if in an ordinary friendlies like this they can't make something really worth it then what will be the hope for the subsequent future matches that will be contending enough, i think they needed a coach who have good experience on the team performances and whose record is worth recommendation,

While losing shouldn't have an excuse, but have you taken a look at the team that played before placing judgement on the coach. His team choice isn't obviously our starting 11 and I'm pretty sure that was due to the players not been available either resting or taking some vacation from the juat concluded seasons. We didn't have our usual midfielders playing and a key players as Ndidi wasn't present and other vital players.

Now lets look at the formation 4,2,2,2. That isn't our best formation and probably the coach is just using this friendly to test his tactics and others players to identify the best new players to input into the team to strengthen it. The match ended 2:1 and the second Mexico goals was an own goal. Lets give the coach time and not been quick to judge.
Nigerians are naturally impatient. We love instant or immediate result. I don't blame them because our passion for football is boundless. But we must understand that a team takes alot of time, mistakes and sacrifice to build. There is nothing wrong in loosing a friendly match, what matters is what lessons did the players and technical crew learn from the game. It is better we loose all our friendly matches learning lessons that would help us win competitions and trophies. Nigerians must be patient and give the technical crew more time.

Isn't it shameful that Nigeria lost another friendly?
They are not just preparing good for the new Afcon qualifies.
They lost from the first half to last half.
The goal was scored at the third minute of the game.

Ghana won three goals to nothing against Madagascar
It was a decent performance from the black stars. However, I would suggest they work more on the set pieces. One of the things I observed during the game was that they lacked teamwork in front of goal. It was almost as if every player wanted to be the one to scored. There's still room for improvement for the strikers.

Nigeria lose again to an international friendly game against Mexico under a new a coach jose Peseiro , this is their first game under this new coach. I wouldn't want to use their first game to rate the new coach if he is capable of building the team strong again, other game coming will if the new coach is work or not.

The friendlies are best used to gauge the efficiency of the players, the coach does not care much if he loses let's say a game 2-0 but in that game he gets valuable information from different players and their form.He starts based on this information on how to build an even more efficient team and tries different tactics during the training sessions the team will have. This helps a lot prepare the team at the best the coach can and be ready for International important competitions.

I expect Nigeria to win their match and possibly give playing time to some of the locally based players in the squad.
The match of the round for me is Ghana - South Africa. Definitely not as polarizing as when the South Africans take on Nigeria, but there's still plenty of talent on display and a lot at stake, both teams would be expected to lead the group, the question is, who tops?
Nigeria have a problem of winning and It's even obvious with the way they play. They could have given Ghana a run for their money but it looked like they were just entering tournament for the first time and they needed training.
Sacking rohr was not the solution if you ask me. Ghana played Nigeria like they were newbies and I was so disappointed.g

This looks like it was an interesting game! I was just checking how those teams compare and to my surprise Mexico is on FIFA rank 9! Nigeria is 34th and seeming like a clear outsider in this match up, so their loss shouldn't come as a big surprise.
It will be interesting to see if Mexico can live up to the expectations of their current FIFA rank in the world cup. They definitely should be able to survive their group (Argentina, Poland, Saudi-Arabia) to play a potential round of 16 game against France.

The best ranked African team is Senegal at rank 20. Based on the ranks it already would be a good result if 1 African team can survive the group stage in the world cup.

As expected, the super eagles of Nigeria were beaten by Mexico, it would have been a surprise if the result went the other way round. Though it was a friendly game, the match was everything but boring, the Nigeria team couldn't break the jinx of mostly losing to South America sides. I think there are a lot of positives the technical or coaching department of the super eagles could take from that game and improve on before their next friendly against Ecuador.

Actually, this should have been a clean shit for Mexico because the goalkeeper made a bad mistake. Honestly, Mexico is the better team in this match-up. They played really well and created a lot more convincing chances compared to Nigeria. I really think that Nigeria was lucky to even get that one goal because that should not have ended up at the back of the net. The goalkeeper is going to get some stick for that. Mexico was playing really well and even if the own goal did not happen I think Mexico still would have won the match.

honestly I don't expect anything big from the African teams in this world. I'll cheer for Brazil or Argentina or even some other team in Europe

Firstly you have to understand that good facility for training, has a lot to contribute to players fitness. We don't have that in most African countries. Egypt with one of the best facilities and highest paid African League contributed to the success they have in the African tournaments. The European hs the privilege of paying with same team mates tgey play with as such their chemistry is still intact when playing international football bit you can't say same about African so obviously they'll be struggling whwn it come sro international football.

Also, irrespective of how good you're, when you're paired with a weaker team, your performance tend to reduces. The Westerners already have good players all round and playing in top Westerner leagues but when it come to African, the top players are been paired with local players which obviously kills the chemistry in the team. Until Africa has local league upto to the standard of the werstener league, we wouldn't be getting much from them in international football.

The biggest problem of soccer in Africa is in the corruption that the leaders of the country do. I will give a concrete example:

In Africa, the political party that is in power controls everything, they choose the presidents of the federations, they choose the presidents of the clubs and they manipulate the results of the games to make politics and if any club tries to put a president who is not from the party politician who governs the country they cut sponsorship, because 90% of clubs in africa are sponsored by state companies

as long as politics and corruption are in soccer, then unfortunately in africa we will never have evolution in soccer

Like I told a friend sacking Rohr was a big mistake at least give him till after this world cup...with him qualifications was never a problem,, I just hope this new coach finds the best out of this super eagles team,, because we the fans are tired of trial and error,,The NFF on the other hand should hands off the technical matters of the team ,they shouldn't influence player call up and player selection,,scout players that are hungry and ready to play for the super eagles..not players that wants to play for the super eagles because they were rejected by other national teams..we need to start giving indigenous players the chance to prove to the world, we had that in kanu nwankwo, jay jay okocha, victor ikpeba, Players that don't have the eligibility to play for other countries except Nigeria...
Super Eagles problem was never from Rohr, if they has given Rohr to stay for sometime it would have been better and I don't think think super would have lost in the AFCON and it would have been sure that the Super Eagles will participate in 2022 world cup quarter.
It may be truth that Rohr was not the problem of the Super Eagles of Nigeria but what is evident is all the years he spent with this Nigerian national team, he didn't improve their style of play. No identity whatsoever. In fact, they were playing haphazard football and just managing to grind in results.

What's the update for the upcoming qualifies ?
I think Nigeria played a friendly game some days back with Mexico and lost.
Trust Ekong was responsible for the last goal, a very big error scoring own goal.
Nigeria lost as a result of that late goal, it sealed it all for them.

i understand your point here but let still consider it that either first eleven or not super eagles remains super eagles and they fully represent Nigeria, we can not only build confidence on the first eleven, what about others? should we expect under performance from them, when the news will be carried, it will state that Mexico defeated Nigeria and that's all, though a friendly match, not using first eleven will all be a behind the scene other aspect of the story, the thing Nigeria needs now is a new football era, a total change of story, even the said first eleven we are talking about couldn't make their journey to quatar which means our confidence in their full delivery is low and change is the only antidote to it and not only on the coach but the entire system of NFF.

I agree because he’s a new appointment and in these friendlies he can test out various combinations and see what’s working, plus with their key player’s absent he was testing player’s to see if anyone could be promoted to the playing 11. Lastly he has time to turnaround things, and I’ll only judge him if his losing streak continues for a while but until then I’ll give him benefit of the doubt that he’s new and he’s trying to make things work.
