:
We are aware, lately there have been many cases that I have seen people act beyond common sense by ending their lives, the main factor is losing in online gambling bets, In my area gambling has become commonplace and an open secret, where young people and adults are not spared from online gambling addiction, maybe what you said has some truth.

I believe what you say, the way to do it is up to ourselves, they must really know what the purpose of gambling is, emotions, greed, lust often make users who gamble online, forget the things you mentioned above, in the end they are always trapped in a black world circle.

Addition: remembering means we are safe, not remembering means we are doomed, don't gamble that controls you, let you control the gambling.

Playing other games on Steam can be a viable alternative when your girlfriend or friends are unavailable.
That's one good way to make yourself busy, and it's an effective option to soak up most of your free time so you can shift your focus to something else instead of gambling.

Question is; how would a gambler see if he/she is betting too fr than they suppose to? Problem is lack of awareness.
I agree, and one thing I did to increase that awareness is to track my bets and transactions through a spreadsheet. It requires a bit of effort, but it's worth the extra step if it can help me maintain my gambling activities from going overboard.

This is a typical  recall to stay in control and not get addicted.
But I also think that the issue of having a budget is one of the major challenges gamblers are facing now in the industry  and there are cases where people loss control as a result of losses and most times it seems impossible  to stay in control as one might tend to want to chase losses especially  as a newbie or when one couldn't afford them go of their losses.

Taking a break should be preached more in order to keep tye mental and emotional health  and state always in check and I think more sensitization should be preached on this.

So much depends on how you control your level of excitement, even if you set a budget, even if you break from time to time, and even if you avoid drugs or drinks if you cannot control your level of excitement, you will likely continue to gamble even if you already lose your allocation.

so if you are going to allocate be sure you have a method to lengthen your session so you can control your level of excitement along the way, if you fail to do this, you will have a hard time controlling your urge, and you know the urge is very powerful and cannot be stopped easily.

This is a nice call paxmao, and I would like to add some points.

*Do smart gambling and not emotional gambling.
The feeling of a win coming soon is what makes us lose all, and is better to walk away with something than walk away with empty hands.

*Learn how to lose.
Don't let your loss ruin your day, take the loss as an adult and move on in life because to lose is part of gambling and we need to know how to deal with it.

*Gamble to have fun and not to make money.
The money is a consequence, enjoy your bets and have fun while gambling, because playing to chase money could be frustrating.

Advice? I guess it is to not be dependent with gambling money in the first place. Avoid being dragged into the idea that gambling could make you rich someday. I believe this is where all emotions in this industry comes from.
Yes, usually people always think that gambling will make you rich and can be a place to make a living, even though this is clearly not true at all, if anything in this world maybe not more than 1% are consistent and get rich because of gambling in casinos, right what do you say, that it all started there from the desire to make a living or get rich through casino games.

My advice is also never to be tempted by people's invitations about gambling that it makes you rich and able to make a living, because basically the person who invites it just wants to get a referral bonus so he is willing to give sweet inducements to his victims, no one can get rich from gambling .  Wink

It seems that what is being said here is not to stop gamblers from being addicted, but to prevent gamblers from going further because they have no limit on how much they have to spend while playing. This means that with good financial control, a gambler can avoid financial difficulties or in the sense that they can play with money that they will not use for other purposes, such as necessities of life for example.
Indeed, everything will return to self-control, but at least by setting a budget before playing it can at least prevent self-control from getting out of hand.

To add up to what you have said OP. Most of those gambling to loss do not just do that on their own. Most are sometimes intoxicated and would want to accept anything that comes up just to prove a point to others that they are man enough to withstand anything in that case they begin to loose out and entirely everything is fine before they realize themselves they have lost all they have won and cam e with. This is my advice do not accept challenges at casino grounds sometimes it might be challenging amd  daring but do not try it to please anyone because most of the challenges you enter to prove yourself as Aman I casino grounds are nothing but traps to luring you to playback so they could manipulate the whole process for to loose everything again. Be wise, be smart. Do not fall for their tricks. Play according to your plans and schedules.

Question is; how would a gambler see if he/she is betting too fr than they suppose to? Problem is lack of awareness. In most of the times, playersold set an amount to bet for the whole day but due to the involvemen of emotions, things are not being followed as planned. Ofcourse it would be easy to say that you are fine losing a certain amount but deep inside there will be that urge to get your losses. And once you got your losses back, there will again that urge to come up with a win. Obviously, self-discipline is the bottomline but unfortunately not all people can impose such thing unto themselves. There will always be underlying factors which will interfere to your plans in gambling.

