There are so many altcoins that has shown huge prospect this year and great chance of performing and I believe 2 years is a bit long for them to even do better. STRAT is one for sure, and I am really looking at this coin for longer prospect among others. I believe that the coins above have a good future but an average cryptocurrency enthusiast like me couldn't afford to invest into those coins that priced more than a single buck
For long term storage it is better to use bitcoin. For a good income it is better to invest in young altcoins. Should check out UKG-definitely a long term hold as their already existing platform expands. Two to three years is a long time. I'm not sure enough to be able to hold altcoin for that long. No altcoin has better prospects than etherum. So I am quite worried if I look at other altcoin that exist today
I think ETH is still a good choice to hold long term even short term period. Ethereum is really a good choice and will never be dumped since this the chain which most ICO have been using. I may be wrong but I'm always wary of altcoins. I never risk much to keep their money in altcoins. But I'm glad they are. When there is strong pressure for bitcoin they enable you to relieve pressure
I prefer to invest for a long term earnings in some altcoins that are growing this year. It might took a long time to make your investments grow I am sure that you wont regret that you invest in some altcoins that you may know the future that will take you to the moon. So better try your luck into it and don't hesitate in investing now.
I would advice that you Just hold BTC and ETH for the long term > 2 years and altcoins for the short term. I like EOS, but I think it's something for a year, as this is the one to go with the next stage of Ethereum/Plasma rollout. But Ethereum will move on, new products will come up and new coins will come too. Eventually value are added to the main chain.

NEO and WAVES are the best altcoins that I think are worth investing your money in the long term. Yeah i have to admit, neo and waves are noth very solid projects. But iwould recommend iota if you are really lokking for an coin which you can hold for long term another nic option would be talimakan network token!

It's can be real for people who have patience and enough money to buy many promising coins. You can't be sure that noname coin would be expensive in future so better to buy something good.

I think there are a lot of very good coins to keep as long as it will but I highly recommend ethereum for you to buy and save because I am very confident in the next 2-3 years the price of ethereum will be much more expensive than the current price
I think you should check out Waves, it's really undervalued at the moment compared to the technology it offers. It has really big potential and I believe it could really take off during the next 2 years

If you are planning to hold your investments for next 2-3 years then you can choose any 4-5 coins from top 10 coins of this market after a study as all those coins have a background and they are in this list due to some reasons. They already prove their credibility and peoples choice. You can add Ethereum, NEO, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple to your portfolio for long term period.
but if you wanna trade for short/mid term, u can choose coin which already finished after ICO.
If you are planning to hold your investments for next 2-3 years then you can choose any 4-5 coins from top 25 coins of this market after a study as all those coins have a background. Long term investment in cryptocurrency is the best choice than to save your money in the bank.
I will make mention of Ethereum you should give this coin an utmost importance in the list of altcoins you want to hold for 2-3 years. You can also go with waves and litecoin. Apart from these I think you need to find out more on these coin listed and decide on which one you will be going for. There is future for the coins I have listed.
Also I am accumulating some altcoins. They are all projects I see for a long time. I bet a lot on NEBLIO,DRAGONCHAIN and ARK and some low-cost altcoin hoping for excellent profits. In general I think if you can identify the right altcoin, you can make incredible profits and make big money. among the low cost altcoin, I chose SOCIAL SEND, TRAVELFLEX and REPUBLIC PROTOCOL

Decisions would really vary on our own knowledge on where we do decide up things basing on what we discover or what we learn.If we do see altcoins that are suitable for long term then its our choice on what step we would make 2-3 year hold wont really be an easy thing specially if you are too active on checking prices because anytime you would really be tempted to sell out.

NEO and WAVES are the best altcoins that I think are worth investing your money in the long term. And also you can check out lisk which is almost the same of ethereum but provides more functionalities than ethereum and which is abelieved to be more secure and easy to use. But then there are rumours that waves platform would become the next priority of the ICO to be hosted on, like rightnow ethereum network is being used, and in near future so would waves be, I am almost sure of it. 
I think that Zilliqa (ZIL) is a promising and long-term currency for 2018. The platform is designed to ensure the operation of secure decentralized applications, the work of which involves the integration of requirements for scaling and the implementation of financial algorithms.
If you are long term investor and expecting good profit , you should not to worry, you can invest in good altcoins and bitcoins and Ether also. for me i am holding ETH,and waves. I am waiting for right time. when the coin price will boom i will sell it.
