The contention is that if the likes of Benzema didn't play well as much as Sadio Mane, another non African would have been selected for the award. And I also do not just understand why the bulk of ballon d'or winners always come from Spanish league, maybe a reason why Lewandoski decided to move to Spain.

Now that's exactly my point, one way or the other, They must give the award to the la Liga side. Even seasons when the champions league winners were the English sides. You can't tell me the season Chelsea won the title that there wasn't someone that deserve it in the Chelsea squad even after Kante brilliance and Jorginho's numerous cup victories but we aren't talking about the premier league now, my concern is the Africa players putting us on the map aren't been recognize even when they were the best for the season. Truely assuming Benzema wasn't as good as he was last season, I bet you all the award would had been given to someone else and not Sadio Mane.

Truely Sadio Mane had quite an impressive season or rather impressive year in his career but let face fact here, you cannot compare AFCON, EFL cup and the FA cup to winning the Laliga, Champions league, Super cup. I'm not saying Sadio Mane didn't do very well I'm just saying in terms of comparison Benzema achieved more and deserved to win the Ballon D'or trophy.

Really Super cup? How many matches to win that one unlike the others I mentioned that you have to play multiple games and qualify for the group stages up to the finals and he Mane was outstanding in all those game. Maybe one or two bad games but still when his club or country side needed him he delivered.

Mane and Salah have being brilliant also and deserved to be nominated but lets face fact that Lewandowski and Benzema did better in these years.

What did Benzema win? The league and champions league, wait so who were we expecting to win their league when Barcelona was so poor last season? Seems you're forgetting Sadio Mane won The AFCON , EFL Cup, FA Cup and came second in the champions league & premier league also he was outstanding in all this competition. We have to start voicing out about the fact that only the Spanish side get to produce the best player of the season always meanwhile we aren't getting the best football from that league.

It's no debate that the premier league is the Best in the world, Manchester city was just crowned the best team in the world and it's due to their play in the premier league yet we don't get personal reward recognition. There isn't anything that African players will do that'll make them get their hands on that award, they'll always find a way to make their achievement look small and those of their counter part look more superior so they get a better chance at winning.

Yeah African player's are most at times robbed off what they're worth and should have claimed, but in the terms of the Ballon d'or, I still do not think Sadio Mane should be compared with Karim Benzema for the award, Sadio won the African Cup of Nations yes but not too close to winning the Champions League with Liverpool. Benzema deserves it honestly.

The true winner of the Ballon d'or deserved it. This is one of the seasons in which, in contrast to past years, I believe FIFA was not prejudiced in choosing the award winner. Sadio Mane truly excelled last season, although Karim Benzema was a step or two ahead of him. He deserves the second place and the honor conferred on him.

Senegal had an amazing performance during the qualifying rounds of the World Cup, all eyes are on Sadio Mane to lead Senegal far in this year's World Cup. Senegal is the strongest African team competing in the World Cup, and Senegal represents all of Africa's hopes. Sadio Mane won't let down the entire African continent, which has high hopes for him in this World Cup.

Quote
What got me vexed was last year when UEFA best goal keeper should have been awarded to Edouard Mendy of Chelsea but they pushed it to the Italian Donnarumma. Watching that got me real pissed.
Some award's also given wasn't worth it, Camavinga won almost three trophies but didn't get to win that award, also Manchester City as UEFA Champions League club of the year was a fat lie. That was way biased.

These are standard FIFA practices; they have always been this way, so they no longer come as a surprise. Imagine Gavi of Barcelona receiving the KOPA award. He doesn't deserve it, in my opinion, as there are other young players that performed better than him last season, such as Bellingham of Dortmund. But we are powerless to alter how the system functions in this way.

Sadio Mane is a very brilliant footballer. He is string and intelligent in football. He is an idol of Africa, while looking at him, You'll see the typical Africa man in him. Very loving and a born philanthropist. You will have no reason not to love that him, especially if you are an African.
He was able to reach second position even when he was not the main man in Liverpool.

But Tbh, He was not robbed in the Ballon d'or.
Benzema was a bit ahead in individual performance.
If you can remember with me, Real Madrid was not a top contender for the Champions League. But Benzema magical arts brought Real Madrid back into the competition even when they were almost eliminated by PSG. He did the same wonders against Chelsea and against Manchester City. Only that three consecutive matches in the champions league is already due to give him the award. He was the Liga winner and top scorer and also the Champions League winner.

