Even if the onion address from the announcement appears active, if you actually try the mixing process by clicking on "Start Mixing", you will receive the same message about the seizure of the entire mixer platform and all its contents from the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).

ah ok is was afraid of a little bit to do so,
so thnx for still pointing this out

So, is chipmixer now compromised or just restricted on clearnet.

What do u think guys

best regards

All service types have been restricted and will never be restarted again. They have stopped their service for law enforcement and in this case, there is no way to stop in some way and running into another.

Chipmixer is seized and doesn't exist anymore so be careful if someone suggest you a clearnet or tor link and claim it to be Chipmixer. The mixer used to be among the top Bitcoin mixers but it was seized because the authorities found money laundering activities on it. The game of Chipmixer is over and you need to keep that in your mind.

Since the post was made he has been posting intermittently (and we do not know why he chose to frequent here less) but what you mentioned does make sense. Without making references to any particular members and stating this in a generic manner, many members have to eventually step back from the forum because real life matters keep us busy.

And how many here really do have more than one account? That is a good question.

<...>
I am not doing any investigation, just wondering why did he disappear, is he really afraid that his connection with owners may cause him trouble? Because this definitely is not a rest. Hope everything is alright.

We can only speculate, but it looks like he's doing fine. We can see recent activity on his account and some blockchain transactions in wallets he's used before. So my guess is that he just wants to keep a low profile and distance himself from his forum account. I'd probably do the same if I were in his shoes, after the whole ChipMixer situation. Regarding his role in the CM campaign, I think you'd have similar questions if it were any other campaign manager. I can't say who the most popular manager was back then, but I can see that DarkStar was quite active and had a good reputation even before the CM campaign.

Besides, it's not uncommon for active members to eventually step back from the forum. Real life keeps us all busy. If we look at how he's been using the forum over the last few years compared to before, it's clear that he's been slowing down his activity. Based on ninjastic.space, he only posted around 250 times last year, which is way less than what he used to post in previous years. Plus, who's to say that DarkStar is his only account here? He could still be around incognito, and we wouldn't even know it.  Wink

The backend, server data, and hosting have been accessed by law enforcement authorities and this service will not work again. Any other site promoting this service is a scam, or at least you should not trust them with the same trust as chipmixer.

The better wording to use would be that it got seized by the Law Enforcement Authorities… both the Clearnet and the Tor, that is to say, are currently unusable. Any other domain that seems to work is probably a phishing site or clone scam. Just read through the last posts of this thread and also use your search engine. You will get all the necessary information required.

Farewell LEO, you *will* be missed.
I don't understand why this post gets merits.

Because some people have found it useful.

Because this definitely is not a rest. Hope everything is alright.

While it's nice of you care about him, you may be overthinking it.
I can tell my example: in the first months of this year I've got more and more busy irl (especially due a new job irl) and I've obviously got much more silent.
Yeah, it (strangely) partly overlapped with CM demise. So?

So there can be - I don't say it is so or not - that he got busy irl.
And it can be - again, I don't say it is or not - that he decided to take a break to avoid unnecessary attention (on the forum and beyond) due to Chipmixer's legal problems.

Unless he wants to say anything about it, we will probably not know and making suppositions (and waves!) is also not helpful.

To answer your question: Number 1, we don't know him personally, but DarkStar has been here since 2015; he's quite popular and trusted here on Bitcointalk, just so you know. As far as I know, he rarely manages signature campaigns because he focuses on managing the Chipmixer signature campaign. Number 2, he didn't disappear; he's just taking some rest, as he stated in his signature space. He might want to not get involved in what's happened with Chipmixer.

Regarding Chipmixer's owner and the situation happened to Chipmixer case, this article might help to answer you question: Germany and U.S. Seize Over $46M Crypto Tied to ChipMixer Investigation
I don't understand why this post gets merits.
Maybe try asking JayJuanGee and NotATether because they're the ones who sent merit to that post.

