Soon TM

i think the market is big enough  for more participants. Every coin is like a tool in a toolbox, each one having a specific feature. Ixcoin is cheap, cheap to mine (merge mined), cheap txs, long chain, no criminal use, a lot of potential.
One thing is missing: developers.

No dev yet functional chain.
It is not  a bug.
It is a feature.

Any true devotee to the C++ code of BTC BTC can find equity in IX, get rewarded, in time.

There honestly little need for a dev.

IX is old.  Very old.  Perhaps oldest after the BTC?

ArchimedesIX promised features and use case
I see none

The white paper is yet to be accomplished

https://docdro.id/RhuEERC

re-mining of premined   OK  1 ixc/block distribution

to be done:

the number of coins seems higher than 21M, the software must be updated

the counter of remaining coins to re-mine, not easy to find

donation to miners addresses, not clear how to

pruned  blockchain / use of mobile devices as nodes chosen randomly

easy mirroring of bitcoin updates

use case?

this is created as exact copy of bitcoin so i don't think merchants will use this instead of bitcoin. for sure, not a lot of people are familiar with IXC.
are there any shops accepting IXC at the moment? also, they need to update the exchanges they are listed with as published on their website. cryptopia and coinexchange are long gone. just add the freiexchange on the list -

No I did not. Whatever one I am on seems to have plenty of difficulty and I withdrew from an exchange no problem and sent to another exchange.

So I had no idea anyone was using any other version of the blockchain.

My daemon says

 "version": 140100,
  "protocolversion": 110014,
  "walletversion": 10500,

and

  "difficulty": 205692676.8288897,

How much hashpower does the other fork have?

What fork?

I am not aware of any fork.

https://github.com/IXCore/IXCoin/releases

It's a fork. Everything below 0.14.1 is on the old chain

Soooo, MarkM is a crypto OG whose main focus has been merged mined coins and galactic milleu yet he has no idea IXcoin forked and split in two?

Ok then.

So, everything 0K if I have the 0.14.1 wallet?
Are there still people mining in the old chain?

Sorry if these are stupid question but I wasn't here when the fork happened.

I do not know of any chain-split. I send IXC withdrawn from CoinExchange.io home and then on to FreiExchange wihout any problem.

IXC can be traded on HORIZON and STELLAR too, see http://makemoney.knotwork.com/
