guys, in your calculation i'm not seeing any reference of a customs fee, that in this case is a pain in the ass for a decent ROI. At least let's check that bitmain is declaring low values (like the amazing 120 USD computer gaming gateway Cheesy )

roi at 1 btc price  15% diff power at .15 cents a k-watt

16% ROI after 194 days with all the risk of being wrong on diff is NOT something to get thrilled about.

no other gear shows roi in 100 days.

this roi's in 100 days.  then sell it on ebay or another site your sale proceeds are your profit.

If it cost 600 usd in 100 days you sell at 300 usd you get  250 usd after fees    your profit is good  you turned  600 usd into 850 usd in 100 days.

not greedy buy for 600 usd now sell on this site for 225 usd in 100 days after shipping your profit is  200    so you turned 600 into 800 in 100 days.

no gear shows this profit margin as I type other then the s-3

There is a very large risk your assumptions about diff % are incorrect.

There nothing is better then this right now.

Bitmaintech will not give this away.  but .9 btc would be really nice.

 I would buy at 1btc

I would prefer .8 btc----- no shot IMO

I am thinking they sell it in the .95-1.05 btc area.  remember they also say there will be kits for s-1's

+1...

$100 ...in 6 months...are you kidding me... Grin

EDIT...:

Guys, don't get too excited...I paid 1.05 BTC for my last 3 S1's...600MH...

S3 should be less than 1 BTC ...IMHO...Like 0.85 - 0.9 BTC...

505MH = $505... Grin

Price of S3 should be $400 shipped ($.8/GH) to cover the risk of huge diff increase soon.

Otherwise Bitmain gets large risk free profit, customer gets very risky small profit.

Take my money already.
When Bitmain opens sales it will be sold out in 24h

Bitmain has cash to mint those ASIC chips like post stamps.
Bitmain will trash the difficulty with prooven ability to ship out 30000 miners

~Huhu difficulty will explode.
Shipping most cost effectively manufactured miner will be best business plan.
No need for dodgy powersupplys or beaglebones that corrupt SD cards.

This miner is killer by design.

Make it cheap. Sell it cheap. Ship out.

It would be nicely priced if it was 1 btc shipped.  Sell like mad and pretty much bury all competition .

I get roi at 1 btc since I have the  psu's  in hand . I have a gigabyte switch .  I have a laptop setup with router at .1.  not .0.

If I have a good one shipped to me it would be mining in under 15 minutes.

It will be interesting to see how this will be priced compared to the RK-Box with ASICMINER's new chip.
I think it's suppose to be available on the 25th at 1 BTC for 450 Gh/s.
From the pictures it looks like the RK is smaller, but I could be wrong.

Congrats Bitmain.
My s1 bought as early adopter on begining of December 2013 still works non stop with zero problems.
Paid 4.5 btc mined til now near 7 btc.

What was the price of the S1 when first announced ?
When bitmain started sell price were detirmined by auctions. There were I think 3 auctions where prices went around 4.5 btc. After bitmain sold s1 trough sushi groupbuy with price 4.25 btc.
Just a note, btc usd exchange were at that time at 1100$ but its kind of nobody fault.

Edit
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3769633

Found auction thread, it was for only 12 pcs s1 with fixed price 4.5 btc. November 29.th 2013.

Thanks for the info. I just read thru the original thread … interesting blast through the recent past.

How quickly things change.

This is incorrect.  The auction linked by alfabitcoin was the second auction.  The first (Nov 24) is at:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3697481
Dropt is correct. I just stated and post a link of auction where I bought S1 and not that it was a first auction for S1 ever.
Nevertheless, bitmain did not set a selling price, it was set by us - bitcoin comunity what was fair in my book Smiley
