It is good to know the past trend of cryptocurrency which will make strong prediction for the future of altcoin. The leading coin Bitcoin adoption increased individually investor or institutional investor joined Bitcoin.
Where alts are stand? it needs to increase market capture and adoption of new investors,as many alts still profit oriented and hub of trading.This year for alts new era and adoption as well.

I belive to altcoins, I think that cryptocurrency need alts also people need alts. Altcoins with promising project will be till end of cyptrocurrency.
Altcoins have shining future, especially as Bitcoin's price become much higher and keep rising highly since a while, I think that many investors will think about buying more promising altcoins like Ethereum and Litecoin; and also investing in the ICO projects, so the market of altcoins is going to become a lot bigger.
The fate of altcoins depends entirely on bitcoin. As soon as bitcoin begins to recover altcoins will show a good growth. If the whales cease to hold the price of bitcoin at the bottom the crypto market will go up.

Altcoins are very profitable, you just need to pick the right one. You have to buy it at the right time and sell it at the right time. If you keep picking shitcoins then expect that there will be no future from it.

Maybe you should choose some altcoins which you understand. Investing your money in altcoins who just want to be the new bitcoin will equal in this. There are many altcoin who has some really good and thoughtful projects behind. But you have to do some researches to find those projects. But this is not a guarantee for success. There are even some coins with good project and good dev team behind, who are still worthless. So even than you need to have some luck.

For some altcoins 6 month of holding is not the time enough to get profit. Which alts do you hold? Some coins, especially Cardano and Qtum gained a LOT during this period. Ethereum is also a good gainer. Alts will be widely used in future in my opinion!
