Sorry if this has already been asked.

Who is responsible for fast pool switching? The proxy or the rig?

If I rent a rig running a custom cgminer/sgminer/bfgminer/whatever that has been configured/patched for - say - 30 seconds pool switch. Will this rig switch pools faster than a rig running standard cgminer 3.7.2 with 300 seconds pool switch?

Yes, it will be based on the settings in your miner. I use Kalroths cgminer v3.7.3 and i think he set the default there as check every 60 seconds, worked flawlessly this morning for my first customer.

one question,

for now 1Mh/s cost 0.0141 BTC/day

Can you tell me a pool or a coin that will give me more then 0.014 btc/mh/day??

Where is the use of such an expensive service?

thanks

You should bear in mind that to instead buy a rig, you are looking at maybe 3 months when mining most of the popular altcoins to get back the cash you've spent on the rig, maybe a little less if you pick coins wisely and trade well. This service helps you avoid the cost of buying a rig, the time of setting it up and the worry/work of maintaining it. Trust me, aside from the big costs of a good rig, it can be a lot of work to get everything running smoothly.

Plus, if you pick a good coin at the right time, you could easily make way more than you spend renting the rig. It all comes down to how smart you are with the timing and choice of coin. People who rented rigs for the first days of Vertcoin are probably relaxing in the bahamas now. Cheesy

But, maybe i'm biased since i am a leaser. Check out my rigs on the site (DigRig-1 and DigRig-2), great stability and a guarantee of good service from myself.

I swear there is something wrong with combining 2 payments into 1 and sending them to bitstamp or how ever that is done

This is the 2nd time I got 2 renters, both of them renting my #1 rig for 3 hours same day, but only one of these payments goes through to bitstamp, even though I sent an email to bitstamp showing them txid, they said this is 3rd party fault, not theirs.

I saw someone posting something like this 3-4 pages back??

Yep happened to me.
I logged a support call with coinjar and showed them the blockchain transactions and they refunded my missing deposit
Since then I have removed the 3 hr option from rentals so payments aren't close together.
There needs to be 1 payment per wallet per transaction.
So either total multiple payments together or split them into separate ones.
Removing 3hr rents helps with this.
Lately I've been getting long rentals so it hasn't come up lately.

Future request

Problem1: multiple times I notice "awaiting payment" for my rigs, and ending up into "Payment not received - rental cancelled". Losing 10 minutes of mining time. For rentals of 3 hours each time, this is a lot of lost renting time. Also, and i`m not sure about this, there is no penalty for users that do not pay. I could jam the system by clicking on multiple rigs to rent it, but not paying it.

Possible solution
Make a wallet dedicated to your site for each registered user. That way users can have bitcoins under their account and rent a rig on-the-fly. Both renter and hire person would benefit of this.

Problem2: It should be great if it was possible to make a queue for rigs that will become available the next 10minutes. Maybe even to give the current renter the possibility to extend the mining time.

I guess the people who use this service fall into the following two groups

1. People who haven't got the hardware to mine and don't wish to spend the outlay, so they would rather just rent it instead
2. Similar to above, people who want extra khash power at coin launches, etc.

Both situations rely on the coin being mined increasing in cost later on down the line. So although I may get paid 0.004 BTC, a few weeks/months down the line the coins my system mined increased in value to 0.01

If I was just getting into mining this setup would appeal a lot to myself as i'd rent enough rigs to perhaps make a few LTC. I'd then just sit on those LTC until the price increased higher (similar to BTC being $90 a coin and now $600+)

The current "Best rated rigs" is kinda unfair towards other miners as people vote more then once on the same rig and others get no votes at all as not all people leave feedback.
In the current situation people with 99 good rentals without feedback have no chance against people with 9 positive and 1 less positive feedback due a lack of score.

Best way is to remove the entire "Best rated rigs" section.

I also would like to see a few changes to the search filters..

Small < 1Mh/s
Medium < 3Mh/s
Big < 6Mh/s
Farms > 6Mh/s

Best Rigs section definitely needs changing, or removing if it can't be improved.

As for the filters, i think they're fine at the current values. You would have way too many rigs showing as 'Small' if you added an extra 1MH, because everyone with 3 cards would suddenly be there, same with 6 card rigs and the 'Medium/Big' sections. It's balanced quite well towards current card hashrates right now.

Feature Request:

As a renter, sometimes I want to rent a specific rig that is currently rented. It would be nice if betarigs would send me an email alert when that rig's current rent is over.

Is there any way for us rig owners to blacklist people we don't want to rent out too?

Hi!
I just put my rig for rent...but it shows offline.
Can you check please? username neo, rig:#1507

Best regards

same problem with me
already pointed to betarigs but it's still offline

the rig itself is hashing at my usual pool..

Can someone from devs make a comment on this?
btw, under my rigs show availability: not rented, but when I click on this rig, there is a offline sign under it?
Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Maybe use an offline wallet for the cost of the TX. I am using my wallet and sending everything to the exchange when I want to cash out. I never had problems and I think I had a few combined payments.

Give it a try

Easy fix, I never thought of this lol. I will try this! Thanks

I'm using cgminer.

Then it might be a problem on betarigs side. I didn't and don't have this problem. And I have switched between sgminer, cgminer, vertminer, bfgminer and the 3.7.3 cgminer for Keccak.
Right now I use cgmner 3.7.1 that comes with BAMT 1.1. I was lazy to compile the 3.7.2 version back then and now I am lazy to see if the latest BAMT version works on my rig.
