Payment ID is like a identification, so the exchange knows its you who sent the money to a specific wallet address.
When you check your wallet address on an exchange, you will see your wallet address and optionally a payment id.
Some exchanges use payment id and some not.

if an exchange does NOT require payment id to receive fund:
transfer 3 YOUR_EXCHANGE_WALLET_AEON_ADDRESS 10

if exchange does require payment id to receive fund:
transfer 3 YOUR_EXCHANGE_WALLET_AEON_ADDRESS 10 YOUR_EXCHANGE_AEON_PAYMENT_ID

In case of hitbtc i can not remember if it uses a payment id, does someone know?

please help.
i m mining from aeon-pool.com
this is my hashrate from aeon-pool

i open my wallet from simplewallet and I checked how much it was on the aeon wallet.
result: 0.00000000

i can refresh. nothing changed..

This is my first the mining experience. need help.. Sad

You need to wait for it to sync. It has to download the data for a couple of years or more (as long as AEON has existed). This may take several hours depending on your computer and internet connection. This is normal, all coins that have client side wallets have to sync the wallet in order to use it.

Aeon Pool pays out every 0.5 Aeon by default, you won't get anything until that amount is reached.... and it won't show up until the aeon daemon and simple wallet are synched.

Don't even open simplewallet until the AEON Daemon is synched completely and it gives you the message that you may now open simplewallet.

I wonder, is it possible to mine AEON with gpu as monero?

for monero there are several miners and they are seem working good

I stopped mining aeon, because difficulty of mining increased. This is due to the price increase for the last few days, many miners appeared new  Angry

If the price falls I'll start to mining.
And what are you going to use to get it?

What do you use for mining?

Hitbtc deposits need only wallet address.
To withdraw AEON need payment id and wallet address.

hello. i m a newbie sorry..
I created wallet from simplewallet. And I started to aeon mining. I have 10 aeon. How can i sell it as btc?

Create account on https://hitbtc.com/

Then use simplewallet command to transfer your aeon to hitbtc exchange:
transfer [mixin_count] [addr_1] [amount_1] [payment_id]

for example:
transfer 3 YOUR_EXCHANGE_WALLET_AEON_ADDRESS 10 YOUR_EXCHANGE_AEON_PAYMENT_ID

from there you can trade your aeon to btc on hitbtc.
oh thanks. EXCHANGE_PAYMENT_ID is hitbtc aeon wallet? true?

hello guys. where do you mine your aeon? i was mining for a day or two on this aeon-pool.com with ~4000 H/s and all i got is ~1.5 aeon a day, as the calculator says it shout be around ~4 aeon a day, kind of frustrating. will try  aeonmining.pro now with less miners

Curious, I think...

Edit: "Smooth -- may the force be with you..."

Someone should tell that blogger to advice everyone to use HitBTC for now. We do not want newbies to have their coins trapped in Bittrex because Aeon withdrawals and deposits are not allowed over there until the code rebase is released.

HitBTC has lower volume for Aeon but you can still buy some at lower prices. https://hitbtc.com/exchange/AEON-to-BTC

Good news on the progress update report on Reddit.  As I mentioned already there, I will be happy to help out with the testing if needed (be it either mining or testing wallet functions, transactions, etc...).

Yes, you can mine with GPU. The cryptonote algorithm (light or not) isn't much more efficient on GPU though. CPU, with it's local L2/L3 cache can go nearly as fast (assuming it's something recent) and let your GPU mine something else that can take advantage of the parallelism.

There are several AEON miners for GPU, check out the Getting Started tab on any pool websites.

Aeon has been around awhile and like Monero, it has had its share of problems.

You just have to know the history of a thing.

I feel comfortable that Smooth and his trusty sidekick (and I hope a few others) will sort this out.

When the sorting is complete, this coin could see some level of parity with Monero.

In the meantime, prices might be suppressed and create a buying opportunity.

When Poloniex allowed Bytecoin trading again, the gas pedal was applied for a bit.

But I'm an optimist.
