I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin? I don't mean like a few here and there, I mean over 100 coins.

Try to look at these coins: Waves, XEM, Strat, Golem, Bancor. These are still undervalued. Study and Search about their platforms.

i still like waves i bought in at around $2.50 its been hovering around 4-5$ for a while now , i hope to one day see it hit $10 which i think is very reasonable if it continues to grow and come out with new announcements that are positive... i was on Golem at the beginning but it hasnt really gone up at all... not sure why its had no positive movement ive read a ton of good things about that project

If you want to do something beyond trading, support a token with a cause, especially one that does something in real economy.

Do you know M-Pesa? It was a great project in Africa and people moved from cash to cashless, some say faster than most western market. I want am supporting SLVR ICO because it is pegged with Silver, so it has the qualities of a fiat, without the hassle of it's issue (government etc)

Best case is that you can still trade your tokens for SLVR if you decide not to hold them anymore.

Cool one.
Africa is the next China/India in terms of economic development.
But I think it is a bit too early (no infrastructure yet for digital services)

I am more interested in latin america atm: they have the infrastructure (lots of people use smartphones and internet), and their financial institutions are rigged, their fiats volatile like crazy... etc
It is imho the perfect environment for cryptocurrencies, as it would solve most of their problems (inflation in Venezuela for instance...)

Rightly so, LATAM has tremendous potential. Slvr project mine is in Mexico, and you are right there will be an effect in Venezuela that other LATAM countries will try to seek for safe haven. So geographically and concept I am liking Slvr

Interesting.
I PM'd you

I research about alternative coins and Ethereum catch my attention because there's a core value proposition of ethereum that can be summarized with a single word: Synergy. So what is synergy? I have an example like augur-it is a one of Ethereum project that saying this token will also use as a collateral for the DAI. Synergy is the interaction of two or more organization so the point here, ethereum can produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. That's a Synergy.

Because business acumen or basic understanding of simple economic rules is simply NON-EXISTENT for 90% of the users here. If they disagree with you because they are tied to a coin, these 90% will tell you that you are an idiot because "you don't get it".
Add to that the fact that people simply refuse to sell at loss... and you have the panorama.

Therefore, you read 10% interesting stuff, 45% shill, and 45% fud.

Try to invest these potential altcoins they are ethereum, Litecoin, ripple and dash. One of these coins is potential to be secondary to bitcoin, you can review the current market trading trend in which their trading remarks looks promising. You may consider these coins as their value is much cheaper than bitcoin to purchase.

My focus is on:

XEL because it's a trully opensource and undervalued project
Waves because they have the funding and you can see they keep trying to build something big
AE because they are a new project with big ambitions
CND ones it launches because I like the idea of AI in blockchain

Any coin in the $20MM to $50MM market cap range with a decent roadmap and a full team (not "dev only") is a sure x5 in a few months.

Check the active threads and do your shopping.

Avoid the top5: Too big. Limited growth, at best las much as BTC.
(And I am a Ripple hater btw... :-) )

My votes are on ethereum for something fairly safe and deep onion for something with potential to grow rapidly.

In my opinion these are some of the best alts available as of now - elastic, etc, mgo, game, omg, waves, cofoundit, golem

And a very good coin ripple and Monero. I think that these coins have a very large potential, thanks to which the price will soon grow several times

As for me, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dash ate top 3 choices. But I think any of top 10 coins listed at exchanges are not bad.
