btw. are you sure your .conf file is named correctly?
if you are using windows go to folder options-> view tab-> remove selection "hide file extensions for known file types"

After that, locate your conf file and make sure it is named as dopecoin.conf not as dopecoin.conf.txt.

Take a back up copy of your conf file.

then remove from the original everything but addnode lines. i will check my conf file once i get to home.
