Hey IMZ! Me too... Being a HAM I find this fascinating. The need for alternative methods of moving wealth through "out of band" methods deserves real attention...

We have some issues which I would like some input and help with.

When this coin was launched it was with a stated 21 million total coins, this has now changed with block halving and if we continue without changes it will end up being around 10 million total coins.

And HAM is due to half again and as it stands now HAM block reward will be under 1 HAM in less than a year.

I am also concerned that if the block reward drops to much and the price dosn't rise we may have an issue with people wanting to mine this and keeping the chain moving, as it stands now we are ok as we are listed on coinwarz and iSpace which also initiates the Ispace multipool when he are #1 on coinwarz.

Now the good news if we have a few avenues open to us to correct this issue, a few of which are to cease the block halving, implement POS to run alongside POW.

I am open to ideas and will look after this coin the same as I do my others and ALL WAYS speak to the community before any thing is done.

Thanks
Crunck

PS I'm still looking for team members......

' . . . the only reason is that we both feel our life away from the world of crypto has suffered due to the amount of time given to running the coin and also the financial input we have both made to the coin has also limited us doing things we would have liked away from crypto. In short we have happily sacrificed various parts of our life for this coin, but are now at a stage where a break is needed.'

This is a perfectly acceptable reason for taking a break. Good luck. Please visit Planet Krypto anytime you feel like it.

Congratulations to crunk and good luck to Alex and Garmin moving forward.

I spoke with one of the developers via PM today and I believe I have reached the point where my ideas can no longer benefit the HAM community. I don't say this in a bad way at all, just that obviously we are moving in different directions. I will continue to focus on Bitcoin development which is my primary goal.

Thank you Garmin and Alex for the wild ride, it has certainly been fun and indeed I learned a lot here. Again I wish the new community the best and will certainly keep an eye on developments.

HamRadioCoin Announcement

From the original Dev Team:

As you may have gathered from a few of the posts above this one, we have after much discussion and deliberation made the decision to step aside and hand over our coin "HamRadioCoin" to a new team that will continue our work and take the coin forward.

There will no doubt be debate as to our reasons for leaving so we would like to place it on record that the coin is stable and running well, and the only reason is that we both feel our life away from the world of crypto has suffered due to the amount of time given to running the coin and also the financial input we have both made to the coin has also limited us doing things we would have liked away from crypto.
In short we have happily sacrificed various parts of our life for this coin, but are now at a stage where a break is needed.

After speaking to several people we have decided to hand everything over to Crunck who has set out a plan to not only continue, but to grow the HamRadioCoin and brand.

The plan led by Crunck will be to create a tight unit of key people that will handle the running and improvement of the coin, we will supply Crunck with login details and accounts associated with the coin and he will take over all the financial burdens in running things such as the website, and nodes etc.

He will also have sole control over the dev funds and a new dev funds account has been set up under the address of

15EpzWUTod1h5Yf7dnnVz8UigwmRLmq34X  https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ham/address.dws?15EpzWUTod1h5Yf7dnnVz8UigwmRLmq34X.htm

A total of 1 million HAM will be deposited as follows, within a few days of turnover 250K HAM initial deposit and then 100k HAM every month until the 1 million coin total has been reached. This will help provide additional security for the HAM community as opposed to turning over all the development coins at once.

The dev fund will be used to help support and develop HamRadioCoin and not for financial gain of any single individual but to benefit the HAM community as a whole.

We have also outlined what was in the pipeline for HamRadioCoin, what was discussed and what wasn't so he is totally up to date with what the plans for this coin are.

Regards

The original HAM team

I'm here. I'm reading.

Is it legal to send money over the airwaves? Hmmm . . . gotta think about that -- but the Fimkrypto guys have been doing it for ages.

Sorry guy's I can't support HAM on cryptsy any more. Some may want to trade on cryptsy but if we cant withdrawal I must inform our supporters that withdraws are not working any longer. 48 hours for a simple withdrawal is not an exchange I can support. Sorry for the bad news. Happy new years all..

Don't be sorry! IMHO, leading the community from a shonky exchange is the right decision. (Sooner the better, indeed . . . )

Future of community: I'm not a community member yet (trading a little). The tech background of ham-radio folk makes HAM a coin that could do well in the long run. The international dimension of the community ditto. It's also not a time in krypto history to leave a coin: alts should start lifting in price as the 'organic' lift in Btc price continues.

Whatever, I will hang out here just to see how it all pans out.

P2P? IndiaMikeZulu loves to P2P. PM me.

I am in agreeable, ? am sorry if it appears it isn't in agreeable. However, I am still here to work on the coin if others are no longer working on it.

IMZ: I'm going to send you a pm, maybe we can work on ideas with how we can help.

Looking at this project. Interested in knowing if there are any plans for it at this time other than abadonning it. I have a dev on my team that is willing to look at working with it. His first concern is the diff though. Also, we were Looking at the possibility of cross support with a new coinwe are developing that also supports dual algo. Just thought I would throw this out there and see if anyone is interestd or even responds. Thanks.

This sounds very interesting, Garmin had discussed adding merged mining at one time. Multi algo would be nice too however.

I agree that this coin won't be totally abandoned I am just a little bummed right now that Alex and Garmin have decided to give up so suddenly. My attempts to talk him out of it failed.

I have updated p2pool for HAM and im waiting to just build on my super low computer HAM itself then download the blockchain to be sure it is.

I have code available that can be coded to make hamradio coin a multialgo merged coin with scrypt and sha256d but I think we should consider rebasing it to the latestest bitcoin core so we can easily update.
I agree the ham community is one that woulddo a lot and could learn a lot from cryptos. My only question (any some other extra.expert class guys here could answer me this) is it legal to be sending coins over the air waves? I Am wondering because i can't ememver which rule it is says you can't do it for profit, but i would wonder if it would fall under selling equipment on air that can be done on occassion?

this coin can be a bit more "tchy"than bitcoin has to be, but it should be easy enough as many hammys are aging and are stuck in their resisters and capacitors age. But some are with the times.

We can talk more on the meshnet frorum i created if you want (pm me for info) so we can get more people able to read it. I am encouraging anyone trading this coin to get a license ($15) and a $35 handheld walkie, a $50 investment to see what you are supporting (or dumping).

Again, please pm me if you wish to talk more, otherwise i will just start rebasing the code tomorrow to latest bitcoin release to be in line. There's more im doing but i would rather have a mediun besides bitcointalk where coding discussion can occur before announcement if I'm truly gathering together a group to get this done

PM me for p2pool code as im not 100% its correct but I knnow clark will run it once it is verified
