Have a sneak peak on coinmarketcap and you could see there on who's on the top 2 on that list and that is ethereum, and if you find some supporting facts on it then you can actually find that on forex exchange the ethereum is been adopted same as bitcoin there so no wonder if there's something flaws will be happen on the top 1 then the top 2 of it will step up since the volume and mindset will surely shift on the ethereum.

Bitcoin is indeed the most accepted, used and known cryptocurrency.
But there's not really a "next to bitcoin" thing.
Highest Market cap? Ethereum
Most used for uses similar to Bitcoin? Litecoin
There's more things, but Ethereum & Litecoin are probably the best candidates for "next to Bitcoin" alts.
I see Genesis Vision is going strong with limited inventory thats too locked up for an year
After Bitcoin, followed Ethereum ,though other altcoin has good potential to come up in the future.
we know ethereum is worth after bitcoin, but I think there are some good alt and potentially future. dash, ltc, xmr and xrp can be an option.

In my opiniom, ethereum is the next altcoin after bitcoin used worldide as a payment method on almost all online shops.I assume bitcoin cash is step forward from ether in price but bitcoin cash is a fork,it couldn't be considered as a main currency.
However, ether is a currency litself like other altcoins. It is widely used in erc20 ICO projects
Ethereum, Litecoin and Monero or any coins from the top 10 marketcap has the potential to be the "next" bitcoin.
For me the next to Bitcoin is Ethreum. Because Ethreum now a days is pumping. And its a nice cryptocurrency. It will rise high like bitcoin.

For me it is eth. You can convert eth to btc so we can use it. For me ETH and Bitcoin Cash is next to Bitcoin. I also think that it is our job to convert our ETH and Bitcoin Cash or any altcoins that we have before we use it.