Advice? I guess it is to not be dependent with gambling money in the first place. Avoid being dragged into the idea that gambling could make you rich someday. I believe this is where all emotions in this industry comes from.

it should also reasonable in setting a budget that is not huge you should not using percentage on it you should set like $50 and you family should aware on it so that they can check on you time to time . If in physical casino you should only bring cash and not card and just enough money for your budget for playing. Above all it is really best to have self discipline on your self so that no matter how much your budget is you cant still loss it all
.-.But the problem is that most gamblers are hiding in their closet while playing
and this is the reason why many of them are turning into addicted one and yes a loser, instead of telling people around them so there will be guidance .

..they chose not and they maintain their silence in playing , and this is not how we treat gambling because if does? then we will be a complete loser all our life
and the saddest part is one day we will lose everything and even our own life.
learn to gamble with control and you will be fine .

While I agree with all of it, I must say that having some drinks while doing almost anything just makes things better, specially with friends. It enhances the experience, but makes it very easy to spend more than one has planned in the budget.

So one of my recommendations would be to only take the money of the budget to the casino if one plans to drink alcohol or accept drinks provided by the house, so in case one lose some control over the decision making capabilities, still there will be no money to gamble beyond the budget. Leave credit cards and jewelry at home.  Tongue
try to never have any substance while playing , because this affect our decision making , be a natural gambler and always be in control.

Actually that is also the reason why free drinks offered in casino houses , so there will be chance that dizziness will take place and gamblers will be uncontrollable .

I am aware that casino usually offer free drinks as bonuses to gamblers so they will be more likely to gamble more. But in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with having a little bit of alcohol while gambling (slots, dices, roulette), if we consider gambling as an experience which is supposed to be entertainment, then if drinking a bit enhances the fun, it is okey.

Perhaps, we could argue that is a different case in games like Black Jack or Poker, since there is actual strategy or decision making involved, unlike other casino games which only depend on randomness.

Aside from your point there's other more need to consider like making yourself at good condition before playing on casino since if you cannot feel any heavy inside or something that can stress you out for sure you will not outburst your emotion on what you are playing. Then also for sure with clear mind you can think about your set plan and can possibly have good thoughts about quitting when the time came when it needed.

Sticking to the budget is the best advice anyone can get but of course sticking to a preset budget is extremely difficult when you are gambling with passion or you are after an expensive device that you want to buy fast and gambling is the fastest way to such thing which unfortunately comes true only 0.0001% of the times you try to achieve it with gambling.I have been addicted before and since late 2020,August 2020 or something like that I have implemented this advice to myself and of course I overdo it a couple of times when rage gets the best out of me but in normal conditions I rarely go beyond my planned budget for gambling.

Yes I agree with that.  A weekly, monthly or daily budget of a fixed amount is essential to protect a gambler from big losses.

Taking an occasional break will prevent a gambler from developing any deep gambling addiction and panic gambling. But once you start gambling, it is very difficult to take a break from it because then a lot of excitement is born in the mind.

Going a bit far in gambling means we are losing money we can't afford to lose, we can't stop chasing some big win while slowly sinking into a problem. Been there, done that... when I was much younger. Probably every gambler goes through that period at some point, but some (many) simply go too deep.

Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.
Haha, good one!

But some of us wish to "lose some control" and simply have fun. After a long day of trying to keep control (on the job, with kids, hours in driving, all other everyday stuff, and shit that happens along the way) I just wish to play some games and relax! It's gambling, sometimes we will win, sometimes we will lose, and many times we will break even... but as long as we play for fun, with the amount we can afford to lose we will have fun and many exciting ups and downs.

Hi bro! I think
1. Set a time limit: It's important to set a time limit for gambling and stick to it. Don't let gambling take over your entire day or night.
2. Don't chase losses: If you're on a losing streak, it's important not to chase your losses by betting more money. This can lead to further losses and make the situation worse.
3. Take advantage of bonuses: Many casinos and online gambling platforms offer bonuses and promotions. Take advantage of these to increase your chances of winning.
4. Don't gamble with money you can't afford to lose: Only gamble with money that you can afford to lose. Never borrow money to gamble or use money that is meant for other important expenses.
5. Keep track of your winnings and losses: It's important to keep track of how much money you're winning and losing. This can help you stay within your budget and make informed decisions.
5. Remember, gambling can be addictive and have serious consequences. It's important to gamble responsibly and seek help if you feel that you're no longer in control.

Many gamblers done ensure the make this in written but fail is acting it because it has it own vulnerability that some gamblers find it easier been said than done, many will make it like a promise that i won't go beyond this limit but once they began, they go ahead far beyond they expected because they couldn't control their emotions anymore when they started.

Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.

As a professional gambler, one must give a break to cross check if there had been something he's missing out or which should have been in place and not, check and balance your gambling lifestyle and improve more in some areas, give it a new approach a d see if things will change or not.

Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.

Avoid getting intoxicated while gambling, it do you nothing than placing harm in your and affecting your mental reasonings, getting drunk also does not increase your chances for winning by any means, it rather make it more difficult because you're under influence.
