Devs like these make me sick.

You mean devs who make money?

Yeah, they should be working for free so we can then trade their coins and make money off them.

And they better make this shit good too, the best tech all the time.  That's what I expect for free.  Haha!

Good devs should be rich by developing a successful product, not just by successfully selling something does not exist. Let's see whether they are really good devs or not. Time will tell.

That I agree with.  I don't think is worth what people have paid but this is still a [quasi] free market so hey, if WhastApp is worth $19 billion then ethereum is worth $12+ million.  The more vapor ware goes up in price the more the real alts [and bitcoin] will go up once Wall Street comes in full bore which should within the next 6 months.

Come into alts I mean cause they're already knee deep into BTC.

No one is saying do it for Free?  Just commit to doing it.  Do not weasel your way out because of the  some stupid clause "NO obligation to  Complete the SOFTWARE ."  Angry

If the official "Terms" by  Ethereum states "NO obligation to even Complete the SOFTWARE"  why would anyone think Ethereum would ever complete it?
This clause is not just a Legal print on standard contracts, it is in the terms for the 1 reason, Ethereum has no intention of completing the software.
This would be why the 25,000BTC is getting spent Sad

I asked the same question on reddit ethereum sub, I got this.

Quote
In your scenario they (ethereum team) would then have both BTC and 50% of ether...

but, they can donate BTC now or few months later..

Quote
They can't. Here is why: (taken from https://www.ethereum.org/pdfs/TermsAndConditionsOfTheEthereumGenesisSale-preview.pdf[1] )
18) EthSuisse Will Not Purchase ETH During Genesis Sale and Until the Creation of the Genesis Block.
EthSuisse warrants that it will not purchase ETH in its own sale. Furthermore EthSuisse warrants that it will
not purchase ETH from any third party, or acquire ETH in any manner, or acquire future control of ETH, during
the period of the Genesis Sale and until the creation of the Genesis Block.

they can buy at the end of genesis sale (over a year of time, or so) with all the BTC they raised.

Are you seriously expecting Ethereum not be spending the BTC 250,000 - someone has to pay for all the travel, hotels, lawyers, Merc, private jets, drinks and pizza....
spend the BTC and then ask for more later, if no one gives more BTC then apply the NO obligation to  Complete the SOFTWARE clause.   Angry

Guys, I was not joking. Can someone please explain what's wrong with the approach I suggested?
Don't spend BTC. Buy ethers now, spend later.

IMHO, Ethereum team / devs holding 50% (May be, 49%) is not bad.

Ether devs probably have enough.  They wanna diversify like everyone else.

And I'm sure they know BTC is gonna go way up next year so they're prefer to hold it mostly in BTC kinda like a savings account.  I would do the same.

no jokes. some serious answers please. Sad

Hi Ethereum Team, You should stop spending BTC from the genesis sale. Instead, buy ether at the end of sale and spend them when ether goes online. It shouldn't be a problem then.

just an idea, but downside, you would then hold 50% of ethers..  Huh

^if they were smart they would convert all BTC to fiat and put it into insured investments!?  Cheesy /\lol haha
