Hi,
the altocoin market is so variuous and there are dozen of interesting projects that can be supported.

But  i'm a little investor (500$) and i'm seriously thinking to put all my money in only 1 project I think is very good which curretly is in the top 40 of altcoins. I don't want to say the name because my topic wants to be very general: what do you think is the risk  by doing so? Should I invest in 2 or 3 coins instead?

Thanks

Its a big risk if you go all in but at the same time it is also risk to invest in lot of projects . What I mean investing is risky so it does not matter for me if you invest only in one altcoin or not .
It seems to me that situations are different. I participate in Bounty companies and if possible, I sell coins at the best price. But I sell everything for ethereum, which is stored in my wallet. Thus, all my assets are in ethereum, since I trust him the most.
You have to remember that a cryptocurrency always carries a certain risk and a cryptocurrency market has always been unpredictable. Thus, despite your confidence in ethereum, you should still reinsure your hopes and opportunities by investing in several different coins.

If you want to know my opinion then I will say that it is very high risky. Don't invest your fulll amount of money into one coins. Always try to invest into 3 to 4 cryptocurrency to be safe investment.

It`s very risky, even you invest 500$ it`s not cost to invest in one alt. More profitable and less risky will be a decision to divide your investment into some parts and invest in other good projects too.

Use this strategy, put your money into a cryptocurrency with 30%, 70% on your money its a fiat. The fiat its really a important some times crypto down then you can use the fiat for buy other crypt. Your money not stuck on 1 project only

Of course, it's risky, but every risk can be strongly justified. If you put your finger in the sky and it will be the very asset that will bring the most profit, then you will immediately get rich! But if it is a bad token, then there will be madness!

Of course this is very dangerous. Because if you invest all your money in just one coin and scam the investment coin or it costs unusually low, then you will face many problems and you can lose your entire invested money. That's why do not invest your all mmoney in one singale coin.

I wouldn't do such investment becasue there is a big chance that you can lose your money if your coiins will fall with it's price
If an individual can have multi investments in almost all the good virtual assets with good output, why would he chose to get himself confined to just one coin that is not as advanced as the best coin in the market. It is of no use putting all your eggs in the same basket or there is big chance of getting them broken. This is actually the risk that can ruin you if there is a sudden fall in the market value of the altcoin you invest in.

I think the $500 is very suitable for concentrated investment, because the investment amount is not high, and concentrated investment can make you get a higher return rate!

of course it's very risky. if the asset that you invest is profitable it will become extraordinary, but if there is a loss your money will be lost all. You should divide your money into several assets to reduce such large losses. share your money on a number of assets, it will be safer for you.

Absolutely it Is.There is no way you should be investing all your money in a single entity .Just like any other financial investment it holds true for crypto currency as well.

You must understand, there is such a thing as diversification in investing, it means that you bet on several assets, thus reducing your risks and increasing the possibility of profit.

all the money in one altcoin is very high risk, we know if perhaps the worst thing is that the coin is a scam. but if you want all the money in 1 altcoin you can choose a potential coin like ethereum or bitcoin. it certainly provides security for your assets.

It is very risky to invest in one coin. Better of course buy a few coins from the top 10 coins. Their popularity is high and if the rate of one of the coins will fall, you can earn with the price of another coin.

One quick example.
Imagine you've bought Ethereum for $380 during the dip and spent all your money for one asset.
Remembering that ETH was around $1000-$1200 and is a constant top 3 coin you think that it is a good investment planning to sell it at least at $600.
Then another dip happens and ETH is around $190-210.
You are an investor now! Grin

It's a crazy risk to have all your funds in 1 coin, I would advise you to reinvest you in 3-4 different coins including bitcoin.

its not wrong to invest on a single coin as long as you know that the coin you invested are legit and well known but if you put all your funds in an unkown altcoin , then that is indeed a risky move because you wont know if that coin is trully legit or not .

diversifying his funds into 3 to 4 different coins is also a good idea to  minimize the risk of being bankrupted but at the same time it can also help out maximizing his gains .

No, it's risky and not safe. Do not invest all your money on one coin. Pick several coins with potentials, like 3 - 4 coins. If you lose in one you can gain profit in another to cover up for the loss. One can't really know what will happen, many coins you might think has potentials can disapoint
