Monero is based on Cryptonote and they make it dead simple to fork and start your own currency. Take a look:

Issue isn't forking, it's getting devs and investors behind a coin and actually making the coin worth something (both in features and $$$). Not an easy task.

I'd like to this project is as actively developed in the future. Thank you... waiting for more cool additions...

What do you mean? Restart everything from scratch again? I reckon that it would present more problems and complications. The first problem that comes to mind are the amounts in the wallets.

I have a Ryzen 1700@3650, and have 2,2 Kh... with 50ºc (ambient 35º) 15 low priority/threads with minor performance penalty and
80 W. CPU package power (HWiNFO64).

I think AEON it's a very good profitable CPU miner coin.

Is there a bounty for GUI wallet?
I am thinking about forking monero gui beta, seems to be quite stable.

I mined AEON with the hope that it would grow. As we see the price of a little bit growing, it's good
I hope by the end of the year we see $ 3 - $ 4.
For a better price increase, the dev must create a normal wallet without the command line, with GUI.

oh really?  it was like 0.5$ per day, same as Monero, now just a a 20% less profits than monero, cause of if skyrocketing Monero's exchange rate
but you can easily mine about 0.5 of aeon per day and send it to exchange on monero case you have to mine like 2 weeks..
that's why for me aeon is better

Most likely thats the case right now.

But since AEON is not just a straight clone of monero, it needs many adjustments in the code. Aeon uses a different algo than monero.
Thats what i can say from my experience in adjusting cryptonote pool to aeon.

AEON is not profitable for mining since May.

Original AEON was forked from Monero.

Why we couldn't take fresh Monero release and fork it again - the same way as it was done initially?

The code rebase is in progress though.

Announcements or promises just lead to fluffygates. You can not define a fix timeshedule for programming results. Even big companies in real life struggle with programming timeshedules, see reason why agile exists.

For a long time the core dev of aeon was alone. And since he was busy with monero and aeon programming, he has no time for marketing and community engagement. We grow each day and soon there will be a reorganisation/roadmap needed for aeon in my opinion to make a clear structure. We have many talented devs lately in reddit, who offer to help with the code rebase.

Even if there is no noise, aeon is making progress. Some community member are developing mobile wallets, some are enhancing pool websites and so on.

Real tech makes slow and steady progress. its never done over night. Aeon follows moneros way and lets tech speak for itself. We do not make huge marketing campaign on the internet or social platforms every week like shitcoins.

Is my view trustworthy? Who knows, everyone can make their own opinion on it. Only time will tell if im wrong or right;)

Aeon isn't a cryptocurrency. It's a lifestyle.


EDIT: Additional Comment: Why waste our limited ressources to update the old wallet if we can use those ressources towards improving the code for the future? So we have a clean setup and can take over monero features/tools more easily

I like AEON. This is very perspective.
But i think without any action from devs we can't develop it. Network's hashrate is growing up every day. This currency is very profitable now for miners. But i don't see any action from devs. No information on twitter, on the Internet... No stable wallet.
this phrase from devs " It’ll be done when it is done. I’m not going to make promises on delivery schedule of a volunteer-driven project." isn't so happy.

Why cant you contribute to this community project?

Please do not try to confuse the newbies in the thread. HitBTC does not need the payment_id for deposits and withdrawals. Their wallet was set up the same as any other cryptocoin's wallets. All you need is put the amount and the public address.

Talking about HitBTC, Aeon's daily average volume is improving.

Yes, depending on your hardware and internet it can certainly take more than 24 hours even.
