it really is rediculous, I have been trying to get a simple buy order through for 2 days now... no luck.

the other day I had another series of errors, gave up and closed the site. came back a couple hours later to find that my order had misteriously been executed....

I am a little scard to trade there now, do I have to sit in front of the screen for 3 hours to be sure, in case I get an error again (very likely)Huh

You should be really scared. Cause this is very typical for Kraken, and the dev team either dos not care, or is not up to the task to solve this issue.

One advise regarding this phenomenon. It can easily take up 5 min for the system to accept/show your order. So, in 99% of the cases if your order does not show up after 5 min, you can place it again.
You could write a little loop to check the order book in regular intervals, to see whether your order was placed (hint, do the same for the trade history).

Alternatively, you could also ignore Kraken and move on to another trading platform. Most of them which we encountered work fine. Im not naming any here as this would the wrong place to promote them.

Kraken should have the honesty to close its service until they have finally solved these massive issues, or all customers should get a massive rebate/refund on trading fees if they keep on running.

Some gateway errors, they are on Cloudflare it seems. One flare must have made a direct hit.

Under load the system looses it's Tier 1,2,3 data so no withdrawals possible because of missing registration documents WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT is wrong on their server farm?! No money to buy a brand new toaster?
That should not affect cancelling or placing orders.

Considering to move, too. Cannot deposit if I cannot withdraw. Who knows if the funds would not get lost in a situation like that.
No other site seems to have issues today. Just Kraken.

I totally agree with people who are pissed at the current Kraken service. Actually I think it is by far one of the worst trading platforms currently around.
In my company, we recently did some measurements on the percentage of Eservice unavailability, meaning the number of Eservice unavailable replies when trying to place an order, or cancel orders. The results where seriously scaring.
As note: we use a semiautomatic placement system, and analyzed the logs
To share some numbers with you:
yesterday we reached a failure rate of more than 80% when trying to cancel orders. Ie., a list of 75 orders was prepared and sequentially cancelled. In the end only 14 where cancelled, 61 were not cancelled.
These 61 orders were then put i the list again, and sequentially cancelled. Result: 37 cancel failures = 60.6%
After the third iteration there were still 24 orders not cancelled. So in the end, the number of calls to cancel 75 orders will be at least 199 calls. And only if the 4th iteration goes flawless (which I dont expect) . Pretty impressive...well done and applause to the Kraken rip-off team..aka development team.

Next, we took a look at placed orders over the past months. Here we saw that close to 30% of all orders to be placed ended up in Eservice unavailable errors, and needed to be placed again. And today...omg...more than 125 Eservice unavailable failures on 100 orders which need to be placed, meaning that it takes more 225 placement calls to place 100 orders.

Apparently, the team of Kraken solely consist of amateurs trying to present themselves as professionals running a trading platform, including false promises on the service level and even praising themselves as the best platform for BTC exchange (seriously written on their website), in order to get new customers which they can rip-off. I am actually disgusted by this type of people who are capable of maintaining this level of lies while they have serious issues with their trading engine which have been going on for almost half a year, if not longer.

Kraken, your site is a shame.

100s of orders cancelled since weeks. Your trading enginge is absolutely broken. And this after disabling advanced trandings. Loosed a lot of money with you, i quit with your site  Embarrassed

But since your site is so buggy i cant withdrawal my btc. Only error messages...

Can you fix almost the withrawal function. So at least people can go to another exchange after you screwed them enough. Thanks

It's just impossible to use it.
90% of time it refuses orders, sometimes refused orders suddenly somehow becomes accepted.
So double-triple-sell/buy should not surprise you when you work with kraken.
Sometimes when you need to sell or buy right now - you just can't and loose moment.

We are migrating from kraken.


UPD. Anyway I hope they could fix it and we can continue use it, because in other senses it has its strong advantages.

The market moves and their servers freeze under the strain of traffic.

And while their technical team is utterly incompetent to address their scalability/performance issues, Jesse Powell is unwilling to step in and clean house but is content to spend his days finger painting at the Verge Center for the Arts...

If it's your account. That is, it's opened in your name. Then yes!

SEPA EUR transfer works anywhere in the Euro zone.
