No other exchanges had any issue with Blackcoin.

Until now ..

 You mean Cryptsy?
" Backend updates in progress. Trading is paused until complete. Balances may be incorrect until trading resumes"

Not a wallet problem. At least according to them.

we need BC/FIAT. so that they can cash out their coins without damaging the BC market.

we have this. why cant people just look these same things get repeated over and over.

where i can't find any.. and if there is any it wasn't been popular here.

They exist, they're not heavily used though, one is https://prelude.io/trade/usd/bc - I did easily part with 5000BC a few days ago as an attempt to stimulate the market. So there are buyers - but sellers are few and far between right now. Which is to be expected I guess.

It'd be great if MintPal eventually took on fiat pairings but I imagine that's a horrible amount of murky legal water to get themselves into.

There is a coin that is successfully testing multisig gateways and using fiat bridges with ripple to let them deal with the legal side. Full laumch is weeks away. Then you can trade anything for anything without needing an exchange.

If I posted a link it would probably get deleted though

Any chance you PM that link? Sounds very interesting.

Hi, you know cryptorush pretended some people withdrawed more blackcoin than possible. Is it true ? Is it related to the exchange bug or blackcoin bug ?

No other exchanges had any issue with Blackcoin. It was an issue with the way cryptorush did their accounting from what I understood. They blamed the developers of three different coins as far as I know for their own incompetence.

And I want mine back from them.  Angry

This is 2 hours old from the Subreddit:

"We at VPSBG.eu like very much the confirmation times for the Blackcoin - we might start accepting it soon, because it will speed up our payment process. That is way better than Litecoin and our third coin payment method looks like going to be BC Smiley At least we can try and support the community but we will wait a few days to see how it will go with popularity."

EVERYONE needs to sign up to the subreddit. WE NEED TO SHOW OUR STRENGTH. Is it acceptable to you that this post has 0 comments right now? WE NEED TO BOMBARD EACH AND EVERY NEW BLACKCOINER AND MERCHANT WITH OUR SUPPORT. There is suddenly a lot of interest popping up there!

If you want to kill BlackCoin, then merge with a stupid meme based coin like Doge. It will never be taken seriously as a form of currency it will forever be a gimmick.

I thought I was the only one who thought it was a horrendous idea.  Glad to see I'm not alone.

Would be too complex of a change to do and rollout to everyone anyways.. doubt this *can* happen.

The beautiful thing is that Blackdoge wouldn't actually require a change to BC or to DOGE.  It would be a completely new PoS coin but the initial distribution of coins would be based on each users holdings in DOGE and BC at widely-telegraphed point in the future.  Each user could claim their share of the premine for free using the private keys they already hold.  Users from DOGE and BC that do nothing automatically get piggybacked to Blackdoge.  If Blackdoge fails, no one loses.  If Blackdoge succeeds, both communities win because you've just made your coin more useful.

This would be the first cryptocurrency blockchain merger in the world's history and would make the news all over the world!  In fact, it would probably go down in the history books.  Why would having a larger user base be a bad thing?

Thinks about your potential slogan.  Blackdoge: meaner, faster, pure proof of stake.  The future of cryptocurrency.

Instead of claiming shares in a 100% premined coin, the concept of "Proof of Burn"  https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_burn could be used for this new blackdoge coin.

So blackdoge specification may be

- 0% premine
- 0 block reward from block 0 (no PoW)
- 1% PoS (inherited from BC)
- Coin mining through "Proof of Burn" of DOGE and BC coins - or any other coins we like to merge Wink
- meaner, faster, hybrid proof of stake/burn

Funny enough this "blackdoge" will be more like a black hole than orginal BC, since it will 'burn' the coin supply of the merging coins and will leave them void in the end. I don't know what will happen to the coin value of DOGE and BC, since their coin supply is cut Cheesy

But this is just the technical side of the merge, i guess the marketing side will be much more complex and harder to handle...

Just my 0.02 BC

The problem with 0% pre-mine during a merger is that then it's not really a merger.  The distribution of wealth for both DOGE and BC holders changes (in risky ways), and you will never achieve consensus.  You will just create a new alt-coin.

