Feel free to PM me about any Cryptsy weirdness. Concern is clearly spreading across threads that I follow.

My Cryptsy experience has been mostly good. As of late BTC withdraws are taking too long, but they always get processed within 24 to 48 hrs. HAM withdraws are fast as always. Unfortunately some look to be having bigger issues if you read the trollbox. Hopefully they will get things worked out as I'm guessing many use Bleu to trade according to the volume I see at each.
Cryptopia is a good exchange as well, but could use more volume. Overall as HAM volume increases we may approach additional exchanges as volume dictates... ham radio operators wont be reducing in numbers, in fact the number of hams increases every year, so as they find out about HAM the crypto coin, volume will increase. Radio operators are a word of mouth crowd, Pun Intended, but we are getting the word out every day.. And they tell two friends and so on and so on =)

Mind you also, apart from bitcoin this is the only coin that can be used without traditional internet. So when exchanges and such (or disaster strikes) HAM has got you covered.  Cool

Me just moved my penny of trading from Cryptsy to Cryptopia.

Happy to hang out here. May set up a wallet a little later. (Got just about a full complement of wallets on my system at present, but -- although its cap is tiny -- HAM has a nice price-chart)

If you have questions about the GFC vis a vis cryptos, do ask me*:

http://cryptomoms.com/forum/cryptomoms-com/5/crypto-kindergarten/537/msg5529#new

*GFC Two is gonna get way uglier, and that will be advantageous for cryptos.

Remember you can use paper wallets and not have to actually keep a client. hamdroid app can also sweep private keys from qr codes. (No need for another chain) I keep mine in blocks of 500 at this time.

The paper wallets work well in conjunction with HamDroid sweep private keys, Just make sure you backup HamDroid =)

Good advice, Garmin. IndiaMikeZulu has indeed almost completed Paper Wallets 101 (though we're teaching ourselves with two other cryptos). Meanwhile, I do a tiny bit of trading (on Cryptopia now . . . ), and run our home-base site.

Anyone havin' winter where you are? It's awesome here: fine mild summer.

I'm done with the UNO thread btw @IMZ and UNO in general. HAd two more posts deleted for whatever reasons. Editing posts is no good. So you won't see me there.

I will have a surprise for that camp in the coming months.

HAM block halving is complete, the reward is now 3.125

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ham/

Still hodlin' my small chunk and having loads of fun talking mining with ngrd in irc. My cryptopia experiments went exactly as I planned, no surprise there - proving that wasting time on "exchanges" isn't worth it.

Research continues on finding my holy grail of a box. I am still snapping up pogos but understand I need something with graphics for those users that don't spend all their time in cli like me Cheesy.

I like the exchanges, buying up HAM for 6.50 per thousand, let's see what they cost in a year when the reward is under 1 HAM per block Wink

I edit my statement to mean not worth it "for me" it eats up too much of my experiment time. Grin

I am exchange lazy and prefer brokers to do the heavy lifting for me there. I had hoped to garner some interest by giving away some HAM on cryptopia, but it seems everyone just likes the free handouts that they immediately dump. :/

Testing a LOT of different ARMv5 and 7 based builds lately, on various equipment. I hope to discuss with Garmin some different boxes to we can try, as I am beginning to lean towards his droid streaming box idea some more - it already has built-in audio hardware and would save me some of the hacky solutions I have to use now, though it is nice to see everything run so great on such a small platform. Wink

Prices on the last gen devices are coming down also.

Kinda hard to beat a 30 dollar device that does so much for the price, Hamdroid will run on these devices in a p2p wifi environment.
These will support SDR receivers and can Bluetooth with amateur radios etc with a 4 dollar BT dongle. like a mini comms server and coin node  Wink
OH BTW low power 5v input so it's also portable.

http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_193367.html

Also solar-power friendly  Wink

I am still working on full-node capabilities on this, requires you either use something like gnu root or an arch loop. I'll know more when I have my hands on one of these in a few weeks.

Hello HAM members!  questions about specs if thats ok.  how many confirms does it take to spend received coins?  how many confirms before being able to spend a mined block reward?  ty for your time.

Off the top of my head.

Mined blocks 120 confirms.

Transferred coins 5 confirms.

Wow Thanks HAM members!  Hope to see future developments!

Morning, garmin. It's my Internet that I run off the YAGI (thanks to an old mate of mine who is a professional radio-maintenance officer for W.A.'s Fire and Emergency Services). It's just a sweet coincidence that our crypto outfit's name is a 'call sign.'

So, although I am not a ham operator, I am undoubtedly operating one of the world's most isolated crypto set-ups: it's me, then it's Antarctica!
