And the report is SUCCESS!

I've already downloaded over 10,000 blocks, which is quite impressive.  Only 300,000 left!

Congratulations! Very pleased for you. Smiley

Congrats. Now get those coins staking and wait for the fireworks!

My hope is that when they release the finalized trader tool, and the coin pumps...  the day traders as usual will get bored and start dumping it - that's when the devs should suddenly release the finalized KeyOS and then all those day traders get their ass's handed to them on a rebound bigger than the first!

Just a dream of mine though...

Cheers!

AWESOME, Thanks!

With the combined power of all these nodes, my wallet will have no choice but to connect!

I won't be home til Monday, I'll report back then.

...but I still have no active connections after restarting, rebooting, rescanning.

Some wallets just work, and some don't.  I have installed about 20 different coin wallets that worked immediately, and maybe 4 or 5 that I never got working.

Oh! That's very disappointing Sad

I run on a Mac so I'm not fully familiar with how it works on Windows - I'll start a Win7 VM and see if I can figure it out for you.

EDIT: OK, Windows wallet does seem a bit reluctant but I did get it syncing with the following addnodes in KeyCoin.conf:

addnode=137.175.198
addnode=188.134.72.213
addnode=217.40.200.248
addnode=37.187.144.69
addnode=204.11.237.74
addnode=96.11.62.114
addnode=137.135.60.66
addnode=212.160.231.217
addnode=108.163.197.58
addnode=217.75.69.200
addnode=150.101.188.160
addnode=198.199.102.165
addnode=93.103.8.223
addnode=50.76.237.74
addnode=74.248.49.214
addnode=188.165.2.147

I figured out the problem with my keycoin.conf file - I had to go into control panel - folder options and de-select "hide known file extensions".

It was naming the file keycoin.conf.txt

I had the following nodes:

addnode=107.170.91.220
addnode=178.62.42.109
addnode=178.62.51.49
addnode=107.170.35.189
addnode=188.226.184.232
addnode=162.243.122.97
addnode=107.170.153.13
addnode=95.85.62.12
addnode=178.62.54.145

So now I removed everything else besides the nodes, but it's still not connecting.

Thanks for your help, and Merry Christmas.  I heard Santa is giving KEY this year.

Hmm... I'm very sorry you are having difficulty.

I know the following nodes are active atm by virtue of my wallet being connected to them:

108.163.197.58
137.135.60.66
198.199.102.165
188.134.72.213
150.101.188.160
137.175.198.29
188.165.2.147

so you can add those nodes with confidence. Bear in mind those are the nodes giving the best response from down-under and may not be the optimum for your use.

It may be a good idea for you to delete peers.dat too, another will be written by the wallet shortly.

Don't forget to restart your wallet to make it read KeyCoin.conf again.

Good luck Smiley

Anyway, I still can't get my KEY wallet to connect to the network.  Anybody have suggestions?

Hi runpaint

Have you made a KeyCoin.conf file?

If not then create a text file containing the following two lines

addnode=107.170.153.13
addnode=178.62.54.145

and save it to Windows Directory: \Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Roaming\Keycoin\KeyCoin.conf
or Mac Directory: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Keycoin\KeyCoin.conf

depending on your system and then restart your wallet.

You should then connect and begin downloading the block chain.

Best of luck and best wishes of the season from the land down-under Cheesy

I haven't been in altcoins very long, but I recently became interested in KEY and I think it's just as good as or better than hundreds of other coins people are still trading.  How many of them are attempting something like an Operating System?  So I thought it was worthy of a few dollars along with all the other coins I've invested in.

When Poloniex announced that they were delisting 17 coins on the same day, including KEY, I asked them to reconsider.  But they had no interest in hearing what I wanted to say about it.  (I made a thread about that, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/poloniex-delists-17-coins-today-898025)

Anyway, I still can't get my KEY wallet to connect to the network.  Anybody have suggestions?

Good news  Cheesy https://bittrex.com/Market/?MarketName=BTC-KEY
"This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on December 19th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC."