By cryptographically allotting the pre-mine based on the current wealth distributions in the two coins, the new ledger gains automatic legitimacy.  And it is the shared consensus within a large community that the ledger is correct that gives a coin its value (the value does not come from the coin's "features").  The value of spots of the shared ledger grows with the coin's user base and economy.

Yep, i forgot that BC/DOGE rate is not fixed and proof of burn would require and hard coded exchange rate Smiley

Nevertheless i like the idea of merging/harmonizing two very sucessful crypto currencies, which i think is (technically) the only way for crypto currencies to achieve mass adoption anyway.

The blast of new coins (good and bad ones) during the last month is not the correct way to go. The next step of evolution is either to

- eliminate all coins beside one through pure mass adoption (like VHS vs. Betamax in the 80s, or Bluray vs HD-DVD)
- or merge coins - like lira, franc, sloty transitioning to €

I know that the different coins are backed by different communities with different sentiments - but in the end all communities (should) have one goal in common: To create a crypto currency which is here to stay.

Holger

I agree.

Bitcoin has a huge advantage due to the network effect (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/empiricalmathematical-method-to-choose-which-cryptocurrency-community-to-join-572106) and the fact that it can assimilate any useful technology using a side-chain or a spin-off.

So I was thinking: is there anything an alt-coin community can do?  Or are they all dead-coins walking?

Then it hit me: just like bitcoin can do a "spin-off" to create a PoS clone, alt-coins can do mergers or "spin-ins" to instantly grow their user base.

This should eventually happen because anyone could code the Blackdoge "spin-in" and release it in the wild and earn a profit from the information asymmetry.  BC and DOGE holders would be happy, since their coins are preserved in the new Blackdoge ledger for no cost to them.  Some BC or DOGE holders might dump at say a 1:100 discount, but a whale will buy those and then slowly push the price up.  Eventually Blackdoge would appear more legitimate than BC or DOGE and everyone is happy except the people who fought the merger by dumping their free coins for too cheap (but there is no real benefit to fighting the merger because the merger is essentially risk free so why would you do it).

Perhaps over the coming year, a lot of coins will die, but a few will survive by merging blockchains.  Perhaps you'll end up with Bitcoin as the dominate PoW coin, and a "super merged" ledger of all the successful alts using the PoS technology.

Interesting to think about.

I do not know how the topic of BlackCoin being merged with Doge or any other coin got started, but please stop wishing, it will never happen. Too much is going on behind the scenes to ever let that happen. If that were to happen I would be the first to sell off my holdings and leave. BlackCoin doesn't need Doge or any other coin to survive. Maybe Mint should merge with Doge. You could call it MintyDoge..

Operation Arm Twist!!!

In just a few months BlackCoin has proven itself time and time again. We have broken numerous records on Mintpal, and literally broken Mintpal in the process. BlackCoin has the most volume than any other coin on Mintpal, and Mintpal has made a lot of money from BlackCoin. It is now time for BlackCoin to go to the next level and get its own pairs. I am thinking BC/Doge and maybe BC/Mint. Many of you would like to pitch in but don't know how, well this is a way you can make a difference. Please take 5 minutes and email Mintpal. Aske them to give BC its own pairs. Let keep emailing them every day until they make it happen!!!

Why do you want a BC/Mint pair? I thought you hated Mint?
If someone want dump Minted Mint into fresh BC is allways good idea ^^ do it directly

I highly doubt anybody (who hasn't already) is going to be dumping their Mint for BC after what we have seen on the markets lately.. Seriously though, it is an honest question, Mint is not currently one of the highest volume coins on Mintpal so why would you want to pair it with BC if you are looking for more volume?

It is to start and it would be also ironic Smiley

IronicExpert Wink

Would this signify a bridging/reconciliation of the two communities!? It would be great to see people getting along across different coins.

I still don't get it from an economic point of view, though, you might as well start with the highest volume coins if your goal is volume.

I honestly do not care what pairs it is, as long as BC gets its own pairs. I suggest MINT mostly for a bit of levity.
