HaHA!!!!!!! WoOHoO!

Found one....a block with the new wallet using the built-in CPU miner!!!!

It took a few days, but I appreciate those sweet, sweet, one hundred fifty, wallet mined GunCoins.

Can you tell that I am excited?

Will probably be more excited when I see everyone change over to the new wallets....maybe not so vocal about it though. LOL

Excellent news !!!

It's nice to see the old coin still stick to today, GUN I've updated it to the latest version, and everything works. How many people are using it now? You want to see a lot of new wallets run to ensure that the block chain remains stable Smiley

I'm one of the laggers..

Work has been crazy, 70 hour weeks and such.  Along with repairs after a deer running out in front of me and making a real mess of both itself and my truck.

Thanks! Better late than never!

We still have less that half the active wallets switched over yet, so please spread the word.  We have a little more than we expected after the first week switched.  We posted on Twitter again and that picked up quite a few others.  You can track the progress at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gun/#!network.....This is a great site!

but how do we KNOW its not a scam?
Because I say so, that it's not a scam.

Hope that's enough for you. Smiley

I'm trying to be funny, but my comment is actually serious.

Good enough for me.

If GUN is a scam, it must be the longest running and least profitable of any to date, considering that it has to cost more than any returns taken, especially those to create/run/update website, wallets, etc.... and that's not including any remuneration for time spent/donated to make it all work.
If one factors in the value that might be created someday for the users of GUN, there may be a good argument that GUN is almost free for the taking at the moment, buckets of coins, like empty shell casings on the ground, just gotta pick them up Smiley

It is good though, to be wary and ask questions since there are real scams about.

While some ICOs do make a lot of money, there are quite a of few of these ICOs that do nothing - and there is a very recent one that was a proven fraud.  That is what I said previously, why would you trust a token with a fancy website, that has only been in existence a few months as compared to s stable coin over 3 years old and documented blockchain to prove it.  It is hard to convence non-techies the crypto currencies are not just a fad.  Most would be very wary of putting money into some thing so new.

I think our history and current low price and staying stable with BTC going through the roof, makes a GUN an excellent option for any investor, not just those in the firearms community and 2nd amendment supporters.  With our recent GUN V1.2 upgrade, we now have functioning Guncoin wallets in over 20 countries, compared to far fewer only a weeks ago.  We thank you for your support no matter where you are!

LOL, GUN is a very stable coin that has been around and fully operational and being diligently mined for over 3 years.  We have a full description of what was provided with this recent upgrade and the path forward in previous posts.  Additionally, the release notes and our code are open to anyone to inspect.

So far, we have heard nothing negative about the recent V1.2 release and appears to be running very smoothly.  Even better, despite bitcoins recent runup, our price has stayed relatively unchanged.  So if you have not upgraded your wallet to V1.2, please do so at year earliest convenience.  We would like to see a large number running the new wallet, to make sure our blockchain remains stable and there are no issues, before moving  forward with the next phase of coin upgrades.

How many of you are up and running with GUN V1.2 now?  Looking for some feedback on what you are seeing in regards to WIN or Apple/MAC versions of the wallet?

I am running the mining from the wallet for fun.
Will share if I get a block.

By share do you mean the 150 GUN from finding the block?  LOL

HAHA, share that I found it.
It's quite rare nowadays to be able to get a block via CPU mining.

I updated mine to the newest version.
Seems to work fine.
I like that we can generate receive addresses without a passphrase, makes sense because why make it more difficult to receive money?
Maybe that was in the old version too, but don't really remember now...moving forward.

so 3 years passed, have GUNCOIN any practical use any store ? enywhere ?

3 years ago, gun store owners and the majority of the 2nd amendment community knew nothing about cryptocurrency.  There was BTC and that was about it.  There was no demand for ANY other altcoin.  The vast majority of the altcoins died off and ceased to exist.  Thousands of dollars and BTC was spent on dying coins.  Our small but loyal community kept guncoin going and now the time is right as the whole world knows of bitcoin and many other good altcoins.

Once all of our upgrades are complete and mobile wallet complete and a few more exchanges pick GUN up, it should not be a problem for the firearms community to accept GUN.  Think about it, wouldn't they prefer a current, stable cryptocurrency that has been around for 3 years or a token crowd-funded within the last 6 months, full of hype and promises and overpriced......there simply is no upside in that - it makes no business sense.  To me, the choice moving forward is a no brainer.
