Bitcoin is always the first choice if you want to invest then next to it is ETH as it also increases quite rapidly. You can go search online for other leading cryptocurrencies though.
Altcoin is the most profitable in cryptocurrency! Many people focus on bitcoin for profit and I must say that they are right in buying bitcoin for profit considering the kind of success bitcoin has experienced this year. But the most profitable coin this year is actually Ether! It has risen more than 7000%. Altcoin is very profitable!
If you have some doubts about the possibility of getting profit on the alts trading just take a look at the graph of almost any coin. The 20-50-150% growth is the common thing here so you have to be able to notice pumps and use them.

Obviously worth buying and both above deserved a long hold. Recently performed very well, these coins have great potential and could become big. Even any of the top 30-40 market cap coins I considered to invest too. There is always going to be a bad egg in every bunch, but the most upward trend as more money comes in. Bitcoin is infact the most trusted crypto currency as compare to other altcoins and therefore I think that for long term investment it will be more good to choose bitcoin, To me I personally have invested my money in some altcoins but still my choice for long term investment is bitcoin.
I think it is good to research coins before invest. Reading white paper, Analysing Road map of the project, Analysing marketing campaign of the project and team of marketing department are you have to do before buy coin.
I will recommend Envion coin and Tokenpay coin, i think they are both good.Tokenpay already has a successful presale while Envion will kick off theirs tomorrow.
In crypto world you will face every kind of situation, but avoiding scam coins you need to have good experience in crypto market, which one can get only through spending time in market, in beginning you need to choose small coin having little values from which you can just get an experience, and when you become sure that now you have got a good experience they you should try to choose good high value where you have more chances to make big money from.

I can't agree more with this.
As regulatory standards are increasing due to pressures from various financial systems and governments it's going to become imperative that concealment become necessity when dealing with these financial instruments. Privacy coins are going to become the standard for crypto currencies as the aforementioned entities increase efforts and legislation to move us towards "criminal" status just for owning cryptos. Don't sleep on alt coins because maybe one of them is silently following Bitcoin's path to success. Look at Cardano and NEM. They both have below 1$ value bust is starting to climb up the ceiling. Since they have big market capital too, it's good indication that they will probably hit the ceiling this coming days.
As bitcoin has started going down, a lot of investors are moving to altcoins. Some of these altcoins which I believe would shine in 2018 are Ethereum, Waves, Ripple, and Iota.
