Alts were overestimated during the rush in December 2017 - there were so many promises made by various projects that could never come true.
Since then some projects even launched their main nets - but that brought zero help for their tokens, which are still at least 10 times below the ICO price.
This is not the end of crypto, but definitely some "natural selection" processes are going on that would sanitize the market.

I dont think so. Many investors and growing revenue because of it their even starting new projects to improve they're technology and make the world known that such innovative technology exist. For me as long as bitcoin exist altcoins will prevail and continue to grow as long as they're investors. In fact many institutional investors started trading in crypto market.

Altcoins is not yet dead because there are still good altcoins left like ethereum, litecoin and etc. I think it is not good time to buy even it all has a cheap price because the market still not yet getting recovered a lot of coins is still red even bitcoin.
