once in console its saved in wallet.dat and stay active even after wallet restart

By "update" you mean to go through the same procedure as when we were migrating from 2.0 to 3.0? Installing new 3.13 DMD wallet and then replacing wallet.dat file or I misunderstood something.

Just download and run the new wallet. Do not forget to close 3.0.0.12 before. If you'll have any troubles then do what Limx Dev wrote.

Save the folder /backup and wallet.dat in a other folder. Rename your wallet.dat and try it again. If it works replace the wallet.dat.

I updated from ver 12 to ver 13 a bit more than 12 hours ago with no problems. Coins showed up instantly when I typed in my password(s). Staking is on. All systems seem fine.

I checked the block explorer for my node using my ip address and it doesn't show up anymore. It used to show up when I checked the node list on ver 12. Now I look at the ver 13 node list and I'm not there.

Does that mean I'm doing something wrong? My wallet isn't connected to the network? Or do I just need to wait 24hrs for it to show up?

Yes, but only on the condition that you open the wallet 24/7. Before there were enough 3-4 days in month.

That's why I believe it is important to get an "official" version of the RasPi wallet, I don't want to let my PC run 24/7, but one or a few RasPi is perfectly fine for me.

I know dbradford is compiling 0.13 for RasPi at the moment, and I will test that, but I would feel better if the dev team could confirm that the wallet is safe.
