It's absurd to say that but i think many people don't understand or know that in order to update bitcoin you need to fork it, so sooner or later we will have to admit that bitcoin cash or whatever is the new bitcoin simple as that.
spot on
I think this will eventually hurt BTC, but lightning network should solve BTC scalability, #Mrpumperitis?
Still waiting for Lightning network...
Lightening network freeze coin in place on core btc chain.
LN use time locks, at specific time, money be unlocked so anyone you dealt with can steal your coins if they can get their onchain transactions processed before yours.
And to do that, all they have to do is pay higher fee to steal all of your Money.
LN not safe to use on core btc version.
Cool how to do that?
1. Hack a LN Hub and steal the keys, then broadcast the transaction before the LN user onchain to your btc address
(You could also just run your own LN Hub and steal the keys and modify the timelocks)
or
2. Trade with LN user on LN, keep keys where you have the most funds, then buy something to use up all of your LN notes, then when time lock up , broadcast the last keys where you had most of the coins in LN, you can steal the coins back and keep what you brought on LN.
or
3. Place money in a LN account , ask a miner friend to include the onchain transaction in their block that deposit money into LN ,
as soon as LN says you have money , have miners friends rewrite chain leaving out your transaction.
This way you have LN money to transact with and kept your onchain BTC.
(20% or more of the miners could collude and created counterfeit LN money all day, and people only find out it not real when they try and get their onchain btc)
Take your pick ,
counterfeiting coins is impossible onchain but become probable offchain
