I think mainstream media is going to be the way to promote this coin.. The cryptocurrency 'scene' is pretty incestuous and skeevy. What we want is to target the average Wired reader.

Today I start fundraising to get the promotion of CureCoin off the ground. If you would like to see the marketing for this coin go viral; I would suggest donating as 100% of the proceeds go towards marketing campaigns. Goals: To get a booth set up we will need $2000 or roughly 4 BTC just for the booth. To hit premier sponsor we will need $25,000 or roughly 50 BTC.
Why don’t I just buy coin to maximize my investment? Another great question, if you’re already holding CureCoin, the amount you would buy will not change current prices. Anybody measured electricity usage while folding? My R9 290s are running cool (as in cool to the touch), which makes me think they're probably not using much electricity. OTOH, I'm only getting about 140k PPD from each of them, not sure why.
I use about 70% of what I used prior (based on my daily power consumption charts from my power company) after changing from Scrypt->folding. Along with this, less cooling is needed so it saves even more.
My rigs with 4 Radeon 280x cards (undervolted) and g1610 are pulling 550W-600W from the wall and I am only using bronze PSU's. Back in the days when I used to mine scrypt those rigs were pulling 1150W. So for me folding uses 50% of what scrypt uses. Though my cards are now heavily undervolted @ 1020Mhz / 0.956-0.975Mv which was not achievable with scrypt @ 1080Mhz

So what the news are?
The news is so far everything with CureCoin is running smooth. I've receive the coins at the same time every day with no issues. I also use about 50% of the power I was using when mined Scrypt. Time to join the fun if you haven't already.
Also team CureCoin is already in 20th place. We are already making a difference!
Huh, I feel a big enthusiasm
You know from my previous posts before the launch I was waiting for this one because I was getting a little grumpy about it.
I'm really happy about the launch though. It was quite smooth compared to other launches I've been part of. If you look at the team stats we have a tremendous amount of processing power already going in CureCoin. I suspect this is something that F@H has never seen before in terms of the sheer number of points per day one team put together in a little over two weeks.I hope this is a wake up call to many others that this is viable and we can use our processing power for a good reason and possibly get rewarded while we do it. I'm still dreaming that this is the future of crypto. I'm quite curious to see how many years we shave off of research as more and more people do it.
I also wonder when or if F@H will acknowledge CureCoin at some point.
