You'll die of a curable cancer if you don't have fiat.

Not true if you live in a country that has a decent social security system...

Put out differently, Curecoin folders are folding for free for the profit of the 1%.

My GPUs are warming my home during autumn, winter and spring and that electricity would anyway be spent in pure Joule effect otherwise.

If research is published they are published in medical and scientific journals that require expensive subscriptions and massive pre-requisite requirements designed to be a barrier of entry and allow only a select few to read...

This is how it works in every single scientific field (astronomy, cosmology, geology...). Every lab has subscriptions to the scientific journals in their field. Anyway, what benefits would the average Joe get from reading those papers ? Would you for instance be able to understand them and take advantage of their content to start producing industrially medicine?

Curecoin will only gain value if they sell the folding power tho those who need it, in CURECOIN.

Well, this might be a great idea for the future when we'll be able to deliver GPPDs...

No bigpharma is handling their 'medicine or cure' for free, ever. You'll die of a curable cancer if you don't have fiat.

Yeah, cuz no one has ever gotten screwed in a process like that before.  Undecided

I guess you'll be able to start by sending small amounts of your CURE to the burning address and see that they got correctly converted to CURE 2.0.

I dont really think Cure will ever be swapped to a new token. When u send ur Cure to a burning address, it gets exterminated but no new tokens are generated to compensate for ur lose. As a result, u get a transaction that delivers 0 Cure to ur addy, despite what u have been told by sofa experts and Cure hypers.

Oh my...

What a shame. This coin was pegged from start  Undecided

Also,

I come to the understanding that CURECOIN/FLDC hashrate were handled for free to private/gouv institution.  All research done is kept private, unlikely to ever reach the light of day, even if it's "ground breaking". If research is published they are published in medical and scientific journals that require expensive subscriptions and massive pre-requisite requirements designed to be a barrier of entry and allow only a select few to read...

This coin have no soul. The coin is just an incentive to f@h, created from thin air and with no major fiat/btc support behind. Biopharma/University research don't need the CURECOIN nor FoldingCoin. It's a major Issue and until the team realize this major economic flaw, CureCoin and FLDC is simply a doomed coin mined from generosity/benevolent. Miners have a 100% incentive to dump it at an exchange ASAP before it reach 1 santoshi ; What other purpose does it serve!?!?!

It's a great idea and the purpose is obvious.  The network of users who would fold the coin would be bigger because of no physical limitations on the computers.  A network of thousands of good computers is better than what a university can afford to do by itself.   You can expand the types of searches you are doing the more computing power you have.  That can save lives.  Lives are being saved by medicine (*although a healthy preventative lifestyle using herbs, exercise, good diet is a better focus for most in the here and now*).

One thing you said made sense, nothing should be given away for free by the miners.   Universities and drug companies charge way too much.

Agreed that the (folding) purpose and such is great and refreshing; But the coin serve no purpose.  Would you work for me 40hours for a container of potato worth 40h? No, because you can't do shit with potato unless you stand at the market with all your 'Co-worker' selling the same potato until there is an oversupply and sooner or later the potato is worth 1 cent. Potato < USD, CURECOIN < BTC. Curecoin will only gain value if they sell the folding power tho those who need it, in CURECOIN.

Some grown up business man should just take this coin, unplug the folding power and sell it by PPD to bigpharma from all over the world for it's worth. Maybe then the coin will have decent value and will be able to compete in the altcoin scene. And at the end we'll really have a supercomputer worth a few M in market share finding cure. The coin is really really really far from reaching maturity with such lack of business skill.

Anyway, I trust the devs' intentions in terms of them wanting to see their technology succeed. Screwing people over with the burner address is not what anyone's concerned about. If anyone's concerned, it's over the devs' competence from what I read in these threads.

While some of their choices can be debatable and the fact that they prioritize college studies or girlfriend over Curecoin more or less understandable, I don't think anybody can doubt about the devs' technical competence or honesty !

With what crypto did people get screwed over for that?

...I wonder if google would create a standalone cure folding app that would be based on chrome but not end up bloating the chrome memory usage even more...
You mean like:
https://folding.stanford.edu/home/the-software/
?

Yes, that's the one.

The older version will be supported?
What are the indicative dates of transition to a new coin?

You'll send the Cure coins to a burner address in exchange for the new coin. Nobody knows its release date, its been in development for how long now? 2-3 years?

I was using it on my laptop chrome tab but stopped to mine Zcash.  Now I'm mining Curecoin with a ASIC.  I don't think it's unwise to think that this coin could reach higher levels.  It's more profitable to still mine BTC and use some of those earnings to buy Curecoin.  And from what I understand, mining Curecoin on an ASIC doesn't do any of the valuable research that folding on a chrometab does.

One problem is that chrome is a memory hog that shards off dozens of little chromes if you use 10 or more tabs at once like I do.  I wonder if google would create a standalone cure folding app that would be based on chrome but not end up bloating the chrome memory usage even more.
I'm not sure if they work off each other, that is, if folding cure in a chrome tab creates more problems for the browsing experience.  I will reinstall it on my deskop soon and find out.

Dont tell me the swap will be processed via a pre-programmed smart contract and give birth to Cure 2.0 which will be re-introduced as a pathetic apptoken running on top of ethereum blockchain and hyped up by noobs believing that a refreshed asset may be worth something.
