@smooth. Here is another story about a blockchain smart phone that is being developed right now.

 https://www.engadget.com/2017/09/26/blockchain-smartphone-sirin-finney-solarin/

I do not know what it is with you Monero developers but I reckon you have a talent to see into the future.

Is Aeon's plan to be a mobile device type of coin still in the roadmap? By the time the code is ready, the hardware will be available. Maybe that is in 1 or 2 years?

I wonder how would it be, if, aeon goes mobile mining and get a lot of miners. As I saw in bitcoin, the increase rate of difficulty was faster than the upgrades in hardware to support the high diff. I can't recall the last time bitcoin had so high diff to make people stop for awhile their mining. Meanwhile NEM (XEM) comes with this proof-of-interest, where you only need activity on the blockchain.
What i'm trying to say is this. Aeon would go half way (computer/mobile mining) or full mobile?

Can anyone check the amount of AEONs supplied at bittrex and say if that ammount increases ?
I have some strange feelings...

No one can check their wallet except them. Please don't spread FUD though. Bittrex is not running off with your AEONs. They are waiting for a code update, that is all.

@bbc.reporter Thank you for the link. The idea of a privacy-focused smartphone is indeed quite wonderful. I hope they are able to make a go of it. Most if not all smartphones are non-transparent spyware by design (likely including at the hardware level) and the prospects for retaining any sort of digital privacy in world where mobile is coming to dominate computing are not pretty.

If Bittrex won't delist Aeon, how about the hitbtc exchange? We have the same concern about delist from the hitbtc exchange. If the delist happen, how can investors still keep the coin in a safe place without Aeon wallet?

You can definitely keep Aeon securely by just creating your own wallet and moving your funds from exchange to your wallet. You don't need to run the daemon and sync the blockchain, if you aren't making new transfers from your wallet; all you need to do is generate a wallet address either using the official CLI wallet app or the wallet generator website (https://xmr.llcoins.net/addressgen.html) which is purely client-side JavaScript and works offline, and securely keep the wallet seed.

As in any other cryptocurrencies, coins in exchanges are not really yours because you don't have the private key.

@smooth. I hope you still check this thread because I have some good news from the mobile phone space that might be of interest to you and Aeon.

Gnome has partnered with Purism on the Librem 5 Linux based privacy focused smartphone. This might open an opportunity for Aeon to finally have a mobile platform to run nodes on, and maybe also mining in them.

As teknohog said, use HitBTC if you want you are a miner and if want to sell all your Aeons. The buy orders over there are now high enough if you want to sell thousands of Aeons. Before that market was only good to sell a few hundred Aeons.

The good thing is that since Aeon can't readily be traded, I believe it's artificially low. Hopefully when the update comes and Bittrex re-enables the wallet, things may get a nice pop... I hope Smiley
https://hitbtc.com/exchange/AEON-to-BTC works fine for me. I noticed this last week and promptly sent some of my Aeon there for trading.

The Bittrex wallet has been offline since early June, I believe (around then). Smooth requested that they disable it while he works on an update to fix some issues. There's been no hack or other major issues that have been encountered, so this was a pre-emptive disabling of the wallet, but it is annoying.

Does anybody have more details about bittrex Aeon wallet maintanance then they have in their FAQs?
How long has it been offline and when it might be available for deposit/withdrawal?
