1. Promotion of the project.
2. Provide of liquidity for buyers when listing on the exchange to hold back excess pump.

It's works for good projects.
If I saw someone try to promote a coin doing an airdrop it would be tough for me to purchase the coins. The price can fall anytime.

It's very obvious that there are many hunters around that try to game the free coin systems.

It may actually be a good thing as most ICO are now overbought. This will make the coins more accessible to people that miss the ICO.

Just imagine these airdrop hunters had more patience.. They would be much more rich.

Several times I heard about airdrop hunters. They create many accounts from different IPs and participate in airdrops of different ICOs. But as soon as exchange starts, they sell all those tokens/coins. Did i understand correctly?

What is interesting how they affect ICOs value on the market?

For example, I am participating in KickCity’s airdrop today because I want to invest in this company. But I don’t think that all participants are eager to do the same. How it may affect the company’s future?

Btw, do somebody know about avaliable now Airdrops?
Airdrop kill the coin if they release too many coins. All the people do is sell their coins and not purchase coins.

Even though there are many of them, I don't think they infuence iCOs in anyway. Companies wouldn't do it, if it caused problems.

That's why I'm not the fond of airdrops. I firmly believe that bounty is better as they worked hard for it and have them harder to let go of their tokens.
Interesting point, didn't think about it!

aren't they getting banned for that?  Roll Eyes
Of course, they are. But sometimes it is really hard to check whether account is fake or not.
