Just rumors with no official announcement. A rumor stays a rumor unless it is confirmed. And the rumor comes from the fact that Amazon bought a few domain names related to Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies, nothing more.

Have you ever think that Amazon may have registered those domains just as a protection against cybersquatting or similar? And it makes sense.

Yes, there is no official announcement yet from the amazon, but the good thing is once rumors keep on spreading it might trigger the amazon to really get into it. I think news are spreading to test wether there will be big demand and if majority would support once it happen. Just look at the bright side of the news, probably they are really working with it. It would be a good thing to bitcoin once amazon got started, the demand will continue to rise and probably the price also will pump.

Rumors are also saying Amazon company will develop a new crypto platform where they called amazon ethereum. This is interesting. If they start up a new crypto currency, this can rock the world! I don't think they can accept bitcoin payments.

If that's true, amazon has taken them to a new height. The crypto community will have more options. Hopefully Amazon will soon deploy this technology.

Amazon and bitcoin can really work together and make the best out of it. Bitcoin is a really great mode of payment and amazon is a great online shop so if they will work together then amazon can attract more users and bitcoin can attract more demand for the market to make its price to go higher.

We could not preduct how they think, probably they will not use bitcoin and instead make their own crypto which they will as a form of payment. Amazon is looking on things which they will gain more profit and control. The rumors ate spreading that new alt is made, the reason they are doing this maybe ia because they want the full control. On the other hand, they might be also considering bitcoin because they will not be harden on promoting the new crypto thwy will produce. Bitcoin haa big number of user and it is also recognised by many. Si I think, they are still working what is most appropriate action to be made.

Do you think Amazon will accept bitcoin (in this year or next future )?

I dont think so because there a no rumors that the amazon will accepts a bitcoin as a payment. Though in the future i could say that amazon will really accepts bitcoin as payment because we all know that bitcoin is getting famous now.
Why not mate now a lot of the sites are accepting the bitcoin and this is the main reason why the bitcoin is being more and more famous a lot of the sites are now accepting the bitcoin and the value of the bitcoin will be high now as much as the time passing the bitcoin is increasing in the value. Bitcoin and the Amazon are the sites that have given the profit to the people who are saving the money in the bitcoin.

Do you think Amazon will accept bitcoin (in this year or next future )?

As far as I'm concern, this is still a rumor until such time that Amazon did really confirm that they are going to accept bitcoin as mode of payment. There are news saying that they bought 3 crypto related domains, so this must be sign that they will accept it in the future. But honestly, its better to wait till we have a official word from them. And if they did then bitcoin price will boom and be pump once again. Lets see how things will evolved regarding their decision on the acceptance of bitcoin.
There is always speculations before official words, that is pretty much normal. Probably, maybe the speculations would drive them to even consider it and make it official since they would have seen so much interest from their users and it would mean a lot for them being like the first big player to take that bold step. It would be a good thing and I really hope we get to see that very soon.

I think amazon should try accepting bitcoin since the risk is greater in the buyer's side and not on merchants because the transactions in irreversible.
This trait of bitcoin has nothing to do with whether Amazon will accept it. They will need to issue refunds when something will go wrong no matter what.
And most likely they won't be able to do it directly by sending back the coins - instead, they will try to issue a refund as Amazon wallet balance or something.

There's already multiple threads about this, and thus far no official word, only speculation and hopes.

As I said in other, similar, threads I would be glad if they started taking bitcoin.  Myself, I don't like to
spend crypto when I can spend fiat, but sometimes you need cash and sometimes you need physical
things, the latter of which Amazon provides, and does it well.  I would gladly spend some of my
campaign earnings, for example, on books or video games from those guys.  And I'm sure a lot of the
shit posters on bitcointalk who abuse campaigns to no end feel the same.  They can't sell their bitcoin
here because no one trusts them, and there needs to be an outlet for them (and people like me) to
spend what they earn.  I'd love to see Amazon start accepting not only bitcoin, but other alts like
doge and litecoin.  But we'll see.  As of right now, it's only rumor and hope.
I would really love to see amazon accepting bitcoin and that would mean a lot for the users of the currency, amazon itself and for bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large. It would create more awareness and then we see so many hopping into the train.

Amazon and other big merchants will have to accept using it at some point even though it is more of a speculation now, but it would make easy payment for international means and the practical daily usage would make the cryptocurrencies more relevant.

This rumour seems to come up now and again. I googled to see if there were any mentions in mainstream media nad I could not find anything. It is possible that they will somtime - but for now i suppose that Amazon are happy to take dollars and euros etc from everyone.

Do you think Amazon will accept bitcoin (in this year or next future )?
At the beginning of the rumors of this issue I was skeptical about its authenticity because before then amazon was not nearly as active in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. After that some time, the amazon side had more positive views and statements about crypto, though it was not so obvious, but everyone could feel it. In addition, the fact that they bought three domain names related to crypto, it also makes people feel it more clearly. I think they will accept Bitcoin soon, maybe next year. But we still need to wait for official information

I dont think it will be possible if i am the CEO of amazon i would not take risk to involve a cryptocurrency to affect my reputation as a safe trading industry. The risk is not that high but the trust is all we need to have in havung a business.

I highly doubt if they will take this decision due to the immaturity of BTC. Even they made this decision, with such high fees, what you want to do with BTC payment? Nobody will use it and Amazon can not benefit from it.

Amazon is well known in providing quality products thru online selling and seeing how it grow rapidly I think the idea of digital currency as a sort of payment can be adopted they can provide a system for it the only problem is due to so many fluctuations and risk of losing their money in an instant I think Amazon will do a lot of study and research before finally diciding to adopt bitcoin in their payment system

Now that the price becomes more unstable because of the cancelled bitcoin fork and the bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold pumps that lowers the price of bitcoin, the possibility that amazon will accept bitcoin is getting lower. It is a threat to them because of the fluctuating price of the bitcoin. They can lose money if the price of bitcoin will fluctuate to a lower price.

If that rumor were good to be true then that would be a good news since Amazon is really a good site to shop for some goods and apart from it they really have huge amount of goods. Would be Alibaba be on th run to accept some crypto too? It would be awesome if these two big companies would accept bitcoin as mode of payment maybe not for all goods but for some goods I think it would be nice.

For being a known onlinr marketplace it will be a hard decision.
The risk is there and it is not a small one.
There are many people now who are holding bitcoin and if ever they accept it, it could also lead to a big loss that might be harder to recover.
Just think about how we lose money just by holding bitcoin, whenever it goes down we are already in pain. What else for a larger scale.
Holding is a decision and not a must. Any seller can decide to exchange it to fiat immediately after payment and nothing will be wrong with that. Every currency goes down and it is just one thing we have to consider using the coin. In fact, it has gone up more than down in the past few months, so on a normal day I would not even be worried.

There are so many services too that offers direct conversion into fiat and if amazon decides to integrate that into the system, good for them and if they decide to go the purse.io way, then good for them as well, but one thing I am sure is that, it can work.

There is rumor spreading around the market that Amazon would soon accept bitcoin payments.Amazon users had been petitioning its CEO to accept crypto currencies.

Already,Overstock.com is a big online retailer accepting bitcoin since 2013.Amazon will not be willing to lose its customers to other online retailers deliberately.

Its recent registration of three domains in the name of cryptocurrency has made the matter more hot.Even if it announces bitcoin payments to be accepted, still it would take years for it to implement it.
