No premine will ensure complete fairness.
A small premine, equal perhaps to 30 minutes of coin output (7500 coins) may be slightly better, if all (or most of) the rewards (pools, block explorer, first shop, etc ...) will be set before coin launch. Slight decrease in fairness may result in not so small increase in provided services and usability of the coin.
Larger premine that that ... and it will do more bad than good.

Also I can assure you all that if we do indeed decide on a small premine like this the team will be open about it and the status of the coins will be public.
