I'm going to give KopiemTu a shot later today. Hope it works with my wireless adapter (Linksys AE2500, doesn't work in Ubuntu though) but if not I have one that should work fine with Linux.

Since KopiemTu 1.3 and the driver update, you can OC your card with the nvidia-settings tools.
But by default, only the GPU 0 has it feature enabled (the only GPU declared by default).
The others GPU are recognized, but the coolbit option (OC enabling option in linux) is not set.
There is a trick, you have to edit the linux config file to declare the others GPU, then, the OC settings will enabled.

It's a little bit more tricky than Windows, but, this is a one-time modification, after this, your rig will be OC ready

I agree, It's not a Windows/Linux fight.
We are a community of Nvidia miners

But I have to admit, that I start mining in december ... and I have never mine on Windows.
For those know don't have a Windows licence, the linux alternative is really good.
My Kopiemtu/ccminer/750ti rig is far more stable than my SMOS/sgminer/7950.

Just one things have force me to test a Windows rig for Nvidia, it was the OC feature missing. But with the KopiemTu 1.3 and the driver update, it's also possible on Linux.

But this is not the thread to discuss about mining distro. If interessted, just ask some question on the KopiemTu thread or in pm

The windows users have to try it for themself, before the really know what its like to use a easy to use and stable linux rig with failover support. There are so many reasons for KopiemTu and you do really good work in supporting the users.

The main reason I tried kopiemtu some time ago was - i ran out of windows lic's Grin

and every AMD user were so happy about their BAMT.
After taking some time to get into kopiemtu, it became the only way I could think of operating a few rigs without having to look all the time - if there is some problem with the pool or the system. It is really no work to set them up and absolute stable... fire and forget.

Before I wasted lot of hashes with not having failover support using windows. Now I ran those rigs for weeks without any reboot.
I could go for a vacation and see if everything is fine with your http monitor (via vpn connect)... and switch the algos with via ssh.

To get it clear - this should not be a linux vs. windows post.
I have many windows boxes and a win server... and could live with Wink

But Kopiemtu made my life a little bit easier.

Rig1: Corsair PSU CS750m gold,Asrock H81BTC,Pentium G3220,4Gb DDR3, 6x Gainward 750Ti OC-ed to max, unpowered cheapo ribbon cable risers, old HDD, win7x64 no issues with different algos for months.
Rig2: Same config. except VGA cards are MSI 750 non-ti with max oc, nov runing x11 and x13 without issues for weeks.

With less RAM, The ccminer generate a lot of errors in my configuration. The only fix that works was to add more RAM, if not the CPU goes 100% and ccminer goes crazy.
May it's because of my low-end CPU in the rig, but on Kopiemtu, 2-4Go is enough whatever the algo

TeamViewer is definitely supported in Linux - see above Wink

Even better - TeamViewer is ready for work in KopiemTu - and the only thing you maybe need is dummy DVI plug
or 3x 75 Ohm resistors, but only if you have a headless rig.

No need for --difficulty-multiplier 256, I just use "ccminer.exe -a qubit -o stratum+tcp://deep.suprnova.cc:3222 -u USER -p PASS", the same way you did with your solo mining.

Anyone mining deepcoin? It becoming hard to continue solo mining it, to mine on a pool, they say you have to add --difficulty-multiplier 256 to your command line. Is there an equivalent command for ccminer?

I think your usb cables on the risers are too long, they're too cheap in quality, or the risers are too loose in the slots.

I have the same AMD board and mine are all pretty loose in the slots and I always seem to have problems if the usb cables are running next to each other or bent around too much. They are really cheaply made and I don't think they carry the signal that well without interference. The 18 inch usb cables on my other risers seem to be fine even though they are cheap quality as well, but it has been nothing but problems with the 3 foot ones. I have them positioned in such a way right now where they are stable, but I don't think I can overclock as high as I could with better cables.

You also might want to check cpu usage on that. I'm running an old dual core phenom from a pc i got for free and it's regularly at 50-70% cpu usage with ccminer and connecting through teamviewer. It seems to get unstable if it's using 70% constantly and the overclocks are too high. The motherboard heatsinks get really hot on the 990FX chipset which may have been part of the problem as well. I positioned a fan to blow right on the motherboard which seems to have helped a lot.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I was gone for a few hours and thought about it while I was away. I figured I'd try putting two or three cards directly into the PCI-e 16x slots and save the last one or two for risers. I think I'll go try that now, and see if there's any difference.
