KeyCoin wallet no sync ...
addnode = ?
Wallet link download for windows ( first page ) don't work.

One trick with any coin (like this one) that has a block explorer at multifaucet.tk is that you can find addnodes on the network info tab:

http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=KEY&network_info

Looks like there are two active connections currently. Good luck!

In the first 24 hours after our launch, we have already burned 263,919 Keycoins, which is over 27% of the entire supply.

We encourage all remaining holders to do the same.

The exchange period officially begins tonight at midnight, and ends November 30.

Message us here to this account before you burn your coins, tell us which coin you're burning, the amount you're burning, and your NXT wallet address (not a deposit address on an exchange).

Then send them, and message us again with the transaction ID.

The burn address for Keycoin is K7D9JtQxx7rRoWGu6szLpeFQKhbSzyUbC8

We are redeeming KEY at the set rate of .5 BARR, or 1 BARR for 2 KEY.

It looks like we're going to offer a coinswap for Keycoin, for anyone who wants to move their coins to a new blockchain and leave Keycoin behind.  Instead of naming it Keycoin 2.0, it's going to be a new coin with a new name, and it will also be accepting other altcoins for redemption.  But you'll have to burn your KEY to redeem the new coins.

So if you want to stick with KEY, it will still be around and I will keep Keycoin.us up and running.  And the coin supply will be even lower because of the people burning their KEY for the new coin.  Maybe the price will go up when KEY gets more scarce.  But maybe there will still be no volume and you could still be holding a bag with no one to sell it to.  Personally, I'm going to burn my KEY.  It's not that I don't want to keep a few coins, but I'm involved with the new project and it would be a conflict of interest for me to play both sides.

So think about it, there's no rush because it hasn't launched yet and there will be a 30-day burn period to exchange your coins.

Alright, I'm not going to have the money to pay CoinPayments.net to add KeyCoin.  That's what I was waiting for to launch the new website, and now I've decided not to wait.

So check it out:

keycoin.us

It has a lot of links, info, and even a blockchain bootstrap.  I'll try to keep the blockchain updated, so you can set up a new node in no time by going to KeyCoin.us, downloading the wallet, downloading the blockchain in a .zip, and have it up and running.

I've also tried to make it understandable to people who have never used cryptocurrency, so some of the information is very basic and won't be necessary for most people at bitcointalk.

Please let me know of any links or anything else you'd like to add to the site.

I see only one connected node.

Anyone know more alive nodes?

I have 10 active peers besides that one.  I'll PM you a list.

Cryptsy's wallet is online anyway, so we know they're active.

Thank you very much!

Nobody showed up here for the giveaway, but I did donate 15,000 KEY to the faucet at MultiFaucet.tk and people are using the faucet.

I've had the website up for over a month, but I haven't started promoting it because I haven't gotten Keycoin added at CoinPayments.net yet.

I did have another idea - when there's a struggling coin like KEY, you can move it to a new blockchain.  But if we just swap it, or move it, or fork it, it will probably still be struggling.  So instead of creating a new coin that just swaps for KEY, what if there was a coin that swapped for lots of different struggling altcoins?

Let's say there's a new coin, and the only way to get it is by burning certain altcoins in exchange.  Keycoin could be one of those coins, along with several others.  It would give people a chance to exchange their KEY for something else, since it's really not possible to exchange it for BTC when there are so few buy orders.

If every KEY holder burns their KEY for the new coin, then KEY is effectively swapped-over to a new coin and the old KEY doesn't exist anymore.

If some people burn their KEY, but others don't, then the total supply is reduced and maybe KEY will be worth more and gain strength.  Either way, it's a win-win.  We can get rid of the weak coins that are crowding the markets, and if a coin survives then it's not weak.

Update on the new website -

Everything is running fine, but I want to wait until KEY is added at CoinPayments.net before I start promoting the site.

My plans have been slightly delayed because CoinPayments doesn't take PayPal or credit cards.  That does make sense, but it means I have to wait until I have the cash in crypto to pay them.

No worries, it will just take a little longer.
