By those definitions IXcoin has been dead a long time. Trying to revive a corpse we have, nearly becoming zombies in the process.
And if the resurrection happen? You've supported Ixcoin for so many years, I hope you do not give up, guys!
Very sad seeing the volume of only about 3-4 dollars only, maybe you are indeed correct these coins have been long dead. There are many projects that try to go back to rise from their fall, but it will be difficult.
This year has left a bit of a graveyard of alt coins - I was hoping some whales would want to keep IXC liquid for historical value!

Almost all of my IXC was on 'topia - hadn't got my wallet VM's back online since moving office - I'm out of the (IXC) game if 'topia doesn't come back

Another failed attempt.  7 years too many.  Stick a fork in IXC.

Hello Folks,

IXCoin is not quite dead yet...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDnS4pkmzis&t=48

I have just updated the crypto-docker project at https://github.com/bostontrader/crypto-docker.  Among other things, fans of of IXC might be interested in the following:

With crypto-docker you can build docker images that contain the IXC binaries built from a recent commit of https://github.com/IXCore/IXCoin using Alpine Linux.

You can choose to build an image without debug symbols, but with optimization, resulting in a rather small image of about 181 MB.  This is built with QT5 and can be viewed from a VNC viewer on the host system.

Or you can choose to build an image with debug symbols and no optimization, resulting in a larger image.  This image includes gdb and gdbgui which enables you to debug the executables using gdb and a GUI.

One issue I had with this was that the version of secp256k1 included in the source code would segfault.  Walking through the code with the debugger was not yielding results fast enough so in the Dockerfile I graft in a modern commit of https://github.com/bitcoin-core/secp256k1, which I consider to be the definitive version of secp256k1, and that works just fine.

I think copy-n-paste this code from other places into the IXCoin software, although a very common thing to do, is a clumsy way of handling this dependency.  Does anybody have a more elegant solution in mind?  I've left this as an issue at https://github.com/IXCore/IXCoin/issues/5, in case anybody cares to weigh-in on the topic.

Enjoy!

Thanks - was planning on creating such a system myself a while back - but never got the time/motivation

Abandoned after seven years.
The IXCoin has seven-year history before being abandoned, really?
Huh, how old is this project you're advertising on this signature? Respect the story, read a little about Caim and Abel. Grin

I wanna argue with that but I can’t.  Too depressed at the bleak reality of crypto death.

Can’t get a simple update done.  Begging for community funds is exhausted.  Other coins like BSV are now ahead of us. I’m personaply worn out by this long, painful, unfruitful endeavor.

If we don’t get a good coder [willing to work for free like the rest of us] then there’s no future for ixc.

Edit:  Yes.  Abandoned.  Congrats to every whale [and there are many of you] who pitched in nothing nor did you ever lift a finger to help while we exhausted ourselves financially and emotionally - all for nothing.

I hoped that Archimedes' update would be ready on July 2018, then August, maybe September, no.. November, December? January the 1st?
I don't really believe and care anymore.
Find yourself another hobby. This coin is going nowhere.
The ones wanting to do something have no resources.
The one with resources have no desire to do anything.
Crypto has more crooks than fiat, even more dangerous than fiat, more speculative than fiat.
I am tired of this world. It brought me mainly thieves, misery and false hope.
Take care. Enjoy real life.

I’m glad and sad at the same time to see I’m not the only one feeling like this.

I couldn’t have said it any better.  It’s upsetting and tragic cause IXcoin really could have been the best in crypto.  Literally.  But instead of helping - those who could have done something just sat idly and watched guys like DeadSea33 and I bleed out.  Maybe that was their intention.  Or maybe some simply only care about the allure of easy money and IXcoin was always the real deal, a long term play with no games - just the highest aim to build the best cryptocurrency without the pitfalls and negativity of coins like Bitcoin.

Sorry for all those who stuck with us and believed in this project all these years.  I promised I’d go down with ixc if things wouldn’t work out as I expected and it looks like that’s exactly what’s happening.

I hope everyone took my advice and diversified.

God bless and best wishes to everyone for 2019.

Hey, once per decade would be nice.
Not now, please! Haha have had so much time to pump and dump, at that point, we will accumulate wisely and wait for the results. There is no need to do what some people did in July with $I0C. Wink

Working on v17 this weekend. Got some help finally! Don't want to give an exact deadline - learned that the hard way - will be soon though. Almost all features of Bitcoin core v0.17.0.1- BIP 9 and a few other minor things left out. Donate to and view mining fund through cli. Got a use case in the hopper too - more to come....

With technical details aside, the only delicate issue was settled in Ixcoin and having free path to your deals! Proudly without premine, everyone involved in this work is to be congratulated. I feel that more and more eyes are watching and seeing Ixcoin, it won't be long before we see movements.

Thanks for your positive attitude.  It’s much needed.  Smiley
