So here's my critique of the coin so far:

+ Coin benefits cancer research - pretty awesome
+ Folding requires less electricity than mining - saves money
+ SHA256 mining - people with GPUs will fold rather than mine

- no merged mining - the coin would be more stable if it was merge-mined so that ASIC miners didn't have to quit mining bitcoin or litecoin in order to mine this
- premine - the right way to distribute the coins is *not* a premine.  Look at the devcoin source, they distribute a percentage of each block to various people.  This prevents issues where someone dumps the premine, or even worse, the premine is stolen.
- folding pool is not responsive - I have mined for days and not seen a payout or even an estimated payout.  This is a huge deterrant.
- late - this would have been *the* coin if it had come out back in December or January.  Now it's just a footnote.

Addressing your concerns.
1) Why would that make the coin more stable? It could get more people mining but then some of the Asic's resources would go towards mining Bitcoin / Litecoin resulting in less power per Asic. I personally prefer a coin doesn't doesn't support merged mining with other coins and instead stands alone by itself. This is just people wanting to try and make as much money in possible I don't believe it does anything for the coin.

2) The premine is hidden in a cold storage wallet I believe. Also no one controls the premine - it is released slowly over time. The problem with doing it as a percentage of each block is that work units can take 24 hours to complete by themselves with each one being worth a decent one so it brings up the issue of people timing their work units to try and make more money. This makes it worse for the science and at the same results in super long blocks where no one supports a work unit.

3) They are working on more updated statistics however, as with the previous timing workunits problem the payouts are once a day and will remain at that for a while most likely. Some people have had this issue and we are working on it

4) I don't think this is a valid point. Would you rather they released a worse coin earlier? I think waiting is fine and ultimately exactly what time its released shouldn't make a huge difference overall. Personally I would have preferred if they waited a few weeks so I don't need to worry about this during AP/Finals weeks.

Hope this addressed your concerns.

OK, finally got my first payment today at Cryptobullions pool, however, I've been waiting over an hour for the payment to withdrawal to my wallet.  Anyone else experience this?

Why Radeon HD 6xxx cards have such a terribly low speed in folding?

Have you optimized: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=606795.new#new

Otherwise, what you call a terribly low speed?

I've been mining for 24 hours now and https://www.cryptobullionpools.com still show 0?

is that right?

Make sure to check with your user ID in official Stanford stat pages, updated every fill hour.

I just got my first CURE payment today from the pool. It took about 30 hours. It is a little slugish, but that is because it takes a while for the WU to get verified, then picked up by the pool and then disbursed. So everything seems to work, it just takes a while!

how do the payouts from folding work?

i've been folding for 3 days i just received my payout i think, but someone i know whose been folding as long received a payout yesterday and a massive one again today?

They are based daily, however, they have been a few errors. They are daily to keep people from timing work units but that person may be putting in a lot more points and it also depends on if you've entered your address, how you've setup automatic payments and such. If it takes too long for  me I just send in a manual payment.

By the way, how many coins will be distributed to the folders each day?

7488 I believe. I'll try and confirm.

*Confirmed - it is 7488

Not sure if this has been posted here but I found at the curecoin.us forum this amazing link from member bitshirehashaway:

"We are currently the number 1 team in the world based on current point generation - beating the second place team by slight more than 50%. Keep up the great work guys and let's try and become the number one team based on total points!" - bitshirehashaway

This is a staggering achievement and is worthy of press attention imho.

I'm Bitshire Hashaway btw Smiley

Thanks for posting this! We should try and get some press for this I'll see if I can contact the major bitcoin blogs.

Any plans on supporting GPU folding on OSX soon?  Or is it only going to be cpu?

Problem are with the OpenCL drivers for/from Apple. They are not on a level as FAH software could work with. That said Apple and FAH are working together to solve it according for some news earlier this year. But as usual no estimation.
https://folding.stanford.edu/home/progress-with-openmm-on-osx/

You are right: for the time being only CPU on Mac OS X

(I hope to fold enough coins for a nMP; not happen Roll Eyes )

Agh, didn't post this right, anyway, thanks for the info, hoping the mac GPU capability comes soon, will stick to CPU in the meantime.  Not really in this one for the coins, I'm just super-excited to see this concept work out.  The main gripe I have about BTC is it's lack of usefulness with all that hashing power going to essentially nothing.

To see a coin that incorporates scientific calculations is fantastic, and I'm hoping this works out well Cheesy

Miners are not used to the delay of wu submission.  It will take some getting used to.  Just have to remember in your mind that its for a good cause.  Honestly if its even worth half of what other coins are worth i will still mine it.  As long as I can afford my power bill I am extremely happy to fold for a coin rather then mine for one.  mining is a pointless waste of resources for a speculative coin.  Why not make that coin have a cause? This coin could and likely will be the future of all coins.  No reason to waste power anymore.

its up to people what they do with their KH, i don't think its fair to call other coins wasteful - if bitcoin is wasteful what about the cost savings of instant payments worldwide and the only way coins can get off the ground is due to the clever incentives built around it to get people to mine it - thats not wasteful and its up to the individual what they spend there $ on.

there are other coins that have good causes like WATER donates transaction fees to water projects

that beings said CURE is obviously a great innovation and many people will want to be involved more than other coins due to the 'good cause' bonues - but most people are here for investments and want to see what they are investing in not wait..just sayin

Many people that started to fold are experiencing an intentional built in delay of the payout system. By around 6 pm EST your accounts should show incoming balance on the pool. Im going to make some changes due to the high demand to make the stats more real time. Also, many have asked why their balance and estimated next payment are the same. This is because I ran an extra manual test run to make sure the system was working (and it is indeed working). This in effect gave all the people that were folding without pay before launch a double bonus, just like I said would happen to all those that were folding just to support the cause of team Curecoin.

The pool is active right now, and will automatically update new stats in about 6 and 1/2 hours. Ill be standing by for support if any has any issues however I have triple checked many users and it looks like everything is good to go. The points delay will be paying you out basically for the work you did the day before. If you were to quit folding now, the points you make today would be paid out tomorrow. The system has been through many different tests and improvements were made every time. First we did the GLC test, then there was the FRK test ( did not work well for low power users because FRK is scarce and hard to divide to many people) and recently we did the RKC test (which proved the system can handle a large amount of tx). This is now the final stage, many people had a good experience with the tests by following the instructions to the t. Now that we are in official launch that will last for years, there will be plenty of time to get everyone using the system properly, and I will continue to make improvements.

There are many members of the Curecoin team that have stepped out to offer support to anyone that needs it
FifthGhostBuster CameronPalte Dime ChristianVirtual, and many others are here to make sure you have the help you need to get set up. Then ofcourse there is Vorksholk and myself.

Today will be the day when everything catches up to the for the launch time folders in your stats on the pool, and then you can enjoy automated payouts for years to come. Just let the GPU's fold and your wallet will fill itself with Curecoins.

"high demand to make the stats more real time" - 36 hours folding, no info showin in the pool, no payout, brand new project, no reply to support email - yeh understandably people might want to see something every hour they spending $ in good faith lol

looks like a great project hope the actual coin side is improved ASAP then more people will come

Yes the pool isn't updating fast enough. The reason it was originally set to daily was to keep people from timing work unit submissions to try and get more coins. They are working on updating information. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me - I'll do my best to help.
