Been doing a lot of testing and the one thing i've noticed is that, on a fresh install (new wallet, no block data or peers.dat on disk), the hard-coded nodes seem to be on the old version still and are being rejected by the new client. This is making it so that new clients can't start syncing the blockchain UNLESS they use addnode in the .conf.

Does this work with Linux Mint? Thinking of switching over to Linux soon, as Windows 10 is coming out. I have read some security headaches to have to deal with Windows 10.

I believe this commit should fix any syncing problems. https://github.com/MintcoinCommunity/Mintcoin-Desktop-Wallet/commit/7a768d13ed3fcaaa652d16b7c80ed7a3136ba106

Updated the wallet build to 2.0.0.1
Fresh compile. Let me know if this works, I am about 200k blocks into a bootstrap.

Windows Error:
This program can't start because libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll is missing from your computer.

 Cool

I always forget to change mintcoinqt to static... Try again, same link and should be static.

Nice work, it has started syncing now.  Smiley

 Cool

Ok cool Smiley

So looks like the bug impacted people that weren't running a client during the fork. It caused errors when trying to sync prefork blocks after the fork had occurred. Only had to change a few lines in the code and everything looks all fixed and ready to go. All exchagnes etc should be fine as they would have been running their node through the fork anyways. We will need to update all website links etc to new builds. Fuzzbawls is working on a new mac build too. Sorry for the inconvenience to those impacted, but at least the fork itself went very smoothly.

Yes, I think if you missed the update before the fork, then I think you need to delete everything except first make a backup of your wallet.dat file. Do a completely fresh install with the new wallet. Then after it is synced, put your wallet.dat back in and restart the client.
I tried using my old blk0001.dat as bootstrap but it finished importing at block 348564 and then it got stuck at that block. Then I deleted everything and it got stuck at block 9.

Hello all,

It looks like I just missed a hardfork. What do I need to do now?
I downloaded the new wallet and it looks like it is trying to sync and download the entire blockchain but it seems to be stuck at block 9 of 1300001. I have 10 active connections. What should I do?

Update: Now showing 12 connections and stuck at block 9 of 1753806.
Update: Now showing 17 connections and stuck at block 9 of 1753758
Thanks

Looks like there are a few problems if syncing from scratch on the new wallet release. I am investigating them now and will update the code and compile a new release.

New word =>  ORPHANSTORM

ProcessBlock: ORPHAN BLOCK, prev=9ce0b71b8818b999230f
received block ba146c14a6a4d2b12b8a
ProcessBlock: ORPHAN BLOCK, prev=cf654a82d14c50ae3f7c
received block 9ce0b71b8818b999230f
ProcessBlock: ORPHAN BLOCK, prev=de4680df2e5598a2a0bb

2nd issue,
Over 40% did not update
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/mint/#!network

 Cool

FYI:
Not just new releases are being blocked, but even the updated version that was synced just 2 days ago, is not syncing. Staying frozen at a block last synced 2 days ago.

Do we have an updated bootstrap since the fork? This would really help people get caught back up and onto the correct chain.

Hi all
Just wondering if there was any way of recovering my Mintcoins that I lost when Mintpal was scammed?

I only had 1.25 million coins but to me that was a lot, does anyone know if there is a way of getting something back/
Thanks in advance for any help

I just purchased the Linux Mint cd for the very same reason - great minds think alike.

You could try to compile it with clang.
Code:
sudo apt-get install clang-3.n

replace all gcc with clang in your makefile.
I'm not really sure, but as far as I remember I had similar issues on OSX Mavericks.

Cheers,
Ray
I'll try this later today. Thanks.

Mintcoin dev team: do you think you can provide a headless build for Linux (mintcoind)? The only Linux version I'm seeing is the desktop version (Qt). Thanks.

Quick build on Ubuntu 14.04 64bit, tested and running on a fresh install of Ubuntu 64bit:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/l6hi0gvf7gqdwct/Mintcoind-v2.0.0.0-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz?dl=0

Just sent some fresh Mint your way from the guardianship wallet - also updated our primary download sites. Once again - thanks!

Thank you cryptomommy!

Is there much demand for a 32 bit linux headless daemon? I can build one but would have to get the build environment setup for that.
Also testing a Windows 64bit Qt build
