the project seems interesting to me. tell me, I probably do not understand something. but why should normal projects carry airdrop? it seems to me that only incomprehensible projects with coins that are not very good do this.
The reasoning behind airdrops:
1. they should gain people's attention, i.e. make them aware that a new coin is there to be had / used
2. they contribute towards spreading a smaller amount of coins over a larger group of people (hence are doing a part of the work towards decentralisation)
Pulling a full-scale, clean airdrop without any issues is not an easy task to do, since one has to put up a website with a "bullet proof" application system, not only from technical but from organisational point of view (i.e., what are the requirements for participation, how much coin will get distributed per person, anti-abuse methods should be in place and so on) - that is, I believe, the main reason for varying success of different airdrops in general.