There isn't anything that African players will do that'll make them get their hands on that award, they'll always find a way to make their achievement look small and those of their counter part look more superior so they get a better chance at winning.
I see the point in what you are saying. sadio mane was remarkable last season both for club and country and although benzema was good, and the argument can be that he also deserve the award,  the contention is that if the likes of Benzema didn't play well as much as Sadio Mane, another non African would have been selected for the award. Yeah, that's a shorter route to see his dreams of winning the Ballon d'or coming to reality and yes, he deserves that be on that Ballon d'or award list but was clearly robbed after they french media gave the award to Lionel Messi.
As per Sadio ? He did all he could do to have a great season, but first who are the sponsors of the Ballon d'or ? French media mmh ? They are clearly Europeans and will get biased once in a while. I don't put all of that to heart again since Wesley Sniedjer was also robbed during the year 2010 after he won the Champions League and was second runner up to Spain who won the FIFA World Cup at South Africa.

Ballon d'or are given as a result of team contributions and also goals score in a particular season ans last season, if you do due diligence and go check the statistics, Karim Benzema deserves it, it was his turn to win regardless of the fact that Africans are always been robbed.

So I just saw the Ballon d'or get awarded to Karim Benzema and the best they can do is give the Socrates Award to Sadio Mane upon all he achieved last year. I'm not disrespecting Benzema but Mane is worth than some charity award. When will they give African players their credit. Mane last season won  the Africa biggest tournament that he contributed massively to his country lifting the AFCON cup also as his side defeated Chelsea twice in the cup competition they participated in and won two cups trophies also his side made it to the final of the champions league and completed for the title of the premier league tournament until the last day that they almost won it if not for Manchester city brilliance.

I can also remembered the season Mo Salah played all the football he can and yet he was rubbed of the same title, when will African players be rewarded with award they deserved. Why create some useless award just to justify what is been done to African players. African isn't some charity projects and we deserve better than how we're been treated. Anyways congratulations the Benzene.
I can think of many situations African players have been sidelined in the past but this year Karim Benzema deserves to be awarded the Ballon D'or. His performance was outstanding last season his contribution when it cones to team and individual efforts was second to none and you say Salah was also robbed, the season you say Salah was robbed I think Lewandowski was robbed of the award instead but it was given to Lionel Messi who didn't deserve it. Mane and Salah have being brilliant also and deserved to be nominated but lets face fact that Lewandowski and Benzema did better in these years.

Mane may not be recognised in the way he should,  but the truth is that we the fans knows who Mane is, how he has contributed to every team he has been. We all know Mane talent is raw and good. Even if what he was award is not the best for him. I still congratulate him for the award, it is not easy.

I was happy when he was leaving Liverpool but not happy with the club he went to. Liverpool underated Mane and were the causes of his problem of not been put forward as a world star, the attention was always on Mo Salah even when it was clear Mane was the better of the duo even though Mo Salah was the goal scorer but before there is a goal scorer, it means the players behind him are putting on some impressive display to create such chances for him to score.

Mane would had opted to go to La Liga, that club he went to isn't taken as a serious club. I don't even think there has been a Ballon d'or winners in that club history or probably Mane would had stay in premier league to him any of the big six win the premier league and the champions league then there wouldn't be anyone against clowning him the best player in the world as his influence would be felt in any premier league top side he plays in.

Nigeria Vs New Zealand(4-0)- FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. So far the girls have been playing to my satisfaction and my hope is that they will be consistent and get to the knockout stage. I am scared of my hopes getting dashed. The girls have been playing as a team and making creative passes. Their attack is also solid. The 3rd and 4th goals in the match showed the determination this young team has to win the Cup. I hope to God they do.

Nigeria Vs Germany : FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 11 October 2022

Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team will, on Tuesday, October 11 at 3:30 pm (Nigerian time), take on their German counterparts in Group B’s first clash of the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. Despite their pedigree in the game, both teams have never won the cadet World Cup, and they will have high hopes of rewriting the record books in India. Nigeria have a storied history at the tournament, appearing in five of the previous six editions and making it to the quarterfinals stage thrice in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

The disappointment of the 2016 edition in Jordan, however, lingers. The Flamingoes finished bottom of a group that also had North Korea, Brazil, and England and, for the first time in history, failed to register a goal. The successor of that uninspiring Flamingoes side then failed to qualify for Uruguay 2018. The present crop, under the tutelage of head coach Bankole Olowookere, will look to bring smiles back to the faces of fans with a fine showing in India. And it all begins with a meeting against Germany, whose best showing at the World Cup is a third-place finish in 2008.

India 2022 will be the first time Nigeria meet Germany at the FIFA U17 Women’s World World Cup. But a highly entertaining match is awaited between two attack-minded teams in the Flamingoes and Die Nationalelf. The Germans are the most successful side at the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship with seven titles. On the strength of that, the reigning European champions will be the favourites against the Nigerians. A win for the Flamingoes will, however, set them up for a deep run at the Mundial.