Why did Chipmixer choose him for signature campaign when there were many other experienced signature campaign managers?
I already said that might be the reason it is trusted and popular. But if you really want to know the right answer, try asking ChipMixer or DarkStar_; they're the only one who know about their deal signature campaign management.

Is he really just taking some rest?
Try to ask him if he really is.

You also said that he is trusted (trust rating), but right now it looks like you don't trust him because of the way you asked the question. IMO.

I don't understand why this post gets merits. I can see myself that he registered on this forum in 2015 and I can see that his trust rating is very high but my question is, why did Chipmixer choose him for signature campaign when there were many other experienced signature campaign managers? I bet he was one of the least experienced one but correct me if I'm wrong here, don't know well what was happening years ago.
Is he really just taking some rest? Because he has an active loan giveaway thread and doesn't even care about active loans or am I wrong?

I am not doing any investigation, just wondering why did he disappear, is he really afraid that his connection with owners may cause him trouble? Because this definitely is not a rest. Hope everything is alright.

Does anybody have any contact with DarkStar_ outside of this forum? He has made no posts since 13th April 2023 and his last login was on 20th August 2023.

1.30807482[1] bitcoins were withdrawn from chipmixer signature campaign funds. This was done on 2023-08-19.
Does anyone know if @DarkStar_ did this?

It has to be him (judging by the amount of BTC in there, I'm pretty sure this is the case), otherwise that means his wallet is compromised.
If it is for him, according to his last comment that the payments for the last week will be sent, did you receive any payments for the last week?

Yes, we all did, two weeks after the seizing event. There's no reason to talk about that anymore.

I really wonder:
1. Who is Darkstar? How did the collaboration between him and Chipmixer happen? Why did Chipmixer chose him instead of other famous signature campaign managers? As I see, he has rarely managed sig campaigns.
2. Why did he disappear after the Chipmixer incident? Is he afraid that he may get caught?

By the way, what happened to Chipmixer owner, is he arrested or is he in the list of most wanted people?

Darkstar is one of the most reputed members of the forum and he has been doing good on forum for a long time. The collaboration between campaign manager and platform representative happens via private messages on forum also on Telegram. I'm quite sure that Chipmixer representative has chosen Darkstar to manage the campaign and they both agreed with the terms of the deal.

He isn't managing any campaigns after the seizing event of Chipmixer by governmental authorities of US and Germany, but in past he managed Chipmixer and a few other campaigns. The Chipmixer incident was a shock for him as well and that's why he wanted to have some free time in order to forget about it. Whatever happened with Chipmixer wasn't the fault of Darkstar because he hadn't done anything wrong.

Also, the cost of managing one week in the campaign is 0.4, and the amount of 1.3 is sufficient for about 3 weeks. Should it be refunded to ChipMixer*, or should it be to DarkStar_ or what?
Have the participants been paid? If they have been paid, why do we bother? It can be DS, it can be CM or whoever it is. Let DS and other party to handle that. It's none of your/our money. If DS haven't paid the participants, I guess he must use that fund.
My bad if I sound harsh. In another thread, people are discussing about what will happen to the remaining fund of WWM. Some is expecting to get divided into signature campaign participants and manager. How come! Is this money yours? No. Then why we are even thinking about that fund. MJ is the escrow of that fund. He knows the escrow term and what should the fund be used for.

I think this address bc1q29xpuw8mx9933xed7t6r03yge42zf2rqmevntm belongs to a government agency given that the balance has about 50 bitcoins

* I don't know how that will happen.
It can't be because I see from this address that it received some Bitcoin from Freebitco.in and Binance US.

6 months ago this address received bitcoin from Binance US about 0.016 BTC
After the Chipmixer address sent all BTC to this address not long after this address received about 1,154 from Freebitco.in.

I really never knew, but my guess is that this is not government owned.

As you can see if you check that address, last signature payment was made on March 12 and I don't remember getting payment for those few days (campaign ended on March 15th) that campaign lasted from some other address.

As ChipMixer has been seized, the campaign is now ended. Outstanding payments will be made later this week.
