So does everyone else here!  I work at my RL job between 5-60 hrs a week, and I still like to spend time with my family, maintaining my house, etc.  If you are willing to pay for "staff" to monitor the MP 24/7, let me know, and I'll start hiring tomorrow!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming your efforts.
I'm just saying that as miners, there are dozens of pools we can choose from and I haven't had or seen any reliability problems with any other pools, this is the only one. It's unclear to me how big their staffs are. But the question you have to ask is, how many outages and problems are your customers willing to accept? I don't know the answer to that but there is a limit. How many did you lose with the last few outages? And how successful can you be if every outage or problem loses you customers (and thus profit)? I guess that depends on how many problems there are going to be and how many vacations you have planned and how much business you can afford to lose. I was your just about only SHA miner for many days sometimes clearing up to 80% of the shares. And I'm not sure I'll stick around if there's another sustained outage. If it was me, I would never let my business run unattended because that's just asking for problems and I would understand my customer's desire for a flawless operation and minimal downtime. You wouldn't start a restaurant and just have one cook, would you?
Other pools have problems all the time.  ghash.io has been having stability problems recently and that's the biggest pool there is.  Other small pools will go down and not have the courtesy to shut down stratum so your hash is wasted and you don't notice.  Peeps at least has the courtesy to shut it down so your hash doesn't go to waist.

Correct. This is the largest pool in the world, and I often see downtime there...and they have a huge staff. I would say ThePeePs is doing an excellent job by himself

i just always put trademybit pool as backup-pool at the end of my pool-list, if my preferred pool fails, miner switches to the next pool and if my preferred pool is up again it switches back, so i never loose any hash

Yea, all the ASICs I have used have had at least 3 places for pools. Two of those are the Multipool and cex, so when ThePeePs was gone and cex went down (two or three times while he was gone) I had to scramble to find #3  Sad

My only planed "time off" will be in Dec when my son is born, but I expect that the pool will be much more self sufficient by then.  Also, I won't be 3 hrs away from my house so I'll still have access to everything should the need arise.

Sounds like a perfect job for the two of you to get it accepted somewhere instead of just saying we are doing everything wrong. We are working on things that aren't ready, yet

You could start helping, rather than posting negatively. Your posts are the first thing people who open this thread see. Do you want to them to see two people saying we are incompetent, or those same two people trying to help out instead?
Actually I've made quite a few suggestions on how to improve but few if any have been adopted. That's OK. I offered my suggestions and you don't have to take it. It's your business and I respect that.

I would love to help promote the coin but I already have a job. I also don't have any idea how to get a business to start accepting Bitcoin let alone a coin I can't pronounce. Sorry, I am not the right person for that job.

The plan you PM'd me about sounds promising but I don't have any feeling for how that will go but I hope it helps increase demand for M coin. My only suggestion with it and any future plans is that you make sure the service is more reliable than the multi-pool has been, so please invest in the resources and staffing to run it properly and monitor it 24/7 to ensure 99.9% uptime. Nothing will kill it faster than unreliability and extended outages.

How has the MP been unreliable?  The only time I've seen that it went down was when the op went on vacation?  This isn't a big company that can pay a team of 5 people to constantly monitor the MP... It's 1 guy.  Thank you by the way Peeps!  As soon as he got back the MP was back up and running and nothing was lost.

You are right that M needs a organic reason to bring in buyers.  That's the only real way to get the price to go up.  Unfortunately right now all we have is the MP and Im glad to hear your mining away on it.  I have my rigs on there between rentals.

I'm on IRC with MMXIV all the time and have one on one chats with him.  There are things in the works that will generate that organic buy support but we need to remain positive here.  MMXIV is dedicated to this coin and isn't going anywhere, more then we can say for 90% of coins these days where the devs bail after a couple months when their coin doesn't go to the moon.  Dev stamina in this game is a key ingredient and this coin belongs much higher then .01 so stop selling it for pennies when you can wait and get $100 bills!

I know you insist and believe that everyone who owns M coin monitors this thread and will see your post, and perhaps they will, but the reality is that there are a lot of people who make a good deal of profit in trading these alt coins around. You're never going to convince anyone not to play the spread and price swings if the primary purpose of their holding M coin is to profit it from it (and who isn't here to profit?).

You're not going to get any sustained increase in the price by convincing or even just asking people not to sell. You won't be able to artificially inflate the price by getting sellers to whithhold sell orders for a little while. You can't just get rid of the sell orders, you have to give someone a reason to pay 2x, 3x, or 4x current prices for an M coin. You have to expect that every time there is a surge in price you will have a surge of sell activity as holders lock in profits. To increase price you have to increase demand for M coin organically. Give people a reason to buy, own, or hold M coin.  If all you can do with it is participate in an ocassional raffle then it isn't good for anything except playing the margins and price swings on Bittrex, and that's what people are doing.

Much of Bitcoin's value comes from being able to spend it in quite a few places. Are you working on any merchant acceptance for M coin?

Don't get me wrong, I want the value to go up as much as anyone else. But we all have to be realistic about what drives prices and markets.

+1 Well said, and I think I said pretty much the same thing a few pages back.  The value of M will remain where it is unless more buy support can be obtained.  BUYERS raise the price, not sellers.  Begging sellers to drop their orders is just that - begging.

People playing the spread is the ONLY market activity happening right now.  The Multipool is executing buys each day, but it's only hurting us, really.  Hell, if I had a truckload of MMXIV I wanted to sell for the best possible price, and I knew each day exactly 0.XX BTC worth of buy orders would be executed at a certain time, I would place exactly 0.XX BTC worth of sells every day and make sure they were at the top of the sell list.  The only reason I'm not is because about 60-80% of the multipool hashrate is mine (most days).

Not all of us can sit in and monitor a chat room all day. And I don't understand the difference of discussing it there vs discussing it here, I think we can get wider participation here. Please feel free to disagree with my posts. I hope my ideas are taken constructively as I am a supporter of this coin and I want it to succeed. If you have ideas about how to improve the price and what the plans are that would be a great discussion. Take advantage of me, you're getting free advice from an MBA.

You don't have to monitor anything. It keeps a log of all the messages

Not everything is ready to be posted and viewed by the public. There are a couple things we are working on that we only talk about in IRC (with previews) until we feel they are ready to be posted. We don't post promises, or what we are working on. We just post when we feel things are ready to be opened up to the public and we are confident enough it won't harm anyone with outages until the later phases of testing
I don't get it. Isn't the chat room public? Same as the forum? You can talk about things in one public place but not another? I'm not saying specifics need to be discussed, general strategies would be perfectly fine. For example you could say you were working with a retailer to get them to take M coin which would be good news for us users but would not convey any promises or divulge any secrets.

I guess I'm too dumb to use your 20 year old chat room. I log in and there doesn't appear to be anyone there, no one is saying anything in the minute or two I was there. You can't even see if other users are there. And there's no way to view logs (I clicked on everything on the screen). The only thing I saw was a way to change how the chat room looked. And I don't have time for live chat so it really doesn't work for me, sorry.

There's at least 15 people in the IRC at all times, but it's fine. Let us know your suggestions here, then. If you only think we are doing everything wrong, but don't tell us how to improve it, nothing will be able to change