What's your predictions?

Nobody is taking about how awful the West-Africa teams has been in the international break. Brazil vs Ghana ended with Ghana receiving a beaten of their life. Imagine Ghana couldn't score and were totally outplayed by Brazil in the first half resulting to them getting all their goals (3) in just 40mins of play while the second half ended goalless. Algeria vs Nigeria was another disagree, firstly the Algeria B team held Nigeria to a goalless draw than the first team beat Nigeria 2:1. It's one thing that Nigeria isn't going to the world cup but getting held to a draw by a B-Team is another disgrace as it shows how poor the team currently is.

On the other hand, South Africa defeated Sierra Leone with 4:0 scoreline while Senegal vs Bolivia ended in a win for Senegal as Sadio Mane scored the winning goal with a penalty ending 2:0. Cameroon vs Uzbekistan ended with Uzbekistan wining 0:2 and Morocco vs Chile ended with Morocco getting the win of 2:0.

Sorry this isn't the main FIFA Women's world cup right?
Yes, it is actually the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup . Sadly, the Falconets lost to Netherlands in the quarter final of FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. I just wonder how the team lost their composure. I mean the second half looked as if the coach didn't give them any pep talk. The goalkeeper lost her confidence. The defence didn't help at all. They failed to move the ball out of the penalty box as it should be. I didn't see any team spirit. It was just selfish play because I do not understand why some of the players would decide to shoot the ball directly in to the hands of their opponent's goalkeeper instead of passing the ball to their teammates. It cost us. Zero finishing. I hope they learn from their mistakes.

I saw that game, and certainly, I saw that they had many errors in defense and also faltered a lot in terms of attack, I think that the technical talk in the second half was also very necessary, there are times when the state of mind influences a lot, especially in the girls, they tend to have more importance to those things, but the work that the Dutch did should not be detracted from, for me they played impeccably, and what impressed me the most is that they played very well and it seemed that that was something normal for them, above all the sporting spirit they showed was very high, and that is something that must be recognized.

Super Eagles captain, Musa sacked by Turkish club
Turkish Super Lig outfit, Fatih Karagumruk have terminated the contract of Nigeria captain, Ahmed Musa.
The modest club announced the news on their various social media platforms on Friday.

Musa has a year left on his contract at the club.

The 29-year-old joined Fatih Karagumruk last summer as a free agent.

The versatile forward was also released by Saudi Arabia Professional League club, Al Nassr before the end of his contract.

Musa had a brief stint with four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Kano Pillars before moving to Turkey. He has made three league appearances for Fatih Karagumuruk this season.

https://www.facebook.com/482749575105792/posts/pfbid0GZdUqEmkFq1HQbQ4ZnkdTgFy1brEe4ZYVBp1JcQnSk61fuQBSK9oapHRjSiXYX42l/?app=fbl

I won't get him involved in my current squad if I was a coach. He is way past his good old days, was barely used during the African Cup of Nations, so I double doubt of he would also have impact at Karagumruk .
They should give younger once the chance to get more game time, they hardly give it them best anymore, all they go for is to take big funds and offer less back to the club.
No shade's, but everyone and club undergoing rebuilding stage currently. I call him football pensioniars as they are just down to take weekly fund's.... Lol
In that you are absolutely right, the most veteran players are the ones who can contribute something to the team, perhaps give them more security and give them advice in the strongest football matches, there are always football matches that are very complicated and that are they must have nerves of steel to be able to face these circumstances, young people, due to their lack of experience, are usually somewhat afraid of some circumstances in football matches, but they should be more intelligent and integrate the younger players who are the successor generations and can take advantage of the experience of those types of players who are called the old school.

Nigeria vs South Korea FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup was played today. It was a keenly contested game. Both teams were solid. But in the end, the match ended 1 - 0 in favour of the falconets. Kudos to the team, especially to Sebastine, Onyenezide, Demehin and Idoko. They now have 6 points in their group and move onto the quarter finals. Thursday is the next match. It is not over until it is over. They shouldn't get carried away and draw back if their ultimate ambition is to win the cup.
Nigeria women are doing very  well this time in football, their games always end with a good result,  they are more active and consistent than even our super eagles,  congratulations to the women league.  Even if they didn't score much goals atleast they tried their best to win the game.

Well, there is something that should be highlighted in this type of competition is that women have a very particular style of playing, and it does not only happen with Nigerians, it also happens with players at a world level, as is the case in Germany and in South America. , there is always that superiority that a country is good for football, whether male or female, in this case the eagles have proven to be a very strong team and when making the analogy with men it is the same, but it will be that the luck of the girls need men? knowing that this is one of the things that every player misses the most? so that they lose respect for them?
