there was a dmd diamond foundation decision to go public with testnet
so no invite needed everyone can join

more details about DMDv3 u find in the whitepaper
https://bit.diamonds/DMD_WP_1.0.pdf

timeplan:
now start to make testnet client and access public
08.09 last testnet update with release client
12.09 all exchanges should freeze deposit and withdraw user should do no more transactions
13.09 DMDv2 balance snapshot
15.09 launch of DMDv3 with first 7 days POS & masternode rewards reduced by 99%
so everyone have time set up his masternode and POS wallets without missing rewards

What about Rokos v8? Will there be new version of wallet on 15.09?

not at 15th
we will inform ROKOS team once final release is done
and they will compile a update for ROKOSv8

but basically u or any rokos owner can try compile on its own too
i had no time to spend time with my raspi and im sure i wont find soon

Also, in the new version of DMD 3.0 we will have very little commission for transactions.
This should also have a positive impact on the business associated with the use of DMD for payments at goods and services  Wink

the low tx fees are deepending on block load
so if blocks are heavy loaded the fee will raise
but because DMD chain have capacity for 12x transactions than bitcoin blockchain
there will be for a long timeframe min fee tx posible

When in due course the DMD price rises to $ 100, the minimal transaction fee will be only 0.05 cents, it's great  Smiley

Does my wallet have to be open and running 24/7 for staking purposes, or do I only need to open it once in a while?

in DMDv3 the more the better ideal 24/7

in DMDv3 there will be no more coin age included in reward calculation
instead there will be static rewards

that mean the more often u find a POS block the more u earn

the longer ur wallet is able to try to find a POS block
and the more coins u have inside ur wallet
the more blocks u will find

Does my wallet have to be open and running 24/7 for staking purposes, or do I only need to open it once in a while?

If you want to receive daily and regular income, but in the new version of DMD 3.0 you will have to keep your wallet all the time running and used a stake mode.
If you do not want to bet all the time or you can not run your wallet 24 hours a day, then your reward will only be available when after you running wallet again.

We are moving to a more economical and environmentally friendly active POS v 3.0 system.
This opens the way to big business, as no large company will use the system that functions by maintaining its safety on home-grown POW miners with graphic video cards.

In catching up with this thread I somehow got an impression that to control multiple masternodes on third party (hence insecure) hardware such as rented from hosting suppliers, you might have to use a control wallet that has to run on windows? I do not do windows, nor Mac, all I have is Linux. So I want to check this impression to make sure that you are not locking Linux users out of ability to run high performance masternodes on powerful third party hardware...

any wallet can act as control wallet
windows osx or linux
in fact if u want u can do all stuff with headless self compiled console only wallets too

there is no limitation for linux users

the usecase we did describe was just

linux console only coinless masternodes on VPS because they use less cpu/ram resources
and a windows control wallet with gui for full comfort

but u can use any platform for any usecase

still linux is a expert usecase most people still are more used to windows gui then linux console wallets

so we dont want to exclude them and will provide guides how u can do masternodes on windows VPS too
with windows controll wallet on home PC

the most difficult usecase for me to describe is OSX because i dont run this OS
but it will be able to do all the stuff there too

looking at the github, why was this licensed under MIT license? Why not GPL?

we take open source elements of bitcoin dash blackcoin pivx and own DMD unique codeparts to create DMDv3

we take open source we add our own code the result is open source

thats it

if u well educated in that area

Few known issues like warnings about POS coins to young in logfile
will be gone in next release.
This Testnet is full operable regarding POS MN coinmix mixTX and quickTX
regarding coinmix u enable it with a diamond.conf entry enablemixTX=1

If u want to use tor/onion hidden services u need this addnodes
addnode=njzvnz74eecmbxst.onion:17771
addnode=7577ju5sksuyt2w6.onion:17771
to claim testnet coins u can just use ur mainnet wallet.dat and replace the wallet inside %appdat%/dmdtest
u will have as many testnet coins as u did own on mainnet on snapshotdate xy after restart DMDv3 client with that DMDv2 wallet.dat use the repairoption tools repair salvagewallet optional as alternative way u can just export private keys from DMDv2 wallet and import them into DMDv3 any more questions and we know there will be many please ask in slack we will create a dedicated testnet channel.

What kind of proxy will be needed https or socks5?

tor proxy that allow operation of hidden services
like that one included here https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

please understand people can perfectly fine use DMDv3 without TOR

this is just needed if u want to run masternodes without static IP

masternodes on server with static IP
or run POS even on dynamic IP like now
will be possible too

thanks for answer.
But I was asking about a proxy with a static IP. What kind of proxy with static IP https or socks5 will be needed?
