New release of Java Miner w/ prebuilds for Windows:

https://github.com/ProgrammerDan/arionum-java/releases/tag/0.2.3

I strongly recommend updating. Testing users saw 25-50% increase in hashing speeds. In some rare cases, 100% increase. This will vary from system configuration to configuration. Tested ~24 hours on my test systems (i7 7700k, Atom 2.4Ghz) with many successful share submissions.

Current benchmark changes:

Linux Mint 18.3, i7-7700k: 11.25h/s ---> 14.25h/s

Windows 10 Pro, i7 6600U: ~2.5H/s --> 6H/s

Thank you so much! This version pushed my i7 7700k from 5.8 H/s to 13 on only 6 hashers.
Great job

I can confirm this update from PHP to Java miner is worth it. I'm running in between 6 and 8 H/s now whereas before I was at about 4 H/s.

During the prompt when setting up the amount of hashers to run I chose 8. I think I should probably run one less for other processes. Is there a way to select one less while running or do I need to restart it?

Dumb question but can I mine this at the same time I mine with my GPUs a different coin?

Yes, you absolutely can.

I usually do Folding@Home on GPU while mining ARO on CPU. They leave each other alone, works great.

Any exchanges, dev?

Only a loser would ask about exchanges for a coin that was just released.

i7 6700k @ 4.2 went from 6H/s to an average of 16H/s, awesome work dude, what the hell did you do?

Allocate and reuse the memory that Argon hashes within. 512MB is reserved per hashing thread, and not released or deallocated until the entire program is terminated.

Something you'd never, ever do if you cared about secure argon2i hashing, but for speed hashing...

@q5503162   The wallets/miners in the announcement post have all been updated.

@z1ka check if your firewall/antivirus is not blocking the app.

i turned off firewall/antivirus just to see if that was the problem in the first place.

wallet.aro isnt updated at all, and i've reinstalled openssl binaries. tried with making another wallet, same story. wallet.aro isnt updated, wallet on website is. will i be able to transfer mined coins without having that walet.aro (somehow through web site), or they are gone?

@kiddo It's still on 4 minutes, just a growing number of miners and the difficulty takes longer to adjust.

I see.. Thanks for the answer!

On my 7700hq using programmerdan java miner I'm getting around 4h/s using 6/8 threads and 3.8h/s using 8/8 threads which I find kind of strange.. Anyway you'll get like 1-2 shares per hour so is not worth mining, at least not at this moment.

Also puts my hashrate at around 5.9 with the i7 7700k which should apparently produce 8-11 H/s.

Any idea how to fix this?

Probably... use linux :-/

Those messages are just warnings -- means, the OS isn't letting those "hashers" take ownership of a CPU thread. Could be other programs already have a lock, could just be the operating system.

Depending on OS, 5-10h/s
