Hello,

As i see that everyone gets to track their package with a DHL number (which i still have not although my order is "complete" on BFSB's website), I was wondering if you all guys paid the additional fee (around 180€ if i remember) to get the express delivery? Or is it the regular shipment?

++

yea, i paid for express delivery and my package is stuck in Finland for 3 days .... Angry Angry Angry

Hey Punin,

There seems to be a problem with the shipment of my Tray of chips, it's been sitting in Finland for a few days now and hasn't moved. I see others have similar problems so I'm not too worried.

Tracking Number: 8651877323

Wednesday, November 06, 2013   Location     Time   Pieces`
1   Shipment information received    TURKU - FINLAND   09:56

I'm sure its some inter-postal communication problem but could you please check it out for me. Thank you sir.

Yes, you are probably also in the same first delivery batch from 06.11.2013 ... which got carried to TURKU and wasn't picked up by DHL and still isn't picked up ... punin mentioned something about a bus who has picked up the hardware ... but there was a misunderstanding about what or who should do the pick up by DHL in TURKU ...

There is a problem with those orders ... I had contact to punin yesterday (a constructive talk, wasn't it?) and he should be aware of it ... I'm pretty sure he will work something out for us. Let's see ...

I ordered 2 days ago and payed by SEPA. I could imagine that it takes more time to send money from Switzerland.

Unlike the first time I ordered, where they gave me a leap of faith and trusted my mailed bank transfer screen-shot, this time BFSB probably waited for my money to show up on their account and sent out today. (Staff on duty?  Cheesy No offence, just jokeing).

Thanks again for being the most professional company in ASIC business. Your stuff soothes the (financial and psychical  Wink) blows I took and take from your competitors.

EDIT: oh, and thanks again for the tips with removing these little brown thingies. I better leave them untouched, I'm an electronics hillbilly.

For the Yay:

Pics were here...

one, I hope not too stupid question: can I just rip these little brown thingamajigs off the august h-boards, or is it counterproductive? If yes, how do I do it best?

August caps should be ok. If you want to remove them I recommend a hot-air station with temp set to max 340°C. They come off pretty easily with tweezers. We were doing 16 cards per hour.

I did that to two August cards, it's easy with two soldering irons if you don't happen to have hot-tweezers or hot-air station. 1-2GHs is what I think I gained.

Don't worry.

Maybe it's because they changed from UPS to DHL.

its doable, but its not really worth it IMO. youll save a few measly watts and maybe a bit of heat, at the cost of labor time and risk of screwing with a working system. Bitfury did it for both the above reasons, as well as to save the costs of parts/assembly for several dozen capacitors per board (likely a few dollars each pcb)

Bitfury has nothing to do with these boards.

my apologies - I was generalising the change being implemented by both BFSB and MBP

thanks for your answer, but if I got it right, BFSB removed them manually and for a reason. I see the same(?) boards, which came without these "parts" performing much better, than the ones with.

perhaps. i imagine you might get the extra headroom for 1-2GH at most. for me, its not worth the work/risk, but im sure you could manually remove without issue.

my feeling though is that they manually removed the caps on a few boards to test the theory, then simply changed the assembly instructions to omit them.
